  1. So Far I have Scryll and Markenhoof. Is there anybody else interested in this?
  2. From the loot lists sent to me for the physical DPS (which is about half of them), we need: Hunters need the arrow pattern, which requires a gnomish engineer (which I believe Anamarie is). Karrock needs the Rock-Steady Treads (LW) to be made. Ascoli needs the Hellfrozen Bonegrinders (BS) to be made. --edit Oh, this reminds me, physical DPS get me your ICC25 loot lists ASAP. (this is the SpreadSheet with the current lists, also found in the first post)
  3. Hi, My 10 man recently downed algalon (after 3 or so weeks of trying), and as we won't be venturing back to him unless the weekly raid is in ulduar. So I figured I'd let other people get the chance to experience this kick ass fun fight. I will run this on either a friday or a saturday night depending on availability. If you are interested, please let me know, as well as which of the two days you can make it. I expect people to be AT LEAST ilvl 226 geared: this is a tough fight with a high DPS/high healing/high tanking threshold. I expect if you are interested that you will do some research on Algalons abilities, as we will only have 1 hour from agroing him. No AFK's during that hour too. I expect you to be flasked for that full hour, with appropriate food buffs. And please, no alts except if we need a specific role, your best geared mains are welcome. I will also choose people based on balance and availability, and a calander event will be posted with the people I select. Kailand ---Edit Me - DPS (Keyed on kailand) Markenhoof - Heals Scryll - DPS/Heals Eigun - Fail DPS Jestin - DPS/Heals/tank (Keyed on Jestin) Evila - DPS/Heals Xiris - DPS (Saturday) Elrikk - DPS
  4. Congratulations guys on turning off the superbowl and downing Algalon! I'd like us to down him once or twice more, but we will only go back in there and do it when ulduar is the weekly. Now to push progression in ICC. We nearly got putricide on sunday, and I'm sure we will do it this week. So lets put our newb shoes away, and kick some lich king and company butt. I'll also be organising some Algalon attempts outside of the 10 man raid to let others in the guild to experience the fight, you guys are welcome to come (the more experienced people there are the quicker others will learn). these will happen when the weekly raid is not in ulduar. -Kailand
  5. you also forgot: Ug pull agro on add! Ug tank! Ug die! /point Ug /laugh Ug
  6. Happy Birthday, I hope you are enjoying the drinks on the beach.
  7. Keep demz kids wid der rock'n roll musak off of yer lawn! Happy birthday skywatcher!
  8. That's too bad, and I hope blizzard restores everything soon, you will be missed in the mean time.
  9. It looks like most kills are taking about 4 minutes and 30 seconds, with some lasting about 5 min or more minutes. Most of our attempts were reaching that ball park. Everything I've read suggests popping all cooldowns at the start of the fight, since the ooze spawn time is time based, not health based, so we will have more DPS at the start then at the end. One suggestion I've read is that if we get to around 10%, spread out around the room and nuke ignoring kiting the small ones. I think our best attempt was about 25-30%... we definately need more DPS from most people.
  10. Happy birthday Holyssa! *hands holyssa a cane to help keep those damn kids off of his lawn*
  11. !!!! Hopefully that isn't the case, and just blizzard's servers being bogged down.
  12. Yay! Sent over my updated loot list. 1 trink left in TOC, the rest is ICC/badge stuff. K Noted. Also I would like to see physical DPS'rs updated loot lists by the end of the first week in January. Again, only include stuff acquirable from drops out of 25 man normal raids (that's all I'll be putting on the list anyways). Also Make a note of the craftables you wish to have made so we can get an idea of who needs what for the logistics of orb planning.
