  1. Lady Ulanie will be happy to take one of the smith slots for an hour. She is Legendary Smith but also GM Tailor, if you run short of those. Cheyenne would be happy to be a bank gater for the other hour of the event. Do we need to provide our own resources for enhancing/item creation purposes? Looking forward to it, Lora! Thank you for getting this together!

  5. Happy Birthday, Lora! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!
  6. At the guild meeting, two days later, Kaatya tells of their attempts to free Steel from his captors. “We battled long and hard, defeating every scurrilous minion that inhabited that hellish place. Our supplies running dangerously low, we sent Ben to muster up some reinforcements. No sooner had he left, than the odious master appeared, the Lord of the Abyss. And now we were just three, though Guardians all.” “Arrows flew from our bows. Hudson used his magics and his music to our great advantage. The mighty balron focused his attack on Val DarKnight, taunting him all the while with stories of his brother’s torture. We could see the pain etched on Val’s face, but he did not waver. Twas his final arrow that dealt the death blow. The great hall shuddered as the nine-foot tall embodiment of evil crashed to the floor at Val’s feet.” “We felt elated, yet had no time for celebration. Unbeknownst to us, another pair of eyes had been watching and stepped forward with a bone chilling shriek. The remaining lifeforce was quickly drained from Hudson and I, and yet this succubus purposefully left us just barely conscious; it seemed she thrived on having an audience. She turned her attention to young Val and danced around his prone form, squealing with glee as he writhed in agony from the flames she bounced off his skin.” “You shall not have him.” It was not shouted, it did not reverberate off the walls. But rather, it was said with a deadly calm. The gaunt, ravaged form of Steel DarKnight stepped from the shadows, controlled fury evident in his every feature. His stony gaze held hers as his slow, determined steps brought him to where his brother lay; he positioned himself to shield Val from the vicious onslaught. Steel winced as the strong magics of the succubus hit him, but he did not retreat. “I no longer feel your tortures,” was said through gritted teeth as he stood his ground, his powerful sword cleaving through her in rapid succession. Her final insult was muffled by the massive hands that strangled the life from her. In disgust, Steel hurled her limp form against the far wall. “Wordlessly, he tended to our wounds and escorted us to safety. We could get no response to our exclamations of joy at seeing him again, our offers of assistance, our inquiries into his well-being. With a derisive look, he turned from us, gently gathered up his young brother, and left.” “Steel’s freedom has been secured, but he is very much a changed man. I dinna know what to expect from him these days, but I do know that we cannot fail him again.”
  7. "Cheyenne, you must go. My archery was of little use in Montor and I know your magics will be essential this day." And so it was, that Kodoz, Hudson, Liam de Vance, and Cheyenne set out for the Lake of Fire. The ruins of the once beautiful town were scoured, but no sign of an airship nor its treasure could be found. At Liam's insistence, the search was expanded to the surrounding mountainous area. "We must find this nest! For the greed of wyrms is well known, and tis possible she hoards the treasure." Four brave souls battled their way through throngs of creatures hell-bent on stopping them. But at last, they found the path that led to a high nest and were immediately set upon by an angry wyrm and her halflings. The Guardians were greatly wounded and pushed back by this onslaught. Kodoz called for the mages to summon a multitude of spirits of swirling blades and powerful energies. Using this tactic, the wyrm was defeated. "A map! A map!" called out Liam, after a search of the scorched and dented chests in the nest. His elation soon turned to frustration as none of the Guardians gathered were able to decipher it. "Tis indeed written in a strange hand. We MUST find one with the talent to interpret this!"
