  1. I can be in game tonight. Maybe 6 PM PST. Currently in Owls Head I think. Otherwise I need directions to your home.
  2. anyone have any left in inventory? would like to try it but the locations seems caved in, st least the original entrance looks that way - am in release 19 . If not, any suggestions how to level a bit faster than grinding it out at low levels? Thanks.
  3. Logged in and the graphics problem is resolved. a 5k gold reward was present due to skills reset.
  4. I dunno - you never know where a troll will rear its ugly head....nor when...
  5. It is also meant to restrict abusers of the rule. There may be arguments for more butbans should be generally limited . A player woulkd really have to be bad to get a ban from a PoT.
  6. I posted a Bug report but no one has responded. What does it mean when they ask to provide the "Reproduction Rate"?
  7. I will try this. <EDIT .... did not help. same problem exists, shouldn't this be resolvable through Nvidia?
  8. Ok here are screen shots showing the issue. I uploaded them into the SOTA gallery and this reply to topic box only provides "link" and not an insert image or paste image. We'll see how it looks once posted. These pictures were taken by not logging in through Steam. http://www.thehonorempire.org/forums/gallery/image/859-ghost-beard-above-white-menu-bar/ Look carefully above the white bar on right for a ghost image of a full beard. Yep - should be a full face there. http://www.thehonorempire.org/forums/gallery/image/860-black-characters-and-structures/ That's my character in middle and Edward on left facing the camera. http://www.thehonorempire.org/forums/gallery/image/861-most-everything-is-dark/ Still with Edward. some color and graphics show up clean, but the rest... Currently tryng to find a solution online.
  9. That Rumble in middle facing camera and AEdward on left.
  10. Look carefully above the white bar on right for a ghost image of a full beard.
  11. I am too tired to try and recall how to get images in here easily. I logged into game and everything is black. I had to recreate Rumble and during that couldn't see any features at the right at all except a ghost image of beards. In game characters are shadowed, no color but black and very dark greys. basic search for this problem provided very little helpful. Yes, I have newest version downloaded. Yes I have most recent NVidia drivers. Yes I tried various adjustments to Video settings under Options icopn. nothing. Please suggest a solution. Thanks <Edit> What I mean is that I see no texture, clothing, features, nothing bu the outline and hints of lines and features on the characters because everything on the characters is not rendering as anything but BLACK and very dark greys. Sure, all the flame effects in the very first start area where you get your first sword work just fine, but even buildings aren't rendering as anything but this blackness. I am at work and swamped so nothing that I can do until after I get home (late) tonight. - Thanks </end edit>
  12. I am currently running a character on Lockjaw named Mistborn, a High Elf Enchanter and am having a lot of fun with him. I am in The Faceless Guild, which was The Faceless on Vulak'Aerr when I played there.
  13. Wait a minute. Lord is 200. Where did you get 350 from? Methinks his "lordship"'s head hath risen like a yeasty bread.......
  14. OK I have the Edelmann digital home, the 5 story Basement (Mine) Balandar showed above, The Ornate Riverstone Fence (Tall) to put around the property, and Fallow Granite Pavers to use outside. Right now I am not seeing much else to add in but I will keep looking. TheMadHermit did a video on this basement that had workbenches on one level and that looked marvelous. Room to build that is for sure. I also got a White Raven. In Dennis L McKienan's Mithgar series of novels, There are some stories about the Dwarves. To take one thing from them, some dwarves lived under Ravenor, a mountain commonly called Stormhelm. My Coat of Arms is going to have Ravanar on it, with a raven (if possible), a Helm and lightning bolts, an axe and hammer, and the banner " Chakka Shok y Cor". Or as close as I can get to it. Also seriously considering a wishing well to put out in front. Such fun.
  15. Would be fun to find a solid metal door in Rumble basement with limited access for anyone, which leads to an underground mined-out dwarven cave system of a town....