  13. Ok, Congratulations, Saurfang is dead! Thank you markenhoof for being available to sub in for a missing tokane on wednesday and a sick kalea on sunday (get better soon). Now, since the holidays are coming up, Wednesday we will go into Icecrown Citadel (since evila won't be with us to knock off Y-S + 1), then we will take a break until January 6, where we will go to ulduar and kill yogg-saron first (assuming we aren't missing anyone). So everybody enjoy their holidays, eat too much food, give and recieve many loots IRL. -Kailand
  14. Hrm, looking at the various stuff in ICC, it looks like there is are vendor recipes for engineers to make hunter ammo, which is a substantial upgrade from currently available ammo (the ammo is 30 DPS more than previous ammo, leading to a potential 150+ DPS upgrade for each hunter - much more than what we get from a flask). Unfortunately it requires Goblin Engineering for bullets, and Gnomish engineering for arrows (what a stupid idea blizzard, QQ, get rid of the importance of specialties elsewhere then toss it in for a required consummable at end game), as well as 1 Primordial Saronite to buy each pattern. Do we have atleast one of each engineering specialty in the raid, and are we going to be assigning a Primordial Saronite to those people for the patterns? The ammo itself is relatively cheap to make, with the bullets requiring 2 crystallized earth to make a stack of 1000, and the arrows requiring 2 crystallized shadow to make a stack of 1000. FYI I go through about 3-4 stacks of ammo a night, and I'm sure anamarie and karrock are similar, so miners, please don't vendor your shadows and earths, us hunters can arrange to pay a reasonable price for them. Anamarie and I are currently using arrows (Shadows), and Karrock is using bullets(Earths) Edit: additional FYI - current Arrows require 2 saronite bars a stack, and bullets require 1 saronite bar, and 1 volatile blasting cap ( 2 caps can be made from 3 cobalt bars and 1 crystallized water)
  15. Same here, I like going into new encounters the first time without really knowing what's going to happen (I find it more fun that way personally). About all I may look at is boss abilities. Now after that first attempt or two, then I'll read up on the various strategies. BTW, congrats on the hard mode council kill last night, I wish my connection was stable enough for me to be there and be a contributing member of that kill (WTB fixed internet connection and competent tech people). And as for loot, I'm with waldy, who cares, I'm more interested in experiencing content, and all loot is to me is a way to make that content easier to progress through. After all the ######ing about zeniita, I looked at his gear, and it's better than alot of people in the raid... I don't see the reason why people are ######ing about him hoarding: sometimes loot that is an upgrade just doesn't drop for a while *cough, weapons, cough, Kadiana's T6 Helm, cough*. That's also the drawback with a % based cost, if upgrades don't drop for a particular class/spec, then they end up getting screwed on DKP, but overall everybody will get their upgrades eventually (assuming they drop). My opinion on the requirements for a loot system is: does everybody have a chance to get upgrades at about equal rates, and is it simple to understand. Our current loot system, and the new % based system both meet those criteria.

    Contest!

Well, here is my story, I hope I will see a few others. While sitting around the camp's smoldering fire, Kailand adds some wood, and a liberal amount of scrunchies found near the sindorie tents, to stoke it. After staring into the flames, He looks to his venomhide ravasaur mount, which is slightly redder than a normal ravasaur, and notices a unique purple feather with white and red glittering stripes cut in half as a part of the ravasaurs bling, and the starts telling his story. See that feather, that reminds me of the first pet I tamed, way back when I was a little troll just learning to hunt in durotar. His name was Enraptor and he was a glorious Specimen of a Bloodtalon, the deepest red that you have ever seen. We were always together, whether it was helping the goblins in ratchet dealing with the persistent threat of pirates, fending off the Centaur intrusions into the barrens, or dealing with the alliance in the Warsong gulch. One day a crane operator in ratchet asked to recover some 99 year old port that this crazy old goblin stole from a regular shipment from booty bay. The thief was tracked to the entrance of the wailing caverns, which left both myself and Enraptor a little hesitant, since we could hear sinister sounds coming from within. After a few minutes to drink some liquid courage, we bravely set foot inside and came across a menacing Deviate wind serpent, which we quickly dispatched. Feeling confident from our first encounter, we went further inside the caverns, only to have some deviate stalkers appear out of no where to ambush us. Enraptor bravely took them on, while I did my best to fend them off with my supply of arrows. By the time we dealt with them, Enraptor was torn up, and my arms were sore, but we survived. While going through the remains of our defeated enemies, we can across a feather like that, and Enraptor immediately noticing its uniqueness would add perfectly to his bling bling that all raptors must have. Shortly after we found that mad goblin, slew him and took back the stolen port to the crane operator, and spent some time tending our wounds. Enraptor and I remained best of friends until our adventures took us to Un’Goro Crater, where we were charged with rescuing this goblin that got trapped, and was severely dehydrated at Fire Plume Ridge. We managed to get him half way down the ridge, when all of a sudden some elementals attacked us. We dispatched the elementals, but not without significant cost: Enraptor was severely burned. I did my best to tend his wounds, but the sickly goblin demanded my attention, and Enraptor let me know that I could escort the goblin to safety and then comeback for him later. After I saw Ringo, the sickly goblin, back to Marshal's Refuge where he could be safely taken care of, I rushed back to Enraptor. By the time I got there, there was a large female ravasaur tending Enraptor (and I could tell that Enraptor was really enjoying the attention). The ravasaur leapt to attack me, but Enraptor stood between us. It was at that instant, that I knew what I had to do, and that was let my companion and friend of many years go to live his own life. Enraptor offered me his treasure feather, but I refused to take it all, and used my dagger to cut it cleanly in half, leaving half of the feather for Enraptor’s bling, and keeping half for myself. I left Un'Goro shortly after that, wishing my old friend Enraptor a happy and long life, and met my new companion, Purrty, shortly after in Winterspring while helping another goblin who had gotten in trouble. After a pause to think a bit, Kailand digs out his half feather and stares at it, gets up and matches it to the one his mount has, and it matches perfectly. Kailand heads back to the fire, sits down, with a smile and a tear coming down from his left eye, tossing in another load of scrunchies.

