  2. *Gothik voice* DKP! Pit! Now! *hurls a bunch of giant styrofoam numbers into a pit full of bones*
  3. In before "GIT OFF MAH LAWN!" /caneshake. Happy Birthday Kailand!!
  4. Next patch is gonna have a ton of new mounts...but short of logging in and picking apart the messy menu in-game, how does one keep track of all this crap? http://www.bennlinger.com/mounts/ Moduspwnens of the Maintankadin.com site made this cool utility: check off the mounts you own, save the link, and keep it for memory's sakes. Or share it with your friends and try to spike the Hate Meter. It also lists a lot of mounts that don't exist anymore, but some of the info is a bit inaccurate. For example: you can still get a Big Blizzard Bear. It just requires a fat credit card. Also, mounts like Peep cannot be accessed by ordinary players. Happy hunting! Oh here's mine as an example. I kinda suck Happy Birthday! http://www.bennlinger.com/mounts/view.php?...008200441A00001
  5. Achievements for Ulduar are on PTR...posting for both epic lols (can you spot the references?), and to give you guys a heads up on what to expect. Fair warning: some of these ARE placeholders, and may not make it into a later build. Talk to me, dammit! * In His House He Waits Dreaming (Experience all 5 visions of Yogg-Saron's mind on Normal Difficulty.) Perhaps this is linked to all those YouTube audio snippets involving Garona, Arthas, Ysera, etc.. * The Undying, Part Two (Within one raid lockout period, defeat every boss in Ulduar on Normal Difficulty without allowing any raid member to die during any of the boss encounters.) Hell, not again! According to Blizzard, this will NOT be part of the Drake meta. Thank god for small favors. If my math is right, that's about 64 Achievements for this dungeon alone. Oh my.
  6. Our 10-man is less pink now! Waaaah! ;_; At least you're taking that wonderful loading screen tip to heart, and moderating your dosage of Warcrack.
  7. You got a lotta farkin' badges. You also have a lotta farkin' alts. Those heirloom items on the badge vendor look pretty tasty. But you can't figure out if it's worth the trouble of slapping them on your lazy alt or WIP twink. http://quickarmory.com/heirloom.php This handy-dandy site does the work for you: - The top option lists the stats for one item across all 80 levels. It also lists the armor type of armor it becomes around the L40 range, which is primarily useful for hunters & shaman (who graduate to using mail around then). - The bottom option lists every heirloom for an entire level range. Wanna buy both a staff AND trinkets AND shoulders for someone stuck at L50? Use this to see if it's worth the trouble. - Some items will seem to scale poorly around L50+. VERY poorly. This changes at L58 & 68 respectfully, because this is usually when players cross over the gear threshold for the next expansion pack(s). For example... Not very impressive. Heck, most caster MH/OH combos from BRD or Dire Maul can scale better than this. But push yourself one more level (Outland ahoy!), and... That's a lotta spellpower, and it scales very nicely from there to compete with many Outland staves. Q: I don't see a durability level on this stuff... A: There is none! No matter how many times you die, Heirlooms do not cost money to fix. Q: Can I enchant this stuff? A: Only with enchants that do not have any actual level limit...ie - the same stuff that works on a L1 character. Some examples: - +15 Agility (Timbermaw Hold enchant) - +30 Spell Power (old MC enchant) - Crusader - Fiery Weapon (lol) - Scopes DO NOT work. Shoulders can be enchanted also, but there's only so many you can use. Some examples... - Mantles from the Argent Dawn (sold at Light's Hope) work. - Greater Inscription of the Gladiator WILL work, but it is being hotfixed soon. Grab em before it's too late! - Pre-BC enchants which dropped from L60 Sapphiron still work. Use these wisely, however, since Sapph doesn't drop 'em anymore. Despite what the enchant tooltip will say, it will NOT bind to your character. You can still chuck it in the mail for later use. Q: Any bugs or surprises included with these? A: The Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon and Charmed Ancient Bone Bow are currently bugged, and are STILL bugged as of the latest PTR push. Steady Shot is still using stats from the L1 variation of the weapons to calculate damage, gimping any possible hunter rotations. Reforged Truesilver Champion cannot be Runeforged by Death Knights. This may also apply to the Bloodied Arcanite Reaper. Happy shopping!
