  1. Getting your inherited saber for the Sith Inquisitor was hilarious to me. The end boss fight he has three cronies there, and I assumed it'd be a fight for the lightsaber... but instead I was given an option to ask the cronies if they really wanted to die. I took that option and the "boss" backed down and gave me the lightsaber. All I can say is... Best Boss Fight EVER! I was prepared for a lengthy fight as well, buffed and stimed up.
  2. That would be wonderful if you did, in the least we can communicate and get acquainted with everyone. I have to head off to work and it's a long day so I won't be around till Saturday I fear. But I will be around and we all can work game together if possible. edit - But as I've said before I would be willing to re-roll elsewhere if needed.
  3. So apparently there wasn't a wipe with characters. But I'm more than willing to start up elsewhere with a new character. Server: Canderous Ordo Character Name: Syban (Sith Inquisitor)
  4. Very nice, the only issue I'd bring up (And to be totally honest it's not really an issue) is the hard drive sizes. But if you know what you're storing and why you're storing it, that wouldn't be an issue at all. And the price is right in my book. Tell me how it works out, I really need to upgrade the rigs I have and I've been eyeballing new gear for awhile now.
  5. Hey gang, I just came off a long shift at work and I fear I won't be around for the morning log in time. So I started this thread so we can coordinate which server we're all going to jump to for this weekend. So if I'm up and around when the craziness starts I'll post which server and my characters names so we can hook up for some guild'ish fun!
  6. I have to say the few times I ran it in Weekend Beta the last boss was brutal to say the least. Even the one just before him was tough cookies mainly because I couldn't seem to "stun lock" one of the mobs. All in all it was pretty intense and getting thrown off the rails and insta-dying in the pit was "exciting".
  7. Hrrrm, this leads me to another question. Can you pick a common Legacy name? Since they don't seem to have much impact on the coded character parts? The reason I ask is I'm probably going to pick a very common "Legacy" name and if I'm running around with say "Skywalker" and someone else wanted to pick that will they be able too as long as our first names are different?
  8. Thank you for posting the TS info Calendar, I'm really stoked to game with everyone. It seems via The Old Republic's twitter account that if you opted-in for Beta testing you'll be invited this next go around so if anyone didn't make it in last time by all indications you'll get an invite this next go around. See everyone there!
  9. I agree, or if it does involve a client download it'll just be patches for us... either way, I hope it worked out for me like it did last weekend, I had it off. That being said, any way we can coordinate our online efforts a little tighter this next go around?
  10. Ugh I totally agree with the underpowered statement. I can't tell you how many times half way through an instance people would ask if I was healing or not... As for the other classes, they felt underpowered as well. I get the point that the "end game" needs to be healthy for the longevity of the game itself, but it's the journey (as the class quests have shown us) that keep us going tell then. As a healer in those instances I felt as though I was one second behind in healing no matter how "on the ball" I was. I noticed that my shield ability was the key to actually healing successfully in those instances, which in my opinion is opposite of what I'm used too. Overall, I'm very concerned that we're one month away from launch on this puppy. I'm sure there will be advancements in the game, but right now it feels (barring the storyline and voice acting) like an MMO I've played time and time again over five years ago.
  11. I wasn't aware of the server issues or how many there would be either. I (naively) assumed that the game would be stable enough I could just "pop" on to your guys server and join up with you. I tried for a few hours to get into the Sword server but had honestly no luck at all. I could re-join the server I started in easy peasy, but it took me over two hours just to get a queue line for Sword. (That to me is more of a server side hardware issue than population issue, which was the primary reason to do this test in the first place.) The only reason I brought this up, is if we have a better way to dissimulate information to guildies on which server to join in these limited periods, I would be more than happy that it be implemented is all. I was very excited to game with you guys, but the opportunity for that seemed muted. And I have to agree with the play-styles and personal choices. Just an observation on my point was all. To be honest even though I felt the "MMO fatigue" this weekend, the limited test left me feeling like a "junky".
  12. Well that was intense and an enjoyable experience. A few things I noticed, we definitely need to coordinate our server, once you get leveled up to the 20's and beyond group quests become such common fodder that finding groups is a necessity. Some other things I noticed unlike WoW, the critical class in groups is the tank. (in my humble opinion) With that being said, though I thoroughly enjoyed playing my Sith Inquisitor healer, I may if it's needed roll a tank to start with for the guild if no one else picks that roll up. Once again, I have to stress we will need to coordinate our efforts in a start server so we can help each other out instead of spinning our wheels looking for groups for flashpoints and the like.
