  1. This issue appears to be somewhat uncommon but very annoying. The symptoms are extreme lag or loss of framerate in non system-taxing situations. This tends to manifest itself more when one has the character info window, a vendor window or any similar window open. The fix is simple so here goes. Delete the file named: \Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<your account name>\<your character name>\layout-cache.txt Here is the step by step: (this is for PC, although the Mac procedure should be basically the same, just open your hard drive and find the World of Warcraft folder and then skip to step 4) 1) Double click on My Computer 2) Open whatever hard drive you installed to, usually (C:) 3) Open “Program Files”, 4) Open your “World of Warcraft” folder, 5) Open the “WTF” folder, (which is aptly named it seems.) 6) Open the "Account" folder, 7) Open the folder named whatever your WoW account name is, 8) Open the folder with your character’s name that is having this problem, 9) Delete the file "layout-cache.txt" (Don’t worry, WoW will just make a new one.) That’s it. This should work on most systems, but if it doesn’t the more extreme version of this fix is to delete the both WDB and WTF folders in your World of Warcraft directory. (You will have to change your settings again if you do this one.) I hope this helps some struggling players out there.
