  1. If you'd like, I generally leave Hoofstomper in Everlook and can grab the patterns there fairly easily for you. Also, Hoofie can teleport to Moonglade, which has a few more, but I think those are all 275+ and one is a BoP pattern.

I'll see what I have in my mailbox. I sometimes forget what I have and buy duplicate patterns, so if I have any extras that I already know, I'll send them over.

  2. Or bring an engineer with a large seaforium charge >:L

We should probably make an effort to get more people keyed for instances in general, especially with all of the 50s folks now. Perhaps designate a "key day" where we would pick a dungeon per week to get some folks keyed for.

I find it a tad funny that the only instances that I'm keyed/attuned for are MC, BWL, and Onyxia...but have barely spent more than 10-20mins in quite a few of the "lower level" instances (just saw the insides of ZG and Strat this week for the first time).

  3. Congratulations, Xaos! From what I hear, the quest/battle for the dreadsteed is one of the most entertaining epic quests in the game and I'm glad to hear it went well (and was successful)

  4. I seem to almost trip over DI nodes whenever I'm in Searing Gorge (too bad I only get one tap off of most, though), so I'll try to get Verissi down there to run laps around the place. I actually need to mine some thorium soon anyway for some engineering stuff...I'll send whatever DI that I run across to Maube and you all can work out where it all goes.

Hehehe, I hear ya on funds, Maube. With both Hoofie and Wald in the 40s and Verissi only coming on for instance runs or defending Org, my cash "flow" seems to be flowing downhill.

  5. This is good news indeed. Hoofstomper is also feral spec (heavily so, actually) and I also prefer to stack a regrowth/rejuv more often than I use the HT spells, but I'm always happy to see mana efficiency improvements for any healing spell. Maybe I'll use it more often now, actually, since I always felt it to be somewhat of a waste in most of the circumstances that I run into soloing.

Priests are likely happy to see this as well, although a casting time change is going to throw off their timing a bit until they're used to it.

  6. it is my firm belief that the only people that become police officers are the ones that were constantly beat up and picked on in school. This is their way for revenge.

*cough* I was once a member of the law enforcement community...not all of them are jerks (just most...lol).

Honestly, and I'm *not* defending this cop in this case at all (in fact, I would've been reamed for handling an arrest like that...and would've deserved it), but I think many cops out there are just doing their very unpopular job. I always used to joke about how everyone hated us until they needed us...we were heroes for five minutes, but after that, resume the hate. Anyway, I digress...

Definitely talk to a lawyer about this. I personally question any law that assumes guilt in the absence of correspondence and wonder if it would hold up in a higher court, but I'm certainly no lawyer and my former employment was simply to enforce the law as it was written, not interpret it. It just appears to fly in the face of any presumption of innocence.

One thing that may work against you is if you failed to change your address on your license within the required time period after moving, which subsequently led to you never receiving the notices (if that comes out, be prepared to have more charges added to the case...I've nearly been bitten by that one myself). Also, I have no clue about Ohio, but in some other states and jurisdictions, the decision to impound vehicles is often left to the arresting officer. Personally, I wouldn't have impounded it since you probably had someone that could retrieve the vehicle and move it from where it was in relatively short order. The only times that I would choose to impound a vehicle is if I believed that it would be unlawfully operated within 24 hours or if it were obstructing traffic or access (there is a third reason as well: high probability that your property would be damaged or stolen at the current location...departmental liability in that case if I didn't have it towed). Some cops are jerks, though, and want to maximise how much time and money you need to spend in order to go back to your daily routine, so they tow absolutely everything.

I really hope this works out in your favour and am saddened to hear stories like this, especially from honest, hard-working folks. Hopefully you'll find some good representation and get out of this mess with minimal cost or impact to you in the long run. Ideally, I'd love to see laws like that one get overturned in a higher court, but that's a lengthy (and sometimes costly) prospect that few are willing to undertake.

  7. I haven't even started towards getting keyed for anything (aside from MC attuned, which was incidental to Maube getting attuned or I probably wouldn't have done that either :) )....but, as always, I'm up for anything, so count me in :D

  8. Hmmm...maybe it had entered what I like to call "The Funk Zone". My old Linksys wireless access point did that sometimes (refused web connections for configuration and randomly dropped one of my wireless devices periodically). Seemed to happen mostly after brown-outs.

    *shrug* Maybe that reset helped...

  9. I'd be curious to see if people that have two accounts that they log in simultaneously have the same issues...that would probably seal the proverbial deal. As for packet dropping, I doubt it since the limiter is really the broadband connection rather than the Linksys router, but I suppose it's possible. The router should have some stats logging that you or Katak may want to check out to be sure. Some dropped packets tend to be normal in home broadband settings, but if they're excessive compared to the traffic that's going through there, then it's a problem.

Good catch on noticing the Windows XP Home Ed. (I glazed over it), but that shouldn't be an issue now if it wasn't prior to 1.9, since the protocol stacks between that and XP Pro are identical. I may set up a sniffer on my machine to figure out which servers handle what aspects of the game to see if there are glaring latency issues along the various routes to them, since I get disconnected here and there for no reason at all. Also, if I knew the IPs involved on their side, I could write a script to monitor the connection to the server and see if you're actually losing connection with it or if the game is just timing you out.

