  1. Allo Allo.  If you're looking for someone to take you around add me to your icq list - 16128976.  I'd be happy to help you do whatever it is you are looking to do!

  2. Hi all!  Its your friendly Warlock Centurion LizShue!

Wait wait wait that was not nearly bad-ass enough.

Bow Infidels! Lady LizShue, Leader of the Warlocks has arrived!

    Groovy.

Seeing as how I have no idea who is remaining in the warlock cohort, I'd like to get a sound off.  If you're a warlock (or want to be one) post here & give me an ICQ 16128976.  Also if you're a "PGoH" leader and have some way of getting a list of names currently called "Warlocks" & associated ICQs that would be appreciated as well.

I am starting to play more and more UO recently with all the scenerio additions and I would like to at least do my part to bring the Warlocks back to prominence.  Used to be everyone wanted to be one!

Cheerio... err I mean Be Gone, simpletons!

    Balandar edit:

The Warlock Cohort consists of all pure mages of all race.  Pure mages defined as those who use magic as a main defensive force, may have secondary weapon skill.  Under the direct command of the Centurion Warlock.
  3. I believe changes are happening with UO.  Within the last 6 months alone the scenario content has been simply amazing.  Love them or hate them, it has been alot of new content.  BODs, Savage Items, Orc Items, Arcane Items, Jukans, Now Dragon Scale - tons of new items.   New land areas (Gargoyle).  New craftables.  New rule changes (Certain spells doing more damage, using less reagents, delay in using wands (this was a new one to me).  The list goes on and on.

I can barely stand seeing people post on public message boards about how boring this game is when the dev team has IMO been doing an OUTSTANDING job of giving players new stuff to fool around with.  Sure they aren't 100% but theres always something new to do in UO.

UO is easily the deepest MMORPG I've ever seen.

    Error applying patch

    Error during session

Your client may not be the most recent version.

You may be able to play the game with your current client.

Click OK to play the game or Cancel to abort.

Ive read quite a number of posts about an error applying that patch on the uoss boards.  Perhaps this is something that will be addressed by OSI very soon.  I'm not sure - it worked fine for me!

The new backpack gumps are great - now they are the same size as the old (2d) one so I can make sure I have a deathrobe properly positioned over my reagent pouch.

  5. Hi all,

    I recently got a new computer (1.7 GHz P4, 384MB Ram, 40Gig HD, 64mb GeFORCE3)!!!!!!

    Now I rule! =)

I installed the UO:3d client and it runs like butter on my new machine.  Its actually quite an impressive client, it just needs so much more juice to run than the 2d client.  Anyways I've started exploring Ilshenar a bit and I noticed the frequency of monsters is astonishing.  If anyone would like to head to Ilshenar with me to do some serious hunting please give me an ICQ as I need some serious support!  I have to keep a cadre of 5 demons with me wherever I travel now and its really killing my karma =)

So let me know if you're interested in heading to Ishenar!

  6. I thought the new items and creatures were very interesting and fun to play with and against.  However the story-line was fairly difficult to grasp without doing some external reading.  A town crier once said "The orcs have fled from their villages to underground caves", which introduced the savages, but other than that I had no idea what the final outcome of the scenario was/is.

Is it correct that the savages sort of "won" the battle?

Just to clear a few things up, here is what's going on.

Not quite, mainly this still is based upon the skill of the caster(s). For example, if you are an experienced PvP Pure Mage and fighting a less experienced PvP Precasting Mage, 9 times out of 10 the experience wins out.

I agree skill (and of course ping) always wins out - the points I was trying to make were assuming equal skill and ping, I should have mentioned that.

  8. I sometimes think OSI just doesn't get it.  Who is pre-casting helping?  The warriors!  Without the insta-hit there is no point to mage pre-casting.  Heres the rub:

    Mage v. Mage:

With precasting back, mages will again drop inscription/poisioning/healing/hiding/ etc and pickup wep skill + tactics.

A mage w/o a weaponskill  vs. a mage w/ weaponskill and precasting will lose hands down.

A mage w/ weaponskill and precasting vs. a warrior now has a tougher time of things as they have droped inscription/healing/poisoning, and the mages weapon can't insta hit - making it worthless.

A warrior gains the ability to pre-cast greater heal and sit on it, with no disadvantages.

In short, by adding pre-casting but not insta-hit the mage suffers versus other magi if he keeps inscript(etc) but suffers vs warriors if he picks up the weapon skills for mage v. mage combat.  Meanwhile the warrior is gaining a bonus perk of sitting on a gheal/gcure (/mindblast etc for a med warrior).

Pre-casting without the insta hit is actually a NERF to mages, not some sort of bonus.

    *sighs*

  9. Well I haven't been on ICQ in a month or so - now I'm afraid to open it and deal with all the messages in question.  So if you really want this Painting you'll have to find my vendor!

    Muahhahaha.

    Felucca

Snake's Pass (Look on UOAM between Brit and Minoc)

Classic 4-room patio in the middle of Snake's Pass called "Snake's Pass Supplies".  The vendor (Lawrence) is right out in front decked out in purple.

So good luck findin' that and what-not.  TeeHee.

    -LizShue

PS I tried to sell this to Old Blind Man (?) once but the server crashed and then I stopped using ICQ so if any of you know him and want to find my vendor for him - please do.

God this post got long and unwieldy.  Sorry I'm tired and at work and dont feel like editing this.

  10. I have recently "spawned" a new blood!  His name is "Savage Ust'Atha".  I've been having great fun playing a (polite) savage.  I have started from scratch with my 1000 newbie gold.  I'm working on fencing (tribesmen must have spears), cooking (for tribal paint, of course!), tinkering (bolas!), anatomy, healing, tactics, a dash of magery, poisoning, hiding, and tracking.

So far its been great.  Soon I will be able to afford to buy some paint from someone so I can look the part!  And eventually, I shall destroy the murderous ork-kin!!

    HUUURRRRAAAAAA

Congrats.  It's a nice feeling.  Especially when you haven't "trained" like most people do.  Looks like you did it with style too in Khaldun.

Oh yeah Khaldun is, as Minsc would say, "Great fun!".  After I moved to Felucca that is the first place I went.  I especially love the puzzle chests (free loot!).  I'm also trying to collect all the journals of the key characters (Tavara, Morg, Lysander).  I'm curious - has anyone done this?  It seems in my experience there may be dates missing from each of them, I've gotten tons of duplicates but there are still a few holes in each set that I never seem to find.