  13. Currently on Candareous Ordo server Syban - Sith Inquisitor.
  14. Hey everyone, I read something about a TS server? Mind passing me the info in a PM? Thank you. Sy
  15. Oddly enough, I'll be there as well. This it seems will be a great time for us peeps to start grouping and hammering out how the guild will be in game. See you guys there and I'll keep you all posted on my contact information in game.
  16. Thank you, though I invite anyone with an editor(ial) spirit to make it more cohesive and understandable is welcome to it.
  17. In the darkness of a three hundred year exodus the Empire needed control and justice to survive. A band of elite peace keepers rose without impetus by the powers that be to create and help foster the stability needed for life in the cold reaches of the Unknown Universe. The band that rose was Vigilance in name and purpose, greed tarnishes growth, fear breaks progress and all those who would harm without justice in their hearts would kill the very seed that the Empire has promised. Vigilance was our birthright and Vigilance is now our goal. Force without Justice is Tyranny, Justice without Force is impotent.
  18. Healer of course... though I like tanking in WoW. Never been a big fan of DPSing.
  19. Hello everyone, good to see everyone still about to be honest. I'm all for the name then come up with history option. Besides all the names I could come up with had the "Guardians, Light, Dark, Evil, Republic, Empire, etc" problem.
  20. Personally I find Vigilance to be a good starter name, though any background (RP) history that is developed can flavor what the name could be.
  21. I have to say the tone of this Cinematic Trailer is the tone I'm looking for in ToR. With the lavish beauty and breath-taking look this trailer is top notch, the last time I saw a CinTrailer look this good was with WoW. P.S. Yea Dark side!
  22. Video HERE! Seems kind of cool, though I'm reserving my full thoughts for now. Sy
  23. As for heading this, I'm not to sure I would be the best choice for that. My last term as leader here didn't end so well and I don't want to give a chance for a second coming. That being said my full support and as much time as I can spare will be thrown into this if the info and game look good. Now onto the meat... I'm getting some info indicating they may be building a game where the initial levels are a 'solo endeavor' and the end game will be full of raid material. Kind of the lesson WoW learned after Burning Crusade came out where they lowered level experience and uped quest rewards so people could get to the end game quicker. So that being said a guild would benifit just as much as it does now in WoW. Also it seems they may be planning on more than just Jedi. That could drive cannon geeks up the wall if a soldier is just as powerful as a Jedi/Sith. But that could add depth to the game than just a bunch of overweight nerds living in their parents basements swinging computer generated glowy sticks at each other all day and calling each other losers... maybe I'm projecting to much? In any event many of the choices we would have to make for a guild will be driven by the info they'll eventually release, lets hope that's soon. Also, many online games these days have been opening up earlier in beta for 'large guilds' that join the beta programs. If this is a route Bioware/Lucasarts takes I think with a little goosing we can up our chances of getting into any beta they offer. Keep our ears to the ground and if anyone has any information on that sort of beta plan post it here. Talk to everyone soon, Sy
  24. Ok, so some interest for this game is evident... now on to the planning stages. Name, theme and association for a T.H.E. guild. I'm not to sure on a name, Imperial Trade Consortium (I.T.C.) was nicely done and I have fond memories of that abbreviation but I'm sure that name wouldn't apply so well to this new MMO. In addition I think a guild name would largely reflect our guilds theme and association, say if we go Sith building a guild theme based on happy go lucky lollipop makers wouldn't fit. So that leads me to believe both name and theme are going to be hard to decide until we get an affiliation chosen. Theme, see above. Affiliation, I happen to favor being affiliated with the Sith. It has plenty of RPing opportunity and leaves the choice of being ruled by our emotions. Another point that may affect our guild direction would be the game mechanics, I'm talking classes and the NPC thing they're hinting at. If they make an MMO that operates like the original KotOR games with NPCs that follow you around and do what you say making a guild would seem less important to the average player. That and if everyone is a Jedi/Sith it would drive how the guild is created. (Thematic and Name.) Just some points and thoughts anyones opinion would be greatly appreciated. Talk soon, Sy
  25. This is something I've been holding my tongue on for awhile now. I didn't want to step to far forward and get my heart (or that pulpy mass that passes for it) smashed again. Now that it's been announced I'd like to move forward on planning our association in this game. Questions will have to be answered such as Sith or Galactic Republic and guild themes. I'm excited to see this coming out and with a strong base community that we have I know we can make a stellar guild in this MMO. Are you with us... Syban Ferin-Sha
