Oh ######, I didn't see them...I've been stuck working from home the entire holiday thanks to one of our VM host's drive arrays becoming perforated, so I was either looking at my work laptop and afk or so engrossed in the cut scenes I didn't see them. I honestly wasn't ignoring you.

Woo, just attempted to log back in and am in a queue of 635 so far. Not sure if I'll be able to play the rest of the day at this rate.

Good to see you back! Although it's kinda sad that I remember you more from being in Enclave as my alliance toons than I do from you being Hordeside. Look forward to playing with you again!

I've been playing more Hordeside on another server lately. Been considering re-rolling at least one alt on AD, but would have to kill off another alt!

What was your toon in Enclave (I suffer C.R.S. in my older age now )?

Our plans to have ppl coordinate on TS which server to start on. It's going to be difficult as not all of us can start at the same time. Once a server has been determined (on TS), it'll be posted on the forums.

I did apply to Vigilance this evening, and am in this weekend's beta. I suppose if I get an invite I'll have to scrub whatever the Star Wars equivalent of a pee tub is for Martok daily

So what's the scene like horde-side these days? What classes have low populations? Reason I ask is that the BoA items are now able to be sent cross-faction and I abhor trying to PvP alliance side - if you aren't in a pre-made in this battle group Horde rolls us. I still can't figure out why the Alliance can't figure out basic concepts in the battle grounds, but I am tired of beating my head against the wall!

With my Shaman on a PvP realm I hate the idea - nothing like having someone you just beat down come across and whine

But it was inevitable with the faction change coming, so meh - no biggie either way

I still remember doing that quest on Huato back at 60 - I think I still have screen shots

I have been working on old world dungeon quests for a while now, the past 2 or 3 weeks I have been trying to get into one instance to finish a quest line. I normally try for about 30min or so then either log and wait for the next Winter Grasp or go do some dailies then eventually log early for the night. Nothing that I said in the forums thread was really negative, I love what Blizzard does, I just see this little problem being their undoing.

Blizzard had a blue post on the subject on 7/7/09, stating that they are in the process of upgrading servers to better deal with this problem. No date has been established and I've not seen alot of other blue posts on this subject and when it will be implemented. Being that I'm getting more and more particular on who I raid/group with and the amount of patience I have, I can see that I will be doing more battle ground's and world activities to fill my time. I have been working on several toons on less populated servers to regain a perspective on what I expect from the game. So far all I see that doing is making me more and more a hermit to the guild.

Some where the Blizzard developers and Blizzard technical staff (ie Customer Service and IT) have to get on the same page and make sure this type of thing does not occur. This is a big ship now and it takes a bit for it to move along anymore, but when it does, lets make sure it's headed in the right direction.

Things are busy here now - kids getting ready to go back to school, soccer is starting up and I was drafted to coach a team full of 5 and 6 year olds! Should be fun!

Game wise, it's ok. I miss you guys and gals and the Horde side, but all my high level Horde toons are scattered now. My pally is still here on AD, Huato (now Zuato) is over on Tortheldrin to play with some real life friends when they are on, and Zuato (my old Tauren Druid) is still on Sisters of Elune. Otherwise everything is all stuck on the Alliance side of AD since another RL friend got me to re-roll during BC...and he has since quit the game. lol Ah well. I really wish I could move the BoA items over to the Horde side so I could re-roll. It would certainly make life easier to get back up to higher levels.

Yep, I saw they were updating Ony and the same thought when through my head Smed - why the heck would they do this when the instance server(s) for our battlegroup cannot handle the current load. *sigh*

Got one also. Seems like it's happening on a certain basis. Isn't there a way to make board sign-ups by referral-only or something so we can avoid this kind of thing?

I don't think so, but I think sign-ups can be disabled for a while.

Not sure if they are new people or just hacked people...if one person gets hacked their account could be used to send out the messages.

Good to hear you and the rest of the gang on SoE are doing good - my Druid is still floating around over there (Zuato)...otherwise I play alliance on this server with a RL friend of mine.

What brand is your PSU? Even though it says 850w, it may not be able to produce enough baseline wattage constantly. The 850w is usually a peak number that it can only sustain for a few seconds.

I'd check the power supplies too. If anything in the system has a voltage drop it can cause blue screens, including the RAM (ok, ESPECIALLY the RAM - if it sees too much of a fluctuation it will cause all sorts of wonky stuff).

In this day and age, there is no reason that a particular video card and mother board combination shouldn't work.

Now the other question that hasn't been asked - is this just with WoW or other applications too? If you haven't already, grab something like one of the 3d benchmarking programs since they will heavily tax the system - you should have the same result if it is something hardware related.

Edit: I see that it is happening in Windows too, so scratch that comment above about other apps. Have you pulled the nVidia drivers from nVidia themselves to see if that helps?