    Contest!

Ok, I've had a few requests for an extension, so I'm going to extend the deadline until the 1st of december.... Get those stories written!
  18. Hi, I found this site while trolling some forums: http://quiz.wegame.com/wow_class_quiz/ It's a personality test that selects which class you are. Appearantly I'm a mage, what are you?
  19. Ouch, that's too bad. I hope that nothing unreplacable was damaged, and I look forward to dodging your teeth again when you get everything dried and fixed up.
  20. I've added to Zuworty's spreadsheet who gives the appropriate buffs/debuffs. Looking at peoples specs/glyphs it seems we have two major short falls on debuffs: Melee hit debuff - Druze could you please replace your glyph of insect swarm. We realize that it improves your DPS (by about 500 DPS), but you will take a much lower hit to your DPS than if a hunter swaps from Serpent Sting to scorpid sting (for me it's about a 1000 DPS loss, and for karrock and anamarie its more than 2000 DPS). Physical Damage Vulnerability (4% Physical DPS Boost) - It looks like Skolo has gone to Assasination, so we don't have a person providing this anymore. Our choice is to have a rogue provide this, or have Maalick go arms and have a rogue provide this when maalick is not around for a night. I will talk to the rogues/Maalick later about this. Also if Maalick goes arms, orcala/notoken do not need to worry about keeping up mangle... not sure how much of a DPS difference that would be. additionally we have 2 minor issues on buffs: Agility/Strength - We don't have access to the improved version of Strength of Earth, and its probably not worthwhile to have a shaman pick them up (23 more strength/agility to our tanks/physical DPS... maybe 250-500 more raid DPS, slightly higher tank avoidance), at the expense of healing and personal DPS. Melee Haste - We don't have access to the improved version of Windfury Totem (deep enhancement Shaman), or a Improved Icy Talons (Deep Frost DK). I'm not sure if the addition 4% melee haste is worth the DPS difference for our DK to go frost. We can solve both of these minor issue by getting an enhancement shaman for physical DPS.
  21. Just piping in.... I think we are making great progress on the hard modes. We saw steady improvement through out the whole night on thursday on both XT002 and Council. of course there will be bad attempts here and there... they even happen on farm content. People need to stop ######ing and accept that people make mistakes on occasion, and that raiding and wiping go hand in hand. For those people whining on how our time would be better spent in ToGC-25 (heroic ToC 25), that content is much harder than the ulduar hardmodes we are trying. Sure there may not be many upgrades from ulduar hard-modes, but since when is raiding solely about gear? Isn't it about over coming a challenge with members of a team, while having fun? And kalea's right, people should take upgrades as they come: everyone will get trophies eventually, DKP only decides who gets what first. As the physical DPS lead, I'm going through peoples gear/gems/enchants/specs/rotations/DPS, and see if they make sense according to what a raider should be, while taking into account our buff ######es (buff ######es will typically have lower DPS than the rest of their class but boost the raid damage, and that needs to be taken into account). At this stage in the game, people should have epic gems in all their ilvl 226 gear and higher (any gear of a lower ilvl should be your priority to replace ASAP, unless of course it is one of the top items around, like darkmoon card greatness, grim toll, mjolnir runestone, etc.) Those are my ramblings.
  22. Ok, ranged DPS should have this macro if they are having trouble targetting the sparks on Xt-002 Hard Mode: /tar Life Spark
