Thanks for the freebie last night. I don't know what you need for mats, but I now have archaeology, underworld trading and synthweaving if anyone needs anything. I too will give out freebies to help a guildee.

It WORKED, it was just not working as well as I would like. I have a job that's not in the IT industry, so goofing off on the computer is a bit of a nono, and I'd imagine typing on my phone all day is ALSO a bit of a nono. That's mostly what I was implying there.

I am running Firefox for Android. It is probably possible to do from here, but given how counky the text box here is (I gave up trying to trim a quote), I figured profile edits with html would be too much of a pain when I am at work and supposedly, uh working.

I've been playing more Hordeside on another server lately. Been considering re-rolling at least one alt on AD, but would have to kill off another alt!

What was your toon in Enclave (I suffer C.R.S. in my older age now )?

I was Shirine, a night elf druid who woke up one morning and discovered she was a troll. I was mostly there as Isandra, a Draenei mage. My brother was in Enclave for awhile and raided with you guys, but I can't for the life of me remember which one of his toons was the raider there.

The dialogue is definitely full of win.

One of my favorites was the Sith Quest where you are asked to kill someone because they are researching a ton of dangerous weapons... and ergonomic chairs.

I have to hand it to you, Balandar, the new site design really does look fantastic! I noticed you're still playing around with some of the layout things, but overall l like the look of it. Nice work!

All ready to go here as well. Don't know how much I'll get to play, since I will have family at our house all weekend, but I might be able to sneak a couple of hours in hopefully.

I really would like time to play more with the Imperial Agent, though. I barely got started last time and the story just looked so good.

One of the reasons for this weekend's Beta Testing Weekend is to specifically stress test servers in our East Coast data center. To help achieve this aim, we're inviting North American players (USA and Canada), who'll be playing in a similar timezone to each other, to help max out the server capacity.

I'm guessing they're anticipating some problems, as they have said now that everyone invited for this weekend will be invited again for another weekend. Either way, I'm looking forward to playing and testing a few things out without getting too deep and ruining the surprises in December.

I got in as well. I was one of the first invitees, so I at first received an email saying I got in to the Beta with no time specified. It was only later that night that they revised it to the weekend only.

So, I'll be around this weekend. I had made plans (as usual), but when I'm home and awake, I'll be online with y'all!

Wanted to give you all a heads-up that the tornadoes that hit St. Louis on Friday went through about 4 blocks from Anamarie's (and my) house. Trees and power lines were uprooted and broken like twigs, and there was extensive damage to our neighborhood on two sides of us. We are both fine and our home is relatively unscathed (just a few missing shingles, a broken storm door and broken outdoor light fixture), but our power is still out, and I am not sure when it, or our cable (which will probably come back later than the power), will be back up. Chances are, I will have to miss raid on Tuesday. Hopefully we'll have cable back by Thursday. I'll keep you up to date when I get more information.

All they needed to do was change the toon from a Tauren into a Blood Elf Holy Paladin with no Archimonde hat and no legendary healing mace and it would be perfect.

But I LIKE fire? What's wrong with that? It's so warm... and toasty...

I look around this thread and see more whining and focus on loot or DKP than on the encounters. Seriously, go back and count the posts about loot vs. difficult bosses or hard modes. No excitement about the bosses and mechanics we'll face in Icecrown Citadel, no talk about strategy (other than from maybe 2-3 people here and there, and always the same people), no interest in killing stuff just to kill it. If there is no reward, NOBODY CARES (even if there's a challenge to be overcome). People show up, but looking at the performance arc, it becomes very apparent that the interest just isn't there when there's nothing tangible to be gained. Whether many people in this raid want to accept it or not, behaviour speaks very loudly here...loot has become the most important thing, even above relations with other raid members or besting a challenge together. It's disappointing, but that's just a fact at this point. It's sad that it's come to this...seriously.

I LOL'd at this...it's so true! There hasn't been a single post about any of the ICC encounters. I'm totally expecting that when we reach that first boss in ICC, everyone's just going to turn their heads and wait till I spew out explanations, positions and tactics.

I only posted here about loot because Zu wanted feedback. I also try to read up on fights closer to the time that we are going in for the first time, although I do so only enough to get the basics of what's going on. I like new content to feel new, not like I know it all already the first time I walk in. Maybe that's just me.

I agree with Zuworty's plan so far, with the exception of setting everyone to zero. Even though the Zero setting is probably a benefit to me (plenty of DKP hoarders above me who want some of the same weapons/necks/rings/etc that I do), but I worry that it may drive some people to take EVERYTHING from here on out, even if it's a sidegrade or a 'like' gear offspec (elemental vs. resto shaman for example) just to spend their DKP, possibly depriving someone out of an actual upgrade. That's one of the reasons why I'm in favor of normalization, even if the range between the top and bottom person is very narrow. If there is a contingency plan to prevent crap like this, then I'm fine with the 'start from scratch' thing.

Put it on the players to not roll on gear they'll never use in the raid unless absolutely nobody in the raid that will use it for that raid rolls. If it's tanking plate, for instance, there's no reason why Ascoli should have to roll against Kadi for the same piece, considering that he does tank in the raid (just hypothetical, but it illustrates the point well enough). Same goes for dps or healing gear. In short, don't be a *insert expletive here* when rolling on offspec gear should a dkp system remain.

I agree with Waldy on this, though I want to add that I have gladly passed to people like Ascoli and Waldy (who DPS and Tank both in raids) on ret gear, not rolling if I see them do so first, or passing the item on to them if I roll before them and win the roll. I think this has been the attitude of most people in our raid, and I would hope that anyone would pass in that situation.

I would hope that the "Don't be a dick" rule would apply for DKP and Offpec both, though. We all have the same basic goal to kill stuff and have fun here, right?
