  3. BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Monks at a Belgian abbey have been forced to stop selling their famous beer after it was voted the best in the world and was promptly sold out. The abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in western Belgium is home to some 30 Cistercian and Trappist monks who lead a life of seclusion, prayer, manual labor -- and beer-brewing. A survey of thousands of beer enthusiasts from 65 countries on the RateBeer Web site (www.ratebeer.com) in June rated the Westvleteren 12 beer as the world's best. But the abbey only has a limited brewing capacity, and was not able to cope with the beer's sudden popularity. "Our shop is closed because all our beer has been sold out," said a message on the abbey's answering machine, which it calls the "beer phone." And the abbey has no intention of boosting its capacity to satisfy market demand. "We are not brewers, we are monks. We brew beer to be able to afford being monks," the father abbot said on the abbey's Web site. Monk Mark Bode told De Morgen daily: "Outsiders don't understand why we are not raising production. But for us life in the abbey comes first, not the brewery."
  4. I don't think you understood what I was saying I was trying to make it post within the link. CLicking your link works...just woulda been nice to have the picture shown in thread rather than having to click for lazy guys like me....
  5. Hehe WBAL. I remember watching that station when I lived in Balto.

  7. How to View the Perseid Meteor Showers If, around August 12th, you go outside between midnight and dawn and look up for a minute or so, you'll most likely spot a meteor streaking through the sky. The August Perseid meteors were the first that astronomers associated with a particular comet. In the mid 1860s, Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli observed that Perseids followed the appearance of the Swift-Tuttle Comet. Steps: 1. Watch for Perseid meteors in the night skies from July 23rd to August 22nd. 2. Get away from artificial light if possible. 3. Dress appropriately for nighttime viewing. As a summer event, Perseids may be one of the few meteor showers you can observe in shirtsleeves. 4. Look toward constellation Perseus for the radiant point of Perseid meteors. They'll seem to come from that area, which is about halfway above the horizon in the northeast quadrant of the sky. 5. Begin your search for Perseids after 10 p.m. (although the best viewing comes from midnight until dawn). 6. Recline with your feet facing due south and look straight up. Perseids should appear to come from over your left shoulder. Tips: Meteors flame through the Earth's atmosphere when our planet passes through the tail of a comet. Miniscule particles, some like grains of sand, plunge into our atmosphere at fantastic speeds and vaporize, creating streaks of light as they burn. A flashlight with a red-tinted lens cover allows you to move around in the dark without diminishing your night vision. According to Gary W. Kronk, author of "Cometography," the Perseid meteor shower is "the most famous of all meteor showers. It never fails to provide an impressive display and, due to its summertime appearance, it tends to provide the majority of meteors seen by non-astronomy enthusiasts." Warnings: Swift-Tuttle last passed close to the Earth in 1992, and as many as 500 Perseid meteors per hour were seen in parts of Europe. Activity at that level will not be observed again until 2126, when the comet again swings through our solar system. Looking directly at the radiant point causes meteors to appear faint and slow-moving. Tips from eHow Users: Taking pictures of the Perseids by Roberta K. If you wait to take a picture until you see a meteor, you'll be too late. Use a wide-angle lens and set your camera on a tripod pointing to the sky. Snap pictures at random every couple of minutes or so. You're bound to get a photo of a meteor.
  8. SEOUL (Reuters) - A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said Tuesday. The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing on-line battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said. Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play on-line games on Aug. 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said. "We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion," a Taegu provincial police official said by telephone. Lee had recently quit his job to spend more time playing games, the daily JoongAng Ilbo reported after interviewing former work colleagues and staff at the Internet cafe. After he failed to return home, Lee's mother asked his former colleagues to find him. When they reached the cafe, Lee said he would finish the game and then go home, the paper reported. He died a few minutes later, it said. South Korea, one of the most wired countries in the world, has a large and highly developed game industry.
  9. You should have cut the BB Code version not the HTML version.....
  10. O.K. Bal 3.2 gigs of upload later Who's your daddy! Maybe I'll get video streaming on my shoutcast server and just let you login to that next time. Honestly not much of a deal to get that to ya other than my complete and utter lack of hard drive space. I need to get me at least one if not two 200+gig drives. Moving files that are a minimum of 1.6gig then converting em then creating a rar of em all on a little over 3 gigs of drive space is quite a feat of juggling!!!
  11. Yet one more thing you can run. It's pretty nice and will do more than tell you about spyware. This link will take you to the page where you can download it as well as where there is a link to a tutorial to using it and understanding what its telling you. Hijack This v1.99.1
  12. Oh yeah.... Always a good idea when running scans (even for spyware) to boot in safe mode. Not cause anything will get broken, but moreso so that some Ad-ware that worms it's way into things never gets loaded and is then vunerable to annihilation....
  13. Like you have already been told get Firefox asap. If you don't want Firefox then get Netscape but whatever you do junk IE. Now since you can't click links copy and paste the following link. The first is for spyware removal, the second for keeping spyware from making it onto your system in the first place. Ad-Aware SE Personal Spybot Search and Destroy If you really wanna go even one step further and clean your registry a bit you can download and run Registry Mechanic. While this version is free if you actually pay the $29 to upgrade to the full version you will be amazed at how much junk it cleans up for you as well as compacting the registry resulting in faster boot times among other things. Hope all this helps ya.
  14. Sounds like a plan. Make sure you seated the memory good. If it isnt it can definitly keep your entire box from coming up.....or worse.....
  15. Somehow I knew this was gonna be me.....That's cause im deadly and quite like a ninja....and everyone knows Ninja's kick ass! What military aircraft are you? My Results: F/A-22 Raptor You are an F/A-22. You are technologically inclined, and though you've never been tested in combat, your very name is feared. You like noise, but prefer not to pollute any more than you have to. And you can move with the best.
  16. Best as I can tell. I would really be surprised if they left it tahat way long after it went live though. I would think they would allow everyone a honeymoon period to get used to and try the different races then shortly after announce that you better figure out which race you want cause they wont allow continous switching. At least thats how I would do it.....
  17. I'm actually not sure why it took so long for this to happen but soon the training technique being used with golems will be rendered useless. On the release of ML you will no longer be able to gain skill from any creature that is incapable of causing you harm. So for those of you that employ this method better get those golems fired up cause time is ticking!
  18. For those that want to go from Human to Elf just follow these easy steps....
