  1. Checkers is "just a game", Warcraft is not. The MMO is something entirely different. The MMO is in a different dimension than most other "games". It has all the elements of all the "just a game" types but goes way beyond that in many scopes. Mostly due to the personal investment, time spent, and relationships formed. Anyhow, let me outline what I feel a guild should and should not be. I acknowledge Im abit off, but I want and expect more from the people I spend time with. Some of these things are so simple but seem to need to restated. First and foremost, I think a guild should be about good friends. We are an online club, a pseudo-family, that gets together to experience our "game" together. As such, a guild should be a fun supportive team for all members not just a few. Everyone should feel able to ask for help and should readily recieve it. Everyone should make it their responsibility to take care of everyone else. Be generous when you can, and accept help when others can help you. Especially those of us online alot. We should make it a point to really help out the player with the least time to play. Also, everyone should have some say in guild matters, and should speak up when there is something to be said. It is everyone responsibility to point out things that are good as well as the bad. Let it be known when your mate should be acknowledged for something great. On the other hand, let your mate know when he is out of line. Disagreements will come, someone will make you made, but try to keep in mind no family goes without these things. Keep in mind there is always a good way of resolvinig it. Our guild should not be competitve over petty things. Everyone should be glad for the accomplishments of their mates. Our guild should not be subjected to anyone's epeen. We will all cheer you and will be glad for your material gains, but only if you've earned our respect. We will not respect you nor be glad for your gains, if you cheer yourself. You will be honored and respected when your clan knows you care about them and the guild. You can not bring honor to your clan with your ego. You will be revered when you show the strength of modesty. Never forget, we are all responisble to all other members for our public behavior and thus our reputation. Dont let your clan mates down.
  2. Where to begin...I guess Ill start with abit of history to benefit those "new" to the clan and those with failing memory. I took on the role as guild leader for the first time in early '05, after Grulg leading since beta. At the time Skullcrusher Orc Clan was about a 10-15 person guild. I decided to try and keep it going because I had already invested myself into it, and decided it was an opportunity to take and run with. Ive ran guilds in various games since late 90's so I was no stranger to the role. I slowly built the guild up, one quality person at a time. We grew in reputation too. We had the label "rping guild" due to being on a RP server. I never was a fan of labels, but I was glad that we were respected as a pillar of the lore based environment on Argent Dawn. Many players knew us from the way we used the "orc blah". We have a special and unique foundation upon lore that carries on somewhat today. We grew and prepared for eventually the big league raids and content, on our own terms. Time came that I needed to leave the game. The elders decided that Maube would be best to take the guild leader position. We had a great start on the end game. Membership was on the rise. People were for once coming to us for raiding as opposed to leaving to find that elsewhere. Maube led the guild to Molten Core personally and many others pitched in to lead members elsewhere. It was a very productive and active time. Upon release of the first expansion, i found it a good time to return to game. Every thing seemed well enough, but there was brewings of big change. There is no single thing to point to that explains why the guild fell in the way it has. Divergent goals, lack of real loyalties, ego, insufficient opportunity, leadership issues, etc etc led to a downward spiral for several months. It was a difficult time for the guild. Over months of time, the guild issues raged and drama came like crashing waves. When time came that Maube needed to quit and devote her time to family, the leadership looked upon Aletia(aka Raeda) for some stability and leadership. Aletia and the remaining clan eventually came to an equalibrium. Aletia and those loyal to the guild withstood, and here we are today. I now come full circle. Once again, I find myself I the position to assume the leader role. Once again, I will take the reins and do what I can to make everyones WoW experience the best I can. Yet, I am just one player. Ill need the faith and support of all of you. *edited because i shouldnt be allowed to post precoffee

