    Question...

I'll look into that, the lack of pallyness is a bit annoying.
  2. Take care Grimgor. I remember you well, and it's sad to see the Sons disbanding. I wish you all the best, and let me know if there's anything I could do to help the Sons on AD.

    Gwar?

::hugs:: We'll miss you bunches Sal, but I wish you the best.
  4. ::steps up on a treestump in camp just so she can be at least eyelevel with the tauren:: Hail Crushers! I have recently been given the mantle of Chieftain of this great clan, and I'd like to take some more time to speak with you about the direction of the clan. First, to clear up any confusion, I'd like to restate that Aletia is my new main, and many of you have known me for a long time as Raeda. I've just put the shaman aside for a while. As I said in the meeting, we are not a raiding guild, so, what are we? We have a number of people in our clan who enjoy roleplaying, and I would like to encourage more of it. We need to drop our laziness and add in roleplay each chance we get. It isn't hard at all, just like saying 'Hail Crushers' instead of 'hi guys'. There isn't a RP nanny around to whap you if you don't roleplay enough, I just would like to see as little real world chat in our guildchannel as much as possible (that's what the ooc channel is for). Any roleplay that is done just adds to the flavor of the clan. Well, we can't just chat all the time, there are mobs to kill and loot to be had! So we do need our dungeons. It seems that Blizzard has put a number of obstacles in our way to getting this loot, namely by rep grinds and instance timers... but we can find our way through that. For starters, remember that this isn't a race. Don't just join groups when you need something of your own done, but help others on their quests too. I've found that I have gotten far more benefit by doing this than by just sticking with my own needs. We want stuff from many different places, so helping with an event that wasn't your priority today may still bring you good benefits. And even if it doesn't, helping your clanmates to become stronger will definitely benefit you when you are looking for someone to craft you a pattern or another strong sword by your side. The stronger we are together, the more we can do overall. We have one team running Karazhan now, and with more people reaching 70, it may soon be time to start another run. Since Karazhan is a ten man run on a weekly timer, it isn't so easy to switch out people in one group to make sure everyone gets a chance. So I'd like to see another person step up to take the role of raid leader for a second run! Once we get that new shiney pretty loot, I know people like to lootlink all to see. For some time that was getting out of control. I think you've gotten more of the idea now of when to spam chat with new loot and when not to, so I won't be too harsh about that. Just remember that too much linking gets annoying really fast. Also, once one person links an item, no one else should repeat the link immediately after! We can scroll up if we missed it. Beyond the roleplay and beyond the loot, there is the Alliance. Yes, there are far too many of them, and their numbers need to be thinned! Some of our clan have already begun the fight by bringing out their 29 twinks to Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin, so feel free to make your own and join them Friday night, or create your own bracket group. I'd like to start promoting more world pvp as well. Since Alliance try to reclaim lost property rather quickly, the most effective way for us to gain new lands would be to work in a large team, so I was thinking that after our clan meetings we could stage an assault on Halaa, Hellfire or Zangarmarsh. Please remember though, there is a limit to how much the leadership can do. If you're complaining about lack of community, lack of guildchat, and lack of instance runs, then take the initiative and start up the chatter yourself or help a random Crusher with his chores. This won't just come to you on a silver platter. If you have any thoughts on all of this, this post is a great place to start sharing your ideas.
  5. *giggles* That's awesome, good find.
  6. If you got a Windows Update this week, that was most likely it. Just run Windows Update and see if any new ones are available if you're not sure. If nothing new comes up, you should be covered. To check and see if it is installed, go to Add or Remove Programs, check the 'Show updates' box, and you should have a security update with the number (KB925902) in the list.
  7. Okay, so this doesn't sound too much related to WoW until I read this article on the BBC. Basically, Microsoft found a flaw in their Windows software that would exploit animated cursors to run malicious software. They rated this as highly critical and released the patch this Tuesday outside of their normal release schedule. Apparently, this flaw is used to exploit the way WoW's cursors run and captures user data to steal accounts. Oh fun joy! Install the patch now! You should get it through Windows Update over the next few days (I've seen the update show on a few computers in my lab already, and not yet on others - Windows Update is odd that way ).

