  1. On the United Pirates board, WidoW posted a link to an interesting site. You take a test to see how you play your characters. Siun and Naim are opposites. These were my results: Siun: Explorer 66% Socializer 60% Achiever 53% Killer 20% Naim: Socializer 66% Killer 60% Achiever 53% Explorer 20% MUD Character Test
  2. Fing is looking for wood...
  3. We did have fun - those of us that were able to make it! Our evening began at Safe Haven where I reported I had run into Golems and their Controllers near Wyverlunder's home minutes before. While Balandar took time out to sate his hunger, Baltazar, Martok and I journeyed near Winterfell and eventually located our nemesis. The golems hit hard, but we overcame them and their controllers (who look like evil red mages). Balandar joined us as we scouted around Olympus to see if it was under attack. We returned to assist Winterfell neighborhood when Olympus was declared safe. By the end of the night, several of us were sporting new arcane robes, capes and boots created courtesy of Kimpek the grandmaster tailor using some arcane gems we looted off the evil doers.
  4. Hi there! You might want to check out the posts regarding Shadowbane. Looks like there might be a mass exodus over to that program next year. PGoH do have a hard time getting online together in UO these days, so you might find it difficult to find your old friends to play with. p.s. I still have those GM green chain leggings you gave me on one of my first days in game!
  5. That was pretty wild Bal! Where do you find the time?
  6. PGoH Members have discussed getting together to do some scenario romping on Thursday night, 10/4/01 at 8:00 pm. The scenario in the BNN story (posted below by Lorraina) still seems a little unclear - no clues to where this hidden city might lay. Anyone have any ideas? I would suggest we meet at 8pm. Bring silver and regular weapons, regs, bandies, potions etc. Meet at Safe Haven at 8pm EST on Thursday Oct. 4. If we don't know where to go, we will do a romp instead. Bring your favorite romping runes. Those who cannot play until later - please ICQ us when you get online. Looks like we have Martok, Lorraina, BB, Siun and Lan at least. Vandorn says he will join us at 9pm. Hope to see you then!
  7. I have happy news to share - there are less grieving families in this world than there might have been. I had wonderful news today about the people I know near the WTC and I feel fortunate for them and myself. Two of the engineers (30s, married, with young children) I worked with in NYC had a meeting on the 105th floor and were 10 minutes late. They were spared. So thank god for them and their families that there are two less grieving families today. Also, the staff in an architectural firm I worked with was completely spared and they have been offered new space in the city by one of their clients. So some joy to share amidst all the despair. (Wyverlunder does live outside Chicago. He recently bought a new home and is pretty busy with it.)
  8. Stan told me that he has heard from them both and they are safe.
  9. Thanks for your concern. I just drove home from Atlanta (1115 miles and 20 hours straight) with my client who fortunately had a rental car and lives an hour north of me. My three other family members who were scheduled/did travel on Tuesday (two out of Boston) are fine, but stranded too. Thanks for asking. Oddly I was to fly from Atlanta to Dulles in Washington Tuesday afternoon, and was in an FAA facility when we were evacuated. My sister flew from Boston at same time as LA flights, but she went to Orlando and luckily was not targeted. She is now stranded and is also thinking of driving home. My dad flew out of the middle east on Tuesday and is now stranded in London since Logan Airport is closed. I am so thankful to be sitting at home in my own apartment right now safe and sound. I am still worried about my sister and dad, and hope they will be here soon. I am so sorry for the families of all those who will never make their way home after these terrifying events. Thanks everyone for your calls and icqs. (I worked with many WTC people in my NYC days and can only pray they live today.) Please note that 6 members of my company died in the explosions (on planes and in Pentagon). All innocent victims and leaving grieving families and coworkers. This stuff still shakes me up and it is hard to think straight sometimes. Take care and remember to say "I love you" to the people who count in your life.