  8. http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=42702.0 Yay. New PTR build. Lotta class changes & a crazy Parry enchant. While I don't normally say much following a PTR phase, this made me smirk: Wonder what they spiked peoples' tears with to finally push this change.

    Kalea!

Wow. Happy Birthday Mama Moo! Or is it Gramma Moo now? *offers a box of ribbons for when Baracko grows his tail stump back*
  10. - We need about 70k overall raid DPS to do this (24k for 10-man). Think we got 69,333 according to that last WWS. Not sure where exactly the problem is (I spend most of the fight playing Simon with my cooldowns, and I'm still looking at the full log), but that averages out to around 4200+ DPS per...err, DPSer. Hmm... - Keep Amplify Magic on all 3 tanks. That way we stay alive during Enrage next time, seeing as it's all physical damage, and it will provide a considerable boost to the offtank with Bacon of Light EDIT: Little tips in regards to Puff the Magic Dragon... - Curse of Elements should be refreshed during the P1-P2 transition. I'm pretty sure some debuffs still remain on Malygos. If they don't, could we use the warlock suicide trick (dismount, chuck CoE on the boss during P3)? - To save time and get stacks started early, Malygos in P3 can be targeted as soon as he finishes the phrase "...ten times over!" in his RP speech. - In the event of a wipe call, don't wait for Malygos to kill you in P3. Just dismount, and let gravity do the hard work for you. - The enrage timer is NOT synched to the Achievement timer if we plan to shoot for 6 minutes. Someone with their eyes peeled should turn on the Achievement timer via checking off the box in the Achievement menu. Make sure the timer resets between wipes as well. - If you have trouble with stacking debuffs, here's some rotations you can try out (use the Aces High daily to practice if needed), taken from Wowhead. 1 is the fire attack, 2 is the stacking flame debuff. Nrg = energy, respectfully.
  11. Holyssa and her younger sister Hikoria stumble into her Silvermoon estate, looking very tired after a hard day's work. "Another day, another victory over the vile scum of the frozen north...", she muttered, lazily tossing her axe and shield onto a pile of futons in the corner of the living room. "You know, I hear there's been great progress made regarding the ol' ruins in the Peaks. You really should go up there every once in a while!" the young death knight happily exclaimed as she sloppily places a pile of the weekend's mail on a nearby desk. "...and it might beat going Vrykul-tipping every night. You really should explore the unknown a little more...take a break from all this head-bashing." "Odd hearing it from a death-knight. Then again, it's you I'm talking about.", she replied, a smile forming on her lips. "Whatever sleeps below there can stay snoozing for all I care. And if it awakens? We will crush it. I've taken on one Old God before. What makes you think I'll show fear in the face... "...maws, dear sister. Many of 'em, from what I hear.", the pale-skinned elf interrupted. "...ok, maws, whatever, of some ancient terror a second time?" The blood knight walked over to her desk, it's surface cluttered with jewel cutting materials, scattered scraps and ore bits, and glittering unfinished cuts scattered among the pile of letters. "My, the postman has been busy. Let's see what we have here..." Holyssa casually reaches into a small basket, pulling out a fresh bagel. After taking a large bite out of it, she proceeds to open each one. "...Dear sir, the Mage Union would like to remind you tha-- wait, this is father's old junk mail! Don't those fools realize how long he's been gone for? I swear, it's like they WANT me to start drinking again." Holyssa crumples up the letter, tossing it into a tiny metal pail beside the desk, reaching for an even smaller envelope. "...Congratulations adventurer! If you pass this flyer to fifty people, you too could be the proud winner of a custom-built Nesingwary 9001 Bush-smasher Extre---UGH! More garbage from those stubby-legged barbarians." The small letter is crumbled into her fist, and tossed into her pail as well. The next letter is poorly and hastily written, but is followed by a paw-shaped ink print. "Dear Holy: Bored. When can we kill stuff again? ~ Orcala. PS, bring food." "..." The letter is folded and tucked into her side pouch. "Dearest lady, my training with the Ashtongue refugees nears it's completion! Today I even tied a gnome's boot laces together under the cover of the shadows, and proceeded to shove him down the biggest staircase I could find. It was truly a sight to see. I hope you are doing well. Is Northrend really cold? I have just the outfit in mind for my first trip to Dalaran! Do keep in touch! ~ Cresalia Firefeather" "Why would she ask how cold Northrend is, sis?", Hikoria asked, not looking up from polishing her Titansteel mace, sitting indian-style