  16. Borg. I will be getting an Edelmann. Dwarves want to stay near the gropund and will open the underground to hid whimsy's. Please select the farthest left of the 4 bottom left for me, Village lots. Meaning Xv vv, where X is me and V are the other 4 lots. Logic is based on roleplaying. Rumble and his sister like their privacy to an extent and that puts them a bit more away from the crowds and closer to the mountains, and those private caverns underground. Working on gathering funds to get the tax free house if still available. Thanks. Rough backstory. Rumbles family used to mine the local caverns before they opened a fissure into a nest/set of underground caverns with a host of nasties. Valianty trying to close the cavern up they were overwhelmed and most of their family fell to the horde. essentially dispossessed of their cave home, Brannd and Rumble were found by the knights of LordB who were loking for a place to set a new fort along the river. They helped to strike back at the horde but the damage and infestation remained and while some success was made, the caverns are mostly boarded shut with warnings and a regular patrol to watch out for the strays rising to the surface. (PS - could even be an underground crypt whose original entrance was covered by a landslide and the breach made was the first in ages). Since effectively Rumbles family claimed the land, there is a certain agreement that they can retain title and free rent here in Honor Hold and share their smithing and trade skills among the Humans. Also, there are caved in underground mining shafts in these hills which Rumble and Brannd lay claim to yet pesky fortune hunters find ways to try and loot them when they can. Folks who successfully mine specifc ores of great value and turn them in to Brannd might receive benefits ( faction, points for honesty, etc) and perhaps Brannd will forge a nice weapon or armor of the material; once their status as an Avatar reaches a certain point. I plan on making the outdoor area of the Edelmann a work area. yes I would like a merchant but maybe I can add one later if game features allow such a thing. Great news all!!
  17. Borg, Is the attached Thumbnail what you were referring to when you said "First off here is the document I am submitting with the Player Town proposal for our......HONOR HOLD". ? It is a good looking document so whomever put it together, KUDOS!!. The 4 lots in the lower left - what size are those? I see 12, not 11, lots about the same size including the pavilion so that suggests it is a Village Size lot. I see three similar lots up near the Orchard which I think you have explained. One in the bottom right near the rest of the lots. And 4 more lower left. Are all of these the ones that are to be used by the Devs, or can I claim one of them? And is Sindees Eidelmann one of the smaller lots bottom right? Assuming one of the lower left lots (Row lots) I will find a nice row sized home, preferably of mostly stone and of 2 story. Otherwise if one of the Village sized lots are available, I will want to get a Knight-sized home instead. I am thinking a bit about the Dwarven Blacksmith's lore and will try to have a rough sketch later today.
  18. EQ Original has opened a Time-Locked Progression Server called "Ragefire" last Wednesday. Only subscription players (paying) can access it. FTP cannot. They had initial problems with newly made characters appearing as level 50+ fully Geared characters, which may have had its roots in being able to make a level 1 character on old servers and 'buy' the ability to make it a level 85 character with premium level subscriptions. They fixed it and effectively the server was open and available for play Thursday afternoon. The volume of players was horrible. They had 'instanced' some newbie zones like Gfay so that up to 10 instances of the zone were in play and you could switch over to other instances if your buddies were in them. Assuming there was room. The next VERY noticeable problem were the Bot-ers. One primary character running around and 5 other chars, mostly mages, following along and all assisting at the same nanosecond with the same attack. Needless to say there were many. Also people would go AFK and stay in game for hours, preventing those trying to get in long wait times to get in to play. So it was not very surprising that Friday night, one guild killed Nagafen, then Vox, and later, Phinegal. Saturday Innoruuk was killed. And since then Cazic Thule was killed, so according to the rules of the server, a 6-month timer is active for a vote on Kunark. And that timer started not even 3 days into the servers existence. Daybreak Games, who now owns Everquest, (hereafter, DBG), instituted a new code to create a login Queue. one click and you are on the list to get into the game. Also along with this, anyone AFK about 20-30 minutes gets booted. These 2 things means you can get into game and actively play so that those creating the overpopulation but are not playing get knocked out for players to have a chance to play. But now, another nugget has appeared: Lockjaw server is being brought online. Ragefire Exceeded Expectations - What Now? (Linked)They are actually bringing another on (IMO) because it makes good business sense