  1. Then wouldnt folks with non-fencing skills have the same problem? Say a GM swordsman. He wouldnt have 90 fencing skill to use the special moves either
  2. Can mages use Mage Weapon Lances?
  3. http://www.imahosting.com/ free sig host limited to 20K in size though
  4. Hehe. I had seen that one Prom. I thought it was hillarious. Pre-AoS the 3D Paperdolls were pretty good, better than the 2d in my opinion. Now though, they look like Cabbage Patch Kids. Poorly drawn ones at that.
  5. Actually I see 2 distinct advantages of 3D over 2D. 1 - With the 3D client the dungeons are never truely dark. Using 3D I never have need of an In Lor or Nightsight. On the 2D client the dungeons can get dark as coal. 2 - I like the CTRL + SHIFT option of the 3D client. With just 2 buttons pressed I get the bar of every item, player, and creature on the screen. It makes it easy to pull health bars, it makes it easier to loot. This one is nice, but not too much of a plus. In the 3D client, as soon as the death blow lands I can open the corpse and begin looting before it hits the ground.
  6. I am 3D fool. Why lie about it? But doing some experimentation I have found that I lag a lot less in 2D. Especailly when 2 or more vortexes are on screen.
  7. I still find it funny that OSI puts new necromancers in a skirt. I think the bone idea is pretty nice. Maybe at squire level they are lucky just to wear bone armour. At knight level they move to full bone armour/mage armour.
  8. So this is what K3WL DooD do at the prom. I love this comic pvponline
  9. Sounds interesting enought. But I do have a question about it. What of the Dread Cohort? They are necromancers that seem to have chossen to used their "cursed" powers for HONOR. Could the Fae work side by side with them?

  11. Maybe they got a really bad sunburn and those mean guards are always trying to slap it and laugh? hehe
  12. from stratics: As many of you may have heard over the last few weeks, there is currently a "technique" used in Dungeon Doom that takes advantage of game mechanics in the Lamp Post Room. Thanks to GM Platinum, we now of an official statement on OSI's stance on the issue. Here is what was posted earlier today in our moderated Announcements Forum: We know players have had concerns about the lamp post room in the Dungeon Doom, and we wanted to clarify for everyone that we do not consider logging out in the lamp post room to be appropriate. The intention of the room is to remove players after completing their time there, and circumventing the spirit of that design is an abuse of the game mechanics. GMs may be called upon to take action when reports of this “technique” come to us, but please know that we will not take any actions without first considering all the circumstances. In some instances, a warning may be used to educate the player on why this “technique” is inappropriate behavior, although, as always, there may be circumstances that dictate the action be more significant. The GMs are working with the Dev team to see if there is anything than can be done to reduce the impact of this problem. Players that wish to make suggestions on how to improve the game are often referred to the message boards by the GMs. Having players post their comments on these boards helps to assist the Development Team in determining the priority of a particular issue. We appreciate your cooperation with this. Please also note that our staff is unable to comment on specific actions taken against players. We strive to be consistent and fair whenever someone is found violating the TOS or ROC. We currently use an ISO 9001 certified quality control process to help ensure that the GMs treat everyone equally. When a GM actions a player, the incident is automatically reviewed for consistency as part of our quality control process. We are striving to improve the overall quality of our support services and appreciate your patience as we work to serve you better. So there you have it. If you would like to discuss it further, make sure to click on the "Comment On This" button at the top of this news article. ___________________________________________________ I think what they are trying to tell us is that it is considered an exploit to log out in the lamp room and log in only to snatch it. I can agree with that. I also think they are saying "Page a GM when you know this is happening." Of course with the wait lines it would take to long for a GM to get there. If a GM shows up they will first consider all of the circumstances. Which I think means the exploiter will have a pretty decent chance to talk their way out of it. Oh well. There is the news and my opinions. Make what you will of it.
  13. If so, I could use some storage space! Yeah! Nekkid! Sorry. I just couldnt stop myself
  14. when you reboot, full reboot /power off, does the monitor light ever change color as it reboots? From yellow to green. If it doesn't. then your card may be hosed
  15. A new Team Comment has been posted recently, this time from GM Platinum (Team Lead, Player Relations): The last time I was asked to do this I was a Senior Game Master for Ultima Online. Since then, I have moved into the role of Lead Game Master. I have been doing this job for just over a year now. My role consists of supervising the in-game support staff, as well as managing the service for Ultima Online, Earth and Beyond, and The Sims Online. This mostly consists of making sure everything is running smoothly, as well as getting issues resolved that affect the service with each of these games. The tasks I am faced with can be more than challenging at times, so having a great team to work with is extremely important. I have been very fortunate in that I have had the opportunity to work with some outstanding individuals. The group we have right now certainly falls into that category; they make me laugh and keep me on my toes. More importantly, they have shown me that they are always willing and able to address any challenge I happen to throw their way. I would like to take a moment to explain to you all what the role of a Game Master is. The GMs are there to provide support for in-game issues. Some of these issues include harassment calls, fixes that do not require development/QA assistance, hacked accounts, etc. While there are many issues that fall into this category, general game play questions do not. If you have a general game play question, we ask that you research the answer by using the alternate methods that are available in and out of the game, such as the Codex of Wisdom and our Game Wizard, which is located at http://support.uo.com. By selecting the "Find Answers" option in the Game Wizard, you can search the database by using keywords to see if the information is available. If the information is not available, you can click on the "Ask a Question" tab. Once you enter your question, it will give you feedback on answers that might be helpful to you. If none of the answers apply, you can update your incident, which will send a message to the email team, and then they will attempt to resolve your issue. Unfortunately, there are some issues that the GMs cannot address. For instance, there's a bit of confusion with stat and skill gains. If a player pages in claiming their stats and/or skills will not raise, there is nothing the GMs can modify on that character that will force them to raise. I realize this can be more than frustrating for you; however, since we don't have the ability to determine whether or not your stats or skills are being adjusted properly, it's not something we can fix for you in-game. If you truly feel there is an issue with your stats or skills, we ask that you please report this to our QA Team at uobugs@uo.com. It is very important to us to be able to address those issues we can in a timely manner. That is one reason I chose to provide you all with some information via a Team Comment that will help you help us make things better. I hope this helps to give you all a better understanding of the service the GMs can provide. I appreciate you all taking the time to read this. Please keep in mind that we are always looking to make any changes that will allow us to provide the best service possible. In closing, I would like to say thanks to all of you because you truly make UO a great game. Platinum Team Lead Player Relations ______________________________________________ Let me see if I understand. He basically just told us in 6 paragraphs or so "We cannot help you with that. Please see http://support.uo.com" Or am I missing something?