  8. Kaatya returned home, having spent yet another day seeking information which could help the family find the strange airship. Some townsfolk had looked at her quizzically, shaking their heads as they backed away from her. Those in the taverns had demanded coins and then delivered contradictory tales, the stout brew slurring their words and clouding their minds. She knew no more than she had when she started. The midday calm was disrupted as Lady Ulanie burst through the doors of Sanctuary, in a fine lather. “Kaatya! Where have you been?” Not waiting for an answer, nor barely taking a breath, she plunged ahead. “A most curious man stopped by here earlier today and now the Guardians are gathering in Haven! But not for long!” Within moments, Kaatya had calmed Ulanie down and listened to the normally reserved blacksmith tell of the morning’s activities. “A stranger to these parts paid me a visit this morning. I could tell by his manner that he was a gentleman, but he was most mysterious. He told me that he was a well-traveled man of adventure who did not stay in one place overlong. He had come to Novitus Sanctum as he had heard of the Guardian’s recent encounter with an airship. An airship, Kaatya! Can you imagine!” “Well, he did tell me that he had knowledge of such things but would not reveal it to me for any amount of coin. Being a man of adventure, he did challenge me to show him a thing he had never seen before. And so I told him of a fine statue, twice his size, which looked out to sea. Naturally, he insisted that I show him. And so we set off for Haven together. I was not sure if this was a ruse, but I thought it worth the effort.” “He seemed most pleased by the statue and recognized the likeness it bore to Helios. He remarked that it was as if the statue was looking to the east to catch the first rays of the morning sun. Long minutes did he spend in his enjoyment of this spot and finally, when I thought I could wait no longer, he agreed to share his knowledge of strange ships of air.” “Luckily I had dispatched runners earlier and just as he was about to speak, Kodoz arrived and listened with me as the man told his tale.” “Twas in Lakeshire, the home of a very talented shipwright, that two airships were crafted. I saw their timbers on the docks. Yes, two airships. The ‘Pride of the Sky’ and the ‘Wind Chaser’. These were cleverly made with flat bottoms so that they could land anywhere. When finished, a wizard cast spells upon each. But the magics of the ships corrupted the minds of the crew and they became mad, turning into pirates. Their ships grew heavy with the treasure they seized. They headed off to Montor, for they had heard of the volcanic eruption there and knew the area would be abandoned and a safe place to hide their cargo. They flew their ships over the great mountains near the Lake of Fire, but a colossal wyrm flew up from her nest just below them and destroyed the ‘Pride of the Sky’. The crew of Wind Chaser feared for their own lives and so left the Pride to its own fate. Rumor has it that the captain of the Pride survived and had plans to recover the enormous treasure of his laden ship, but alas, the captain died before he could return to Montor.”“ Kaatya, that is all he would tell us. And now Kodoz and Hudson have it in their minds to go to this mountain looking for clues. They did say I would be of little use in such a dangerous place and sent me to find members of the Legion to accompany them.”
  9. I am willing to bet that 90% of the people that play UO dont go and have NEVER been there Is it a bathtub???
  10. Oi, Steel. It indeed tugs at the heart strings when it is our children in the hospital. Bless her lil heart! As always, my thoughts will be with you and your family. Take care, friend.
  11. One of my gals will be going tonight .... it depends on who gets their chores done first. And I'll be sure to warn 'em to keep their yap shut about Logan's fellas. My apologies to Alec. For HONOR and Empire!
  12. Four souls gathered at Olympus in response to the call to arms. Runners were dispatched to the Guardian patrols directing them to proceed with due haste to The Abyss. “We dare not waste another minute, his Fate could well depend on what we do this night.” And so, with a word to Tod the Sentry, two archers and two mages set off for the desecrated ruins of Montor near the Ilshenar shrine of Chaos, home of the darkest evil in Sosaria. It seemed their arrival was expected, for awaiting them were a horde of creatures transformed from the stone of the lofty fortress, as well as those spawned in hell. But these proved small challenge for the talents and determination of those they assailed. Leaving dozens of corpses in their wake, the group of three Guardians, one halfbreed drow, and his fierce pet wyrm made their way cautiously up the slope. A stifling silence permeated the entrance to the vile Lord’s citadel but the pungent stench gave certain evidence of the perils which lay beyond. A moment was taken as the Guardians whispered a prayer to Mars, beseeching guidance and protection from the menace they would now confront. The massive door creaked open of its own accord, the murky darkness beyond broken only by the dulcet moonlight slipping through the meager slits cut into the sturdy stonework. Myriad niches and doorways branched off from the great hall whose walls towered well over thirty feet. And yet, all was silent — seemingly deserted. “Be not deceived Guardians. Tis great wickedness in this place. Prepare yerselves.”