to address the huge interest in a new server to accommodate the need. We can only hope they institute rules regarding BOTing players, which is being hotly discussed in the forums and that such play styles can be effectively prevented. When Vulak'Aerr and Fippy servers opened, similar issues came up and people rushed into the content and it became a race between the higher guilds to push their server ahead of the other. I think that the interest is great and have a wizard on Ragefire who is turning out to be fun, but I also see chat about people thinking these servers are actual 'Original" content. it is and it isn't. some old-school rules are there, but graphics are modern (but can be turned off in the Options feature) and new rules are clearly present. One such rule is the new "advanced loot" function. With it on, solo or grouped, each drop off each separate creature, even if it is the same drop (such as cloth armor pieces) have to be selected as always greed, always need, never loot, and a few more choices. You have to set it sometime, either at the first looting or later. But once set, the looting becomes automatic. For example, in Steamfont Mountains there are clockworks you can kill that drop "No-Trade" or "No-Drop" quest items. The quests and uses of these items are from later expansions and have no sellable use at this time. They are effectively junk, and are never needed to be looted. Using the Advanced Loot system, they can always be left on the creatures corpse. Which causes a lot of corpses piling up given the huge amount of players. And that means.... graphic Lag. Solution? the "Hidecorpse" series of commands as hotbuttons. Hidecorpse removes all corpses so graphic stability is maintained. Now by Tuesday night, the number of players in newbie zones has dropped, which is good. They just moved on to higher zones. And lets face it, having the server come up right before a 3-day weekend which is right before many summer breaks for schools means this issue will remain around until the gaming junkies grow tired and move on to some other game. But with players rushing to get to Kunark we will always face the issue of diehard high-level raiders dominating end content. Overall though, that the interest is so huge should be noted. EQ is still alive and vibrant. I will try to keep folks up to date on news as I can.
  19. I like several of the items listed there and forsee use of them within the town on our lots. As I understand, having these items in the Town itself will be up to the Developers so we will likely need to decorate up our places to enhance the towns feel for Jousting. It would be nice to get unique decorations within the town related to Equestrianism (horses, riding, etc) but I guess that is a dream.
  20. Biome - IMO. I am inclined towards a Grasslands or Forest type. Mountains would be third, but all the hills in the "town" itself that I have seen just doesn't fit with me. Forest can be flatter than the mountains and provides trees within the zone. By comparison, the Desert biomes I have visited are rolling hills and no trees except poor cactus and the like. (yuk) I perceive the need for flatter space, green ground and some trees. Whatever fits along that line.
  21. More thoughts: Jousting - Will there be mounts in game then that players can acquire/breed? Will this factor affect the jousting abilities? Will there be a need for a place to stable them and will that be unique to this place or something we need to acquire and add in on one of the lots? Or will stabling them be unnecessary? So big picture - Holdfast grounds, a central square, a Village Pavilion, housing lots and a Store House. Ok, Store House, not Storehouse. That suggests it is a store and Balandar's points make good sense. Housing lots which we can dole out using the Keys, providing each of us in Guild get a place where we can 'set up' our own location to be in-game sellers if we wish. We should give some thought to how housing and our places fit into this equation. As to what combination of lots will be available: From: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?page_id=44577 Look at the middle and lower discussion on that page to see which types of housing we can place . The Pavilion Balandar has is an add-on building to a larger Village lot. That alone means we need 1 of those within the Holdfast. So of any choices we make, Row Lot housing may not be as desirable. I guess it depends on the layouts they will restrict us to when choosing what we can get. A Keep for the Guild where we could place our own little shops, pavilions or houses on would be great if possible. If not, the keep seems to make sense for a hosting place for Jousting. The Jousting field itself will make this place unique and may restrict the number of houses possible, unless the Jousting Field can be a location right next to our Holdfast. A name for the JF just popped into my head - Raven's Field/Roost. Given that Ravens can be scavengers of the dead on battlefields.... Ok back to work for me..
  22. Ok, where is the information you have just used in your post Balandar? That amount of detail would be nice to read up on to help us in forming the town/village etc. Is it this link? http://sotawiki.net/sota/Holdfast