    Golden Tee

Quote from Martok, posted on Believe it or not, that is where I learned which size clubs to match the distance... I played computer golf before I learned how to golf in real life. (But not Golden Tee - just the first version of MS Golf I think.)
  11. We had a wonderful time tonight. At 8pm, guildmembers started to appear on the bank roof, and it was a nice sight indeed. We even had the benefit of seeing our old buddy Arthil, who invited PGoH to join VK on a joint romp some day. Mrs. Madman, Lorraina, Martok, Wolf and Siun Loresdottar first departed for Titans. After slaying innumerable mongbats and honing our rusty skills, we then ventured on to fight against Paradox's troops - efreets and daemons, with the random dire wolf thrown in. *shakes sore ankle in memory* After battling successfully (no fatalities on our side) for an hour, we were joined by a perpetual ghost and his soon-to-be released mare. We retreated to the Trinsic bank where we each walked away 3800 gold richer (and a L3 tmap too). Thanks to all who participated! It was a fun little romp, and profitable too. (And we shocked Vandorn on the roof when he appeared and found guildmembers hanging around!) Let's hope with autumn coming, we all might find time to give an hour to our mutual enjoyment.
  12. I am interested in obtaining a furniture dye tub when the veteran rewards come through. If anyone already has one extra and is interested in my choosing a different veteran reward in exchange for it, please let me know what item you would like. If you read the updates, you will see we can now choose three items (for 1 year vets), and I am pretty ambivalent about the other two choices I have. If someone would like me to choose two different statues in exchange for a large amount of gold or wood, please let me know that too. You can post either here or ICQ me at 72692533. Thanks.
  13. Quote from Lan, posted on Mayhap when ye spell my name right, ye heathen! p.s. did I mention the hockey-playing BF drives my favorite kind of luxury car?? Oh wait... that's from another thread... and before ye get yer panties in a bind, Coldren, I didn't know he did until AFTER I agreed to a date...

    It's a Girl!!!

Congratulations! So who does she take after?
  15. Quote from Lan, posted on What - "chicks" can't enjoy sports? I love watching: football in bars (came 2nd place in company pool 2 years ago), my boyfriend play hockey in the summer (!), any local baseball team from the stands with peanuts, hotdogs and beer as the main attraction. I picked Summer as favorite (since I couldn't pick ALL of the above) because nothing beats fresh tomatoes grown in your own garden. And I love wearing skimpy clothing which is only possible in the summer... at least comfortably...

  18. Quote from Prometheus, Is that what he meant? Aye - there is a set of stairs there that you can see if you look closely. Coldren pointed them out to me.
  19. Thanks! Are you a GM Bower too? I wonder if Lores is the only one in the PGoH with the skill. It took a LOT of boards and an empty castle so I could have all the lock-down space to drop the stuff she made. (So far Siun has gotten around to selling nearly 100k worth of bows to the NPCs. Of course the value of the boards was around 1 million gold *sighs*. I'm still in debt...) p.s. if anyone needs GM bows - I will arrange to have some available.
  20. Quote from Kalinaf, posted on Galam brought me to the Orc Dungeon yesterday (during lunch heh) but we wore green orc masks and were only harassed by a dire wolf. So you can go in and look around. Galam says there is a rune locked down at Olympus Castle in the Virtue Hall if any others wish to go for a tour. (And don't forget - do not attack an orc while wearing your green orc mask or the mask will explode.)
  21. Not exactly an auspicious name for a tavern! *warily scans the menu for nightshade-flavored items* Sounds like fun, though. Wonder if they need waitresses? just kidding just kidding...
  22. Silvana will be pleased - we had fifteen paying patrons tonight! While half were PGoH, the others were a motley crew. Sadly, brigands broke into the stables and slaughtered one of the horses ere Naim could get the bouncers to show them out! (Inga of the United Pirates and our very own squire Ansara fought them off on the front lawn.) But on a happier note, Naim earned more money than Siun usually earns on her forays!

  25. I first read the journals on Stratics. Someone had collected them and written the story of the Khaldun explorers. It mentioned the missing pages, I think. Martok was collecting the journals too, way back when the dungeon first opened, I think. But this is a hazy memory. Maybe he can confirm...
