  1. Elatiel, Thankyou! I thought I was the only one that hated the whole "anime" look. It was nice at first, but everybody seems to be doing it. To tell you the truth, I am afraid that one day UO will look like a bad "anime" game because OSI/EA will try to cash in on the fad.
  2. I believe GoL runs a helpdesk weekly targeted to new players. They used to run it in Haven, but have recently moved it to their Malas home. The problem with Haven was it brought out griefers in mass amounts at times. People that just basically wanted to be asses and made things harder on everybody. Umbra would be a good bet becuase of all the young players that start as necromancers. Luna has a good amount of new and old players. Brit could be a hassle due to lag. Another idea, do it in the PGoH City or at Olympus. Less chance of lag and people could be gated there from the other 4. Wouldn't hurt to talk with GoL and see how their help desk is going. Possibly run our event in conjunction with thiers. Might benefit both guilds that way.
  3. *deleted because I found one for him*
  4. [sarcasm] Well this is just great [sarcasm] I liked the UO boards. Not to mention the fact that for the last few weeks the stratics site has been as unstable as AoS. Oh well.
  5. Sounds like my bow list. I figure they are out there somewhere. Just got to find them. I know they used to come as loot on Juka Lords, but it has been a while since I have seen a Juka Lord. Just haven't been out that way.

    Bowcraft

Slowly working my way to GM Bowyer. Will let you know as I go. Might have to get a GM Bowyer to go with me one night. I repair the bow and see how long it takes to drop. Then repeat with the GM Bowyer reparing it.
  7. Looking for daemon slaying bows, crossbows, and heavy crossbows.
  8. Earth ele hunt! My armour is gonna be filthy when we're done. Wed and Thurday are open. For both Raistlin and I.
  9. That seems to be the thing with PKs. Surprise is their ally. A lone red can charge into group of blues, get a kill or two, and some decent loot. People are shocked by their appearance and lack of catuion. As steel said, a small group can easily pick apart a larger one. Partly due to surprise, fear of going grey, and general lack of team work. I love the way somebody expalined it to me one day "Red=Dead" Still a good idea you have there. The problems I see are: "I needed help at x:15, and it took too long for the response team to get there." As long as people understand that the Response Team is volunteers who will do their best to get there on time and assist it will be ok. But if they are expected all the time everytime, then we have a problem. That would be the hardest part, making sure people understand that "Yes there is a team. No we cannot promise they will be available the exact moment you need them." The other issue. "I am on the road between Skara and Brit!" Hmm, not too helpfull. The PK's love to hit hard and fast. By the time the response team got there, they may only be able to rez. Too late for anything else. Now your situation at the mining area is a different story. That would be more realistic for the team to provide a solution too. Just expect the reds to come back. Last Red story before I get some sleep. A friend loved fel, is where he lived since he started playing long before trammel was found. Whenever he was attacked by a red and won. He did a simple thing. He made sure there were plenty of bandies and ingots on the body when they came back. Of course the bandies were any clothes they had, the ingots any metal they had (yes even vanq weaps, saw that one time). Along with a recall scroll incase they needed it. He only took what gold and regeants they had as payment for his bandie/ingot providing service.
  10. But the other night was so much fun! I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I come across any. Would it be ok if it was in Fel?
  11. I give you credit for the patience to stick with it long enough to get a GM to do something. Not an easy task these days. I do believe there was a "PK" unit idea brought up last year. I want to say OCT/NOV time frame. At that point the idea was a dedicated team that would rid the champspawns of reds so that guild memembers could work the spawn to benefit the empire. My mind is a little rusty on it but I believe the Emperor used his veto power to strike the motion down. Anybody else remember this?
  12. Was not aware of that. I do not have UO Assist. To be honest with you, I just never saw enough in it to warrant the $15. But that's just my opinion. Heck, my opinions and 75 cents aren't enough to buy coffee these days. But, thanks for the info. Might rethink my UOA stance.
  13. Ok, I have been playing with the UO Auto Map and it's chat feature lately. Something I have noticed is that when multiple people begin chatting it becomes a hassle to play. Nothing like trying to run from something pounding you into the ground and all of a sudden the chat box comes up. I was thinking of times during a large guild hunt, the leaders of the different parties should be the only ones using the chat feature. To prevent everybody's screen from getting the message the following can be done: (taken from uoam.net) This is just an idea. As always, I am open to ideas, suggestions, and criticism.
  14. Regretably OSI seems to have changed the stealing rules. You are no longer allowed to steal from the NPC crates and chests in Fel and Tram. I do know 1 player that went to Skara Fel and stole from his packy next to the horde of faction vendors protecting the sigil there. He went from 30 to 85 in two days this way. It is rather tedious though. At 30 stelaing he would steal 4 empty bottles, at 40 he would steal 5, and so on. Best of luck.
  15. I believe you can walk on them. Its the lava and water ones that block you.
  16. Because when you make a mistake an ignorant 13 yr doesnt run up yelling "Joo got RoXXorEd by da 7eet DooD." hehe
  17. Again, I regret I could not attend. Ser Brightblade, I like the plan you have devised. People will utilise their best skill in the role it best serves. If it is a group event, every position is just as important as the next. The glamor and glory comes from reaching the final goal as a team.
  18. In a way that make sense to me. Think about people that have fallen through ice, but been revived afterwards. Seems that the brain shuts down when the body begins to freeze. Mind blast shuts down the target's brain to an extent. Of course, I could just be putting too much in to it.
  19. It just seems that there is a mad rush to relase a MMORPG by every software developer out there. My biggest concern is that over all the genre will be hurt by so many trying to do the same thing.
  20. Prior commitments r/l will not allow me to attend. I apologize
  21. Cool! signed up for the group today.
