  1. I may be new to the Crusher guild tag, but through my many months (over a year now) of raiding with them, I have come to know many people from the guild, and it is those people that ultimately got me to switch from BotB to CS. Raiding *IS* a form of 'get together' in its own right. I take a bit of offense to the fact that someone thinks that it should be 'required' at all. I have been on WoW almost since day one, and I have studiously avoided guilds that 'force' people to do things. We all pay to play the game, and its not only our time we put into the guild, but our hard-earned money as well. I will admit that, as a long time roleplayer, it is nice to see CS involved in Roleplay, and it's fun to play 'in character' a little bit... but I don't like the idea of being 'forced' into it. Also, as Baracko pointed out, it is not fair to the other guilds that we team with to say "Hey, thanks for helping us in our raid, but we gotta RP tonight." and not make any progression or get any loot that night. It is a bit difficult to find quality raiders who know the fights, and I'd certainly hate to lose some of them because of lost time over 'RP night'. If we truly are a 'family', as the quoted text claims, then we need to act like one. Families understand that we all have quirks, different drives and desires, and that even if we can't go to Grandma's house every sunday for brunch (or to RP night every month), we still do things together when we can, and band together when needed. I think the most equitable solution is to try to find a time when the most of us can be there (Wednesdays and Sundays in the eveing are best for me), and to show up if we're willing and able. I for one would be quite willing to be at those events if I am able to be there. -Kadi
  2. Awesome job tonight, everyone! It was great to see everything just 'click' and go together. I hope Kael'thas is quivering in his boots, 'cuz he's next!
  3. QFT! I soooo wanna smack a felpuppy in the head with that! It also makes pallies actually a bit more useful for CCing things in PVE since it's now a stun effect instead of a fear effect. That change, and resilience being applied to mana drains are what I'm looking forward to the most on the PVP side, and I'm looking forward to Sunwell the most on the PVE side. Anything that gives me a chance to kick Kael'thas in the family jewels has to be a good thing!
  4. Good work on Vashj last night! I feel pretty good that we will get her next week. I think the server crash hurt some of our focus, so that means that next week, if we don't crash *knocks on wood* we should be extra good to go! That ###### is gonna die soon. Then, Kael'thas, oh yes, I will be coming for you in that long-overdue kick in the nuts I've been owing you for almost a year now...
  5. When I read this, my first reaction was, 'who is trying to NOT be in this raid when it is doing so well?'. I have been a part of several raids, including the main Brotherhood one back when they needed 40 people, and the commitment levels to it were far higher than what Cal is asking for. In order for any raid to be successful, it needs consistent, commited players. Any raid that has tried it without that element, at least in my experience, quickly failed. I also would like to say that Cal and Baracko are far nicer as raid leaders than most that have made the kind of progression that this raid has made. I think they have done an excellent job in organizing the people, planning out the strategies, and trying to get it done. Keep in mind that many guilds have attendance REQUIREMENTS where you could lose your spot in a blink of an eye to some ambitious player waiting in the wings if you miss more than one raid on one of those nasty 5-6 nights per week schedules, while all Cal is asking for is that you let him know beforehand if you have RL issues, or if you don't want to show up anymore, on a raid that has a far shorter timeframe on far fewer days. Basically, what it comes down to is that while raids are fun, and the loot is cool, they do take some work. I would hope that no one really expects to be able to show up for a few weeks, get what they want, then stop showing up while everyone else does the hard work, and then be able to show back up again when we hit Black Temple and Mount Hyjal. I truly believe that this group has what it takes to see those places, and it would be a shame to see it start to fall apart because a few people decided to be lazy, or decided they didn't want to pay the repair bills. Raids require time. They require repair bills. They require work. They are also very fun, especially on those nights when you kill that boss that has been giving you trouble over and over again. As someone who has been through the nightmares of learning new instances before there were strategy guides, I truly feel that the grind is worth the rewards in a group that is dedicated to getting it done. I fully support Cal and the sentiments expressed in his post, and I hope that all of our raiders decide to stick with us. We will be running Tier 6 instances before you know it. -Kadiana