  16. It is easiest on a boat beacuse there are no trees or rocks or logs to block your progress. Nor as many monsters. Plus, there are some parts of the ocean in UO that allow you to sail "around the world." Think back to your Pac-Man days. When you went off the top of the screen, you came back on the bottom of the screen, and continued moving up. It's the same thing here.
  17. Wow! Hope the neck injury clears up soon. That isn't something to mess around with. Sorry to hear about the inury and your car though. Really hope you get to feeling better soon.
  18. In a recent FYI were posted common questions and answers on the new "Luck" attribute: Q&A: What's Luck Got to Do With It? It’s that time again, so let’s get to it! After tons of questions about luck on the boards, and plenty of answers from MrTact and others, it seems fitting that this week we’re focusing our Q&A on the new addition of Luck in UO. Question: In the shortest way possible, could you tell me what Luck does? Answer: Some monsters, upon death, will have magical items in their loot. Your Luck rating has a chance of increasing the number of magical items in that loot, increasing the number of magical properties for each magical item, and/or improving each magical property of each item. Question: Hm. Are you saying blacksmithing isn’t affected by Luck? Answer: That’s correct. Luck only affects magical items that are generated when certain creatures die, and won’t improve the items you craft on your own. Luck specifically comes into play at the moment of a creature’s death. Most monsters essentially have no loot except for gold, but when one dies, one of several possible loot "packages" is created for it. There’s a certain point in the creation of that loot when magical items could be generated, and that's when your Luck is important. Question: So how important is my Luck rating? Answer: Well, the basic loot will be offered to you no matter what. If the creature is going to have magical items, you’ll be offered at least the minimum number of items, each with at least their minimum potential. In this way, you won’t lose out by having a low Luck rating, but it never hurts to try to give yourself better odds at getting better magical items. By the way, if you’re fighting a monster in a group, only one person’s Luck rating will be considered when the loot is generated. The person who contributed the most to the kill, as far as damaging the creature, will be the one whose Luck is checked when the magical item checks occur. Question: How can I find out more about Luck? Answer: There’s a few ways you can do that. We have a Luck subsection in the UO.com’s official playguide. You can also keep an eye on the Stratics boards, where our own MrTact, Lead Server Engineer for UO, has been happily discussing Luck, among other topics, for the past couple of weeks. Speaking of the Stratics boards, if you’re interested in joining in any of the conversations that UO’s development team is participating in, you can catch up quickly by checking in with the Development List page, here. 19. Just saw on stratics Plans have been made to perform an extended maintenance on the East Coast Shards, as described in a recent FYI: Tomorrow morning and Thursday (April 23rd and 24th), we will be performing extended maintenance on the Chesapeake, Atlantic, Catskills, Great Lakes, and Lake Superior shards. Rather than bring them all down at once while we perform the maintenance, we will stagger the times, ideally keeping the downtime for each individual shard to a minimum. We've planned these times to be as close to normal morning maintenance as possible, so these downtimes will take the place of the normal maintenance periods for these shards. Here is the currently planned schedule for these downtimes: Wednesday 4/23 Chesapeake 4:00 AM CST (5AM EST) Atlantic 5:00 AM CST (6AM EST) Catskills 6:00 AM CST (7AM EST) Thursday 4/24 Great Lakes 4:00 AM CST (5AM EST) Lake Superior 5:00 AM CST (6AM EST) The downtime for each shard is expected to last approximately three hours from the time it is brought down, but we will update you further if that changes. Thanks very much for your patience!
  20. From www.ianstorm.com/ultima Ivory Tower is an auction house in the Great Lakes shard. We're trying to establish ourselves as one of the best auction houses in GL but we need your help. We are in dire need of a logo! Please visit us at www.theivorytower.net and the rules can be found in http://www.theivorytower.net/contest.htm ps: The gold will be awarded in GL, if you are from a different shard and would like to participate, please email me at vladdrakken@theivorytower.net
  21. Lukkan and Winter played a mean joke on Kyo last night. When she recalled to Lukkan's house we yelled "REDS! RUN!" and took off. We didn't let her get far and apologized. I'll get those runes made for you Lukkan. No problem
  22. Will she pass out the shirts you bought at your funeral? Wouldn't mind having some myself. Neat site.
  23. LOL! that was funny Apparently she needs to visit a "clothing hacker" to help her pick out some better pants and a "beauty hacker" for, well, obvious reasons. Why do I have a deep darkfeeling she is the person that coined the phrase "Joo got pwned!"