beside her sister's work desk. "You don't want to know. That rogue has lost her marbles, but may the sun continue to bless her with courage. Hey, what's this thing?" The blood knight eyes a small scroll, bearing the insignia of the Clan Skullcrusher. The scroll is quickly unrolled, and her eyes dart from left to right reading over it's contents. "Well, what's it say?" Holyssa's jaw suddenly drops, and the blood knight falls over backwards, stunned by the letter's contents. "Sis?! Are you ok?" Hikoria rushes over to the dumbstruck sibling, taking the letter from her gloved hand, reading it over. "Oh my, a promotion! Truly a glorious day for the Fargleams, and Quel'thalas in a way. Now the Scourge have no chance!" The young death knight looks down at her sister as she lay in the middle of the floor, squatting down over her other hand, still tightly gripping the bagel. "...you gonna eat that?" ((Thanks guys!! I'm gonna try my best to help push us forward while having a blast at the same time ))
  12. Something to seriously consider for "Shocking!": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzTwsk4Hy3c This is the famous four-point strategy used long ago to kill 40-man Thaddius. Skip to about 2:50 minutes in, and even if your connection fails hard at life, turn on Hi Definition mode. The stuff prior to that is just Feugen & Stalagg. They did not make master happy. The fight back then was exactly the same, picture the area around Thaddius as if it had a "square" with four points: - Everyone begins standing in one spot, typically around the tank. Thaddius is dragged to an open spot. - During the first polarity change, Positives go right (counter-clockwise if you're facing the boss). Negatives will go left (clockwise). Getting the first shift correct is the trickiest part, and even 2 or 3 folks got jolted in the movie due to not being fast enough. - During the next shift: ~If your polarity changes, go left. ~If it remains the same, go right. - Repeat, and watch your combat log for accidental shocks. It is of utmost importance to leave your tunnel vision at the door with this tactic. - Don't forget to stack up tightly on top of each other, including your tank!
  13. As of 3.0.8, this is false. The achievement is gone from the meta, since it had so many bugs/problems with not going off during WotLK's release. http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=2138 However, if we still wish to pursue it before Naxx becomes alt-fodder, there's a great guide here, which requires a Demo-Shout spamming warrior: http://mirrorshield.blogspot.com/2009/02/h...oser-guide.html
  14. You must construct additional (bunny) pylons macros!
  15. Titles, mach-10 lizards, and the steaming pile of awesome that is the sense of accomplishing these tasks aside: I think accomplishing the 25-man Achievements is a great way to show that as a guild & tight-knit band of raiders, we can push ourselves to learn and conquer obstacles that are a real test of coordination, raid discipline (in before "douche"), and dedication to accomplishing a series of tasks. After witnessing how quickly we learned to thwomp Sarth +2D, I think we can definitely do this stuff. But it's gonna be tough, as most of these will require wiping & lots of number-crunching just to make sure the attempts go picture perfect (Shocking! comes to mind almost immediately).
  16. Your timing could not have come sooner, Kailand. Look! http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...&pageNo=1#0 Well, from a progression point it makes sense, I suppose.
  17. To make things easier for this Achievement-fest (and because Blizzard loves being too damned vague with the in-game descriptions), please read this Wowhead list of Glory of the Raider achievements, and click each one for tips and instructions. http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=2137#. The reward is a 310% speed plagued Proto-drake. Nothing feels more satisfying than seeing a giant diseased lizard jam-packed into your mailbox
  18. http://www.mmotactics.com/strategy_guides/...harion-3-drakes Probably the most colorful and tactic-rich site I've seen so far, and it's fairly new. Judging from the amount of classes the guide suggests, it's probably for the 25-man version, although 10-man shouldn't be too different with a bit of adjustment. - Lots of pics with positioning details. Oh, skip to 3:45 on the video with the Many Whelps parody for the real Sarth fight. lol - Positions for tanks and healers for each "phase", and a general time-line of how long it should take to kill this lizard once a plan is put to work. - Tactics for using plate-heads (warriors/paladins), druids, and even the Little Blue Demon that Could (Voidwalkers) for tanking. I know we have a lot of tricks and tactics for doing this with our own roster's makeup, but this should provide something to pick your brain with
  19. ...I'm at a loss for words. So here's a truck.
