  1. HAR HAR HAR! Da Warboss blah tru! Deddies jus ghassh up ef uz tri tu ghaash dem!
  2. OOC: Your correct. However, Uruk is the word for "Orc" in the Black Speech of Mordor. My question was if the language page could be altered to reflect that, but I guess it really doesn't make much difference if we refer to ourselves in a variety of ways. PS: I agree. Ork is a very strange name, and I haven't seen it used before. Is that from Warhammer 40K perhaps?
  3. OOC: According to the current language listing, with refer to Orcs as Urks. However, if we want to keep true to the Black Speech/Warcraft hybrid language, shouldn't we refer to other Orcs as Uruks? I know it seems like a small thing, but bear in mind that it is going to be how we identify ourselves. Besides, Urk sounds more like a cry of pain than a name for a race.
  4. OOC: I would imagine it would. By the way, I'm not sure if this is our official policy, but I think that if you are referring to things not in the game you can use normal English. Just preface it with "Out of Character." PS: Abbreviated as "OOC" FYI.
  5. OOC: Other than dabu ("That is true"), I'm not exactly sure on what the Orkish words/phrases listed from Warcraft III mean. Fortunately I have some idea. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of these. 1. Zug Zug!: "Go, go!" 2. Lok Tar.: "Your will." 3. Lok Tar Ogar!: "Your will be done!" 5. Throm Ka!: A warcry of some kind? 5. Lok Tar Osh?: "What is your will?"
  6. Dat am bubhosh! Me wuz shure lat cud gruk et if me cud gruk et! >:]
  7. Yub, et am nub hard ta gruk! OOC: I am the new recruit he was referencing. Just refer to the language page for specific words. Otherwise, just