    Home Stretch

::hugs!!:: Take it easy, and we'll keep the clan alive (or rezzed if necessary) until you get back. Oh! Pictures. We want them!!! ::hugs::
  9. You boys are hopeless. *makes Relikk repent* *casts blessing of freedom on herself and wanders off* Nice try tho.
  10. What with the months of raiding we did in Molten Core, Zul'Gurub and Anh'Qiraj, and now the new content that we're exploring in Outland, we're starting to lose our way as a clan and a family, and I'm suggesting this as a way to return to our roots and find our base again. It's time to bring back to the Crushers one of the aspects that we were founded on, namely, roleplaying. We started this guild on Argent Dawn for that purpose, and I assume that since you created characters here, you are of a like mind. I know everyone has various degrees of roleplay they like to engage in, and this guild has not strictly enforced any level of roleplay in a long time. However, I've noticed that we are losing our flavor that makes us Crushers, and becoming just another generic guild on Argent Dawn. Since not everyone wants to be a serious roleplayer, there's some simple things everyone can do to help keep the roleplay spirit alive in the guild without requiring too much effort. For starters, remember the guild naming conventions! Please keep your characters names believable, and if the name doesn't sound like something a mother would call their child, rethink that name. Names like 'Thebutcher' or similar will be given a 'no, please reroll' no matter how long you've leveled that character and just now want to add them to the clan. (You want an exception? Then you'd better show the elders a loooong back story to justify that name). Second, guildchat! It's gotten bad with all the ((OOC)) talk, especially since so much of it can easily be turned into roleplay chat! I'm not saying that you can't talk OOC anymore, but that everyone needs to try to roleplay their character when it's possible. This just takes practice is all. Orc speak may be too difficult for some people to want to try, so I'll just start with simpler things. Here's a few examples that I've seen in guild chat recently that can be easily changed: Grunt1: what village? what zone it in? (nothing wrong here) Grunt2: Second town after starting point of blood elf ('Second town after leaving the blood elf capital' sounds better) Grunt1: o ('Oh' spell it out!!! it's one extra letter. sheesh.) Grunt1: ((this may be a dumb question, but where is gagetzan, and is it neutral or alliance territory?)) ('Gah. I'm dumb. Where is Gagetzan? Is it safe to go there?' or 'Who owns it?') Grunt2: Neutral ('It's run by goblins.') Now, I know that roleplaying in dungeons or quests can be hard to do, so I'm not trying to push for it there, just in guildchat. The last little fix: no more abbreviations! This is in reference to lol, r, omg, u, rofl, o, 4, y, ne1, lfg, pst and other little language shortcuts. Spell it out. Please. That ruins the roleplaying feel faster than anything else. I'm not trying to be a spelling nazi (because misspelled words happen), I'm just trying to discourage some of the laziness.
  11. Outland is finally open to us! And many of us have found new patterns, designs, potions and enchants to share with the clan! List yours here so we can get a good idea of what the clan has and what we're lacking. (especially any rare patterns you may have snagged) To begin: Aletia - Jewelcrafting (skill 335). I can make a number of basic green gems for sockets, but I still need to increase my skills to get up to the blue gems and better.
  12. Yep, I was hesitant to try a blood elf, the evil aspect was played up so much, but their evil is *fun*. My little pally is here to stay.

    Farewell

::hugs!:: It was fun having you with us, you were always cheerful and that spirit infected the rest of us.
  14. Aw... ::sighs:: I'll definitely miss you, you added a lot of flavor to the Crushers. ::hugs:: Take care, and if you ever want to just run around spamming moonfire, I'll run with ya.
  15. "Earth Shock" no longer causes increased threat. "Frost Shock" now causes increased threat. This is important, shamans be wary of your agro.
  16. ::drools over the shiney:: ::ninjas it!::
  17. YAY!! ::pelts Relikk with snowballs::
  18. A sentry totem placed outside a tauren's tent twitched as the imp passed by, signaling to the sleeper inside that an intruder was close. The tauren huffed and shook her mane at being roused from a restful sleep. Slowly, she woke and threw a fur around her shoulders as she lifted the tent flap and stepped outside in the crisp air. Raeda looked around and was startled to see a fire alight on the old chief's tower. She frowned, but her expression softened when a dancing imp was seen outlined in the flamelight. Chuckling, she went back into her tent, and with a longful glance at her furs, still warm from her body heat, she gathered her shamanistic tools around her and sat on the mat in the center of her tent. Sleep will wait for another night, now was the time to ask the spirits of how an old orc fared.
  19. This topic will be the tour book for the dungeons, listing all the Crusher tips and tricks to successfully stealing Drakisath's armor off his back, ######slapping Ragnaros enough til he comes back for more, and training Razorgore to sit up and beg. I would love to see Maube (MC), Crikrunner (AQ), Baracko (ZG) and Verissi (BWL) make up guides to these dungeons. *hint hint poke* Any others that would like to make up other dungeon guides (from Ragefire Chasm to Upper Blackrock Spire), please feel free to add.
  20. RARGH!!! The time of war is upon us, but first let's get properly geared. Please add to this topic with the type and number potions and reagents you think are good to bring for any dungeon and I'll consolidate them together. Potions I'd like to see per individual, and reagents I want to see how many are necessary per raid. If you don't know the exact amount a raid needs, list how much you use for a raid and how much of the raid that covers. I've included links to Thottbot for the potions so everyone can see what materials are necessary to make the potions. If you aren't an alchemist, bring the components and one of our alchemists will gladly make them for you! NOTE: Everyone should bring a full stack of heavy runecloth bandages! MAGES: Keep 6 runes of portals handy, 1 arcane powder per person in raid (so MC = 40) PRIESTS: 40 man run = 24 candles for fort, 24 candles for spirit, 24 candles for shadow DRUIDS: 1 thornroot per person in raid (so MC = 40), need info for number of suggested seeds for battle rez SHAMAN: Bring your ankhs! 5 thanks. HUNTERS: Arrows! Ammo! Your bags had better be full. Pet food! There's nothing worse than a hungry bear. Dire Maul Frost oil (for tribute run) - 1 potion AQ Greater nature protection potions - 7 per person Greater arcane protection potions - 2 per person preferred Shaman need 20 fish oil for water walking Molten Core Greater fire protection potions - 2 per person Major mana potions - 5 per person Major healing potions - 5 per person
  21. o.O And here I thought my life was getting busy. ::hugs:: Take care! And post screenshots of that baby!
  22. Aw! ::hugs:: You'll be missed. Feel free to ask if you ever need a hand! (Although my free time has been sketchy as of late as well. )