  20. Wow. Grats Maube & family!!
  21. *points at the Edit Post button* I swear, you're blind. I too will be out tonight with everyone's favorite AFKing furry. Do your best in Naxx tonight!
  22. http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=40602.0 My god, it all looks sexy. Oh, dual-spec costs 1000g. Not TOO bad. I'm drooling over the new blacksmithing stuff. The stuff involving Shield of Righteousness doesn't bug me, since the added threat was removed back in 3.0...although it did give me a heart attack upon first seeing it. No babies will be eaten...yet. Val'anyr = the new Atiesh. Although it's called a gavel (generally associated with healing in WoW, based on the old BC healing items), I'm hoping multiple variations exist for people looking for a new tanky/DPS weapon. Kinda like how Atiesh had multiple forms for each class. Sanctuary pretty much became useless to all other tanky types. I hope they give Engineers more than what's listed...I mean, it's a flashlight. Screenshots rescued from the MMO Champion clutter/QQ sea: This is what happens when you buy the skill. Like many money-sinks, it awards an achievement! http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_093005.jpg Here's the new Talent Window once you blow your hard-earned gold: http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_093802.jpg The new Equipment Manager. It's no Outfitter, but I'm hoping they flesh out the kinks so I have one less addon to manage: http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_120036.jpg A pic of a swimming mammoth. WTB buffalo mount so we can make water buffalo gags. http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_121320.jpg Monty Python? In MY WoW? These new Achievements earn my love: http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_125502.jpg More stuff from the new Argent Crusade tournament thingy: http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_125506.jpg My god, those prices! New Kirin'tor rings, which require 1000g AND the old super-expensive ring. http://www.flawless-stormrage.eu/naraxi/Wo...2409_131111.jpg Noblegarden/Easter achievements are plentiful. the holiday now lasts an entire week too: http://ryannktsu.armadaweb.com/PTR/noblegarden1.jpg http://ryannktsu.armadaweb.com/PTR/noblegarden2.jpg http://ryannktsu.armadaweb.com/PTR/noblecalendar.jpg A tooltip for the new Val'anyr mace fragment: http://i42.tinypic.com/2wcfs55.jpg The Darkmoon Faire will soon get some Achievement love. There's nothing there yet though. http://ryannktsu.armadaweb.com/PTR/darkmoon.jpg LFG Tool got a facelift also, but this is from a German Client: http://bayimg.com/image/janblaabm.jpg - Role-filling buttons. Although with the new dual-spec stuff, why not just click all three? http://bayimg.com/image/janbnaabm.jpg - New icons for what you are looking for, ex: tank, healer, and/or DPS. Very cool. As if the game needed to be more Stupid-Proof, here's what color-blind mode does. It (literally) shows you an item's quality. Although if your vision is that bad, why are you even playing WoW to begin with? http://worldofwarcraft.judgehype.com/scree...0/divers/01.jpg Instance dungeon maps. Will Atlas go the way of the do-do bird also? http://www.worldofraids.com/gallery/showim...i=4418&c=15 Datamined Achievements. http://a.wirebrain.de/wow/wotlk/ach/9614?diff=1 My god, I want that title. EDIT as of 2/25/09: Dual Specs just got sexy on itself: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...=1&pageNo=1 * Level requirement has been lowered to 40. You still gotta pay the 1000g fee. * Reagent requirement (Lexicon of Power) has been removed. No more pocket Inscription buddy. * Cooldown has been removed, though you cannot swap specs in combat, or in Arenas/Battlegrounds. 1000g doesn't seem like TOO much of a stretch at L40 for gatherers, unless you're on a new realm or a brand new player. Very nice changes that I can only hope will remain on live.
  23. *looks around curiously* ...ok, I always wanted to try this at least once. *launches out of catapult* Falcon-Puuuuuuuuuuuuunch! *smashes into the boss, vaporizing it...along with the loot* ...rez plz.