  10. I'm also for staying. I don't have any strong ties to AD outside of this group, so I don't have to consider that much if we do want to move as a group, but at least AD is a known entity and we seem to have a good mix of folks here (better the devil that you know...).

  11. In my experience (pre-WoW), server transfers usually appeared to be a good solution, but rarely worked out well for most that took advantage of them (or paid to do it)....mostly because of the motives of the players that do transfer. Present company excluded (of course), most of the folks that I've come in contact with on AD that are likely to transfer seem to not be the types of people that want a fresh experience. They're mostly either trying to escape queues or want a new realm to "pwn". I can definitely understand the former reasoning, but if enough transfer, the queues will follow shortly thereafter. The latter...well, I think our orc smiley here says it best: >:0

Personally, I agree with what's been said so far about going together and would be interested in checking out the community on the "new" server prior to moving. I'm not the biggest RPer and tend to be pretty quiet normally (Wald's got a steel jaw for a reason...hehehe), but I do enjoy being around good RP communities...wish AD saw more of it, actually. I'd hate to move somewhere with even less RP than we see currently or one with less Horde pride.

  12. Hmmm...does it only happen when you and Katak are on at the same time? I'm wondering if Blizzard has some type of duplicate IP address detection thing they silently enabled (wouldn't be the first company to try that without telling the players). Since you're both behind the same router, you're likely both coming into the servers from the same IP address (masqueraded).

Yeah, I'm a network engineer at work...can you tell? >:0

  13. Before thinking hardware...

Do you seem to get only booted from your character back to the selection screen or completely out of the server and to the login screen? If it's the latter, what add-ons are you using? Bear in mind that all add-ons are processed again when you zone in or out (complete UI refresh...I use the zeppelin sometimes to test out addon changes that I've made), so there may be something going on with one of them during the reload.

If it's not totally crashing the game, then it may not be hardware at all (I had a bad stick of RAM a bit ago and that tended to totally sack games or the whole system before I realised what was going on).

  14. Last night was really fun and I'm starting to get more comfortable running instances on Verissi (running with the Crushers makes it easier to be new to a dungeon and still succeed while having fun ;) ). Until I made Waldonnis and joined up, I really hadn't run any dungeons since SM (which I did in my 50's) and solo'ed more often than not, so I figured I'd never see some of these places. Thanks a ton for the great groups and fun!

The AoE damage was insane last night and, since I'm mostly a world PvP mage (read: dead frequently before my purple-wearing targets are), it was a refreshing change to feel like I was contributing meaningfully to the success of the group. I wished I was less tired last night, though...hit coldsnap twice for no reason, almost lost track of my sheep once, and had my "crap, I didn't mean to roll on that.../bonk self" moment ;)

Count me in for any further visits if you have spots or need mages (or water vendors...hehehe) :D

  15. wait on the Mooncloth bags =p I read somewhere that they are gunna only cost one mooncloth to make...

Supposedly, that's a change that's coming in 1.10. Read it from a blue, but don't have time to find the link at the moment...I'll find it and post it later when I'm not at work.

  16. I've always got a few characters in-process, since I keep deleting a few here and there and starting over (I think I like starting out more than I like sitting at 60).

Personally, I'd do the starter quests until you hit the point where you need to go into Ragefire Chasm (your first instance run). By that point, you should have the general feel for the game and will probably have a pet by then as well!

Once you're ready for Ragefire Chasm (RFC for short), I can bring one of mine to help out and run with you a bit. I think my rogue and hunter are a bit too far into the game to go without it being a "run-through", but perhaps my teen-level priest or warrior could come out to help. Worst case scenario, I love playing bear-tank on my druid, so I could always go to maul some faces and help out with him.

  17. Lets just say... I am a very mad panda.

Are mad pandas still black and white or are they black and red?

Not much happened last night, really. Most of the group wanted to play in WSG and it was a zergfest in AB when I went in there. I made up for the lack of Alliance in queues with a bit of world PvP with Zorrander in front of Org, though >:L

Luckily, I only lost connection once last night very late, so I avoided the queue for once...

  18. I can also make mooncloth and have been making it steadily for almost two weeks now. We should probably keep track of our timers together whenever we need a bunch of bags made for guildies...much easier to make 4-5 mooncloth in two days using a few people than 1 in four days by ourselves :yahoo: I wouldn't mind doing that, at least, since I'm still working on tailor and mooncloth still gives me 1 skill point :yahoo:

  19. I've got at least 10 dark iron ore stashed in Verissi's bank if it's needed for anything (not like I can smelt it). I haven't run into any arcane crystals at all, despite sitting at 300 mining for months now, but I'll keep tapping away and hope to find some...

  20. At 75 fishing, you shouldn't have too many problems fishing in the Barrens. Ashenvale is also a possibility, but I believe 75 fishing is the minimum there (Barrens is 50), so you'd likely have many fish get away before you started catching them regularly.