  13. Count on Kaatya to be there, quiver full!
  14. Outstanding work, fellas! Thank you so much!
  15. The Council of HONOR meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Members in attendance were Emperor Logan, Senator of Arcane Earwen, Senator of Genesis Lora DeBlood, Senator of Trades Rusty, Senator of War Akroma, and Head of State Kaatya. A quorum was declared and the meeting proceeded. DECURION Resolved: The Empire shall have two Decurions; one will oversee the warriors and one will oversee the mages and herans. Senator Akroma remarked that she brought this Resolution forward at the request of Legion members because she felt they needed to be heard by the Council. Emperor Logan reminisced on his tenure as Decurion and reminded us of the amount of time and effort required by the position. He recommended that assistance be given by the Cohorts which would give the recruits more time with others in the guild. This would also give the Decurion more time to work on other issues. Senator Lora suggested that the names of the recruits also be given to the various Senators for additional assistance. There being no further discussion, a vote was taken. The resolution failed with a unanimous vote. VALOR KNIGHTS Resolved: A Treaty of Alliance shall be drawn up between the Valor Knights and the Purple Guardians of HONOR, and a ceremony of signature will be held at the Chamber of Virtues. This resolution received unanimous approval by the Council. AWARDS/MEDALS Resolved: Awards/Medals programs should be reinstated to give further incentive to everyone in the guild, to create goals to aspire to other than rank, which will keep everyone doing their best. Emperor Logan stated that these programs had never been "uninstated", but with the focus of leadership being on the rebuilding of the guild, awards and medals had received lower priority. Some awards/medals have recently been given out to members, if warranted. They can be seen on our Roster. There being no further discussion, a vote was taken. The resolution passed with one dissenting vote from Kaatya. COMPLAINTS TO EMPEROR Resolved: The Emperor will hold court one night during the week as well as every Sunday evening for the purpose of hearing complaints. Emperor Logan stated that he was not in favor of this resolution because he felt the Emperor should be the "last resort" when a settlement cannot be reached through other means. Guardians should continue to address their concerns through the established chain of command; Centurion, Imperator, Senator of War, Head of State. There being no further discussion, a vote was taken. The resolution failed with a unanimous vote. MAGISTRATES' UNIFORM Resolved (as amended): Magistrates' ceremonial uniforms should be altered to indicate their status on the Council as members but not voters, and therefore could carry the energy staff. Senator Akroma advised the Council that although Kodoz could not attend the meeting, he did want the members to see his concept for Magistrate uniform. Senator Akroma then donned dragon scale armor which had a slight purple hue, a purple apron, and carried an energy black staff. Emperor Logan questioned the absence of a kilt and made a motion to include a black kilt and send the resolution back to Kodoz for his consideration. Senator Lora recommended that we vote now but that the resolution not be adopted until Kodoz had agreed to the amendment. Head of State Kaatya asked if such armor would be appropriate for mages to wear, her concern being the two vacant Magistrate positions. Emperor Logan stated that more time was needed to see if leather could be dyed the same color as the "uncolored" dragon scale armor. By a show of hands, it was decided to table this resolution until the Council's next meeting. UNIFORMS (continued from prior meeting) Resolved: The ceremonial attire of the Head of State shall be black armor, black kilt, purple apron, crimson sash, a white cloak, a white hat, and an energy black staff. Head of State Kaatya donned this uniform, stating that the white cloak and hat were intended to coordinate with the Senator's white robes without seeming to be a Senator. This resolution received unanimous approval from the Council. Emperor Logan asked if any Senators had sent in requests to alter the representative color of their House. None had been received, so this matter is still pending. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. For HONOR and Empire!

  18. The first beams of a full moon shone down on a band of brave Guardians who had regrouped at Olympus following a foray into the Ophidian stronghold. As was the custom, the failings and successes of the various encounters were discussed among those gathered. The talk soon turned to that which dwelled uppermost in each Guardian’s mind, the plight of Steel DarKnight. A few members of the band were dispatched to reinforce the Guardian patrols in dungeon Hythloth and the spider nest of Ilshenar. The remaining four directed their focus to studying the tomes laying under the watchful eye of Tod the Sentry, the most recent of which had been translated by a stranger with an unmistakable reference to the Moonglow cemetery. Though it had been searched in the past, the group decided to venture forth again seeking the next Book. Long did they stay there, many foul creatures fell, but neither Chest nor Book were found. “Let us search all cemeteries” said one. And so they set off, determined not to leave a stone unturned until Steel was found. The cemetery of Yew was the sixth one scrutinized; among the brittle bones of a fallen skeleton, a well-worn tome was found written in Steel’s hand, recounting the history of himself and his family. “This one is most strange, not at all like the other two. It gives no hint, no direction to follow in our quest. It serves only to add to the sorrow of our heavy hearts.” “Be not discouraged, Guardians!” called out one of the group as she pointed to the rooftop of a nearby house. “Do you not see it? The glow of the moon reflects brightly off the tiles, revealing a distinctive chalice — the sign of HONOR!” A violent wind blew from the east, bending the trees almost to breaking, scattering debris throughout the cemetery, nearly unseating the mounted Guardians. A dreadful hiss was heard, understood by only one of the group. Val DarKnight stood erect, fury sparking from his eyes, a stony look came over his face as he uttered, “Abyss”.