    Clan Meeting

Please plan on joining us near the south entrance of Orgrimmar on Sunday at 8 PM server for an important guild meeting.
  4. Crikrunner knows him some sloppy
  5. I am. But, no Gronn killing for Vol before beddiebye for my lil orclings. 9 or 10ish most nights.
  6. Simply put, casters can most immediately increase dps(or hps) with the priority of damage/healing > hit > crit. Google to find the math if that would be more sufficient. I have to disagree. It is understood and and found to be a waste. Ive yet to find any serious support for it. Spell Penetration is basically useless. Resistance of high level mobs is due to level difference, not spell resistance. Again, google and read beyond these links for the math. It can be deceiving but... DoT damage is calculated upon hit and applyed over its duration. DoTs dont not act, as DD, each tick having chance to be "resisted".
  7. Yes! Generally, all you need is 40pts Spell Hit (rounding) to make up for the innate base miss chance vs. same level target.
  8. As you know, your character has a multitude of combat ratings. One set of ratings are specific to spell casting abilities. These spell ratings are: Spell Hit, Spell Penetration, Spell Crit, and Spell Haste I like to keep things simple, so this will not be a deeply mathematical posting(click the links for the math). However, simply remember the higher the numbers, the better and the higher your character level the less potent the same spell rating will be. For example, 14 Spell Crit. ratiing = +1% Spell crit at level 60 but only about +0.6% at level 70. Different ratings are more important to different classes and in different situations. Hopefully, discussion will follow to illustrate that. Spell Hit increases a caster's chance to hit with spells. Or rather, the more spell hit gear (and talents) you have the less the chance an enemy will "resist" your spells. A spell that fails to hit is displayed as a resist, although this is different than spell resistance mechanic and leads to some confusion. Your base chance to hit is based on the level difference between you and your target. There is always a 99% Spell hit rating max. Effectively, you want +3% chance to hit for PvP and +16% for PvE/raiding. Some important numbers for a level 70 caster are: 12.6 points of spell hit = 1% chance to hit which means the effective cap 202 spell hit points Spell Penetration reduces your enemies resistance to your spells. In other words, it overpowers an enemie's spell resistance. Important to remember: 1 pt of Spell Penetration negates 1pt of resistance. Although, Spell Penetration has no effect upon resistance due to level difference. Enemies get a base 5 resistance per level higher than you. It is widely believed that Spell penetration is only marginally useful at this time. Spell Crit rating is the chance to do extra damage per spell cast. Your base crit chance is a product of your Int stat, increased generally 1% per 80 Int @level 70. Talents, items, additional buffs, spells, totems, you name it can increase this effective number. Base damage increase is 50% but can be increased also with talents. On items, 22 Spell Crit Rating = 1% Crit. Spell Crit is regarded as less "effective" than Spell hit point for point realistically. However, many great and wonderful effects only happen upon a crit. Therefor, the importance varies greatly. Spell Haste is the rating which determines casting speed. Soon to get a boost in coming patch to be more effective and therefor more desirable. Soon Spell Haste of 15.76 points = 1% increased cast speed. Currently it you need 21 pts to gain 1%. Not alot of significant info is around about this stat. nor is the stat a huge focal point. The reason we likely haven't seen it much yet is because so far, spell haste gear only drops at the highest levels. Currently, most haste comes in the form of temporary buffs that allow you to get a few fast casts off. (Most common to our troll friends.) It is regarded as devastating in PvP, and is where it shines most. Now, simply speaking, Spell Hit, Crit and Penetration work in symphony when a spell is cast. It is easy to think of spell results in a three step process. (Three rolls for us old Pen and Paper gamers.) First roll, does the spell hit or miss? Second roll, does it crit?(natural 20 woot) Third roll, how much damage penetrates? Advise is to seek to increase your +damage, +hit, then +crit in order priority (generally speaking). Please discuss, and/or link to better info.
  9. Tried a different browser on that comp? Reinstall the browser you like? Ive not run into such a specific browsing problem personally. Perhaps asking in The Honor Empire's chitchat forum (computer help area) might find more knowledge about the grand tubes assembly. Happy Birthday!
  10. We are lacking a 10th person on Fri. Sept. 15th. I think someone capable of ranged dps would be helpful since we are aiming for Curator. Guilozak is coming again so healing is all set. Thank you Renzokuken for joining us Happy Birthday!
  11. Happy Birthday to the "real" clan elder.
  12. All persons interested in extending this raid to two nights say: "hells yeah!" Those that have attended Fridays will have first "dibs" and a weighted vote w/r/t weather this goes forward but... It is my hope that we can include some folks in that wouldnt otherwise have an opportunity. It is my hope we can increase our fun and prosperity for all involved. It is possible that you may attend one night and not another. It is possible you can join with an alt. based on needs of the group. It is also a possibility that this just spawns into an altogether separate raid. Speakth and let it be doneth
  13. Seems my comp. problem is spreading. Crikrunner's computer busted. He wanted me to pass word along to the Grull's/Mag. crew that he is most likey a giant dildo...er no, thats not it... I mean he wants you to know he is most likely out of the raid tonight and he is sorry.

    Hello All

I would rather enjoy helping make some flims. We wont be asked to go in the nude will we? Or will we?
  15. Well, Friday Fright Nights are under way. Ive gotten some more interest and the possibility that there can also be a Tuesday Terror night is becoming more viable. However, another fun endeavor I have in mind is organized PvP. No keys nor frontal lobes needed. Any night will work as there is no lame dungeon ID bullcraparama. Any number will of blokes will do and class balance is an after thought. Who is interested in some lively adrenaline pumping stress relieving decimation of several legions of the Alliance on the regular? *oh you folks that tell me you arent "into" peeveepee must not know what fun you are missing. Just come to be with your mates and enjoy some mindless fun if nothing else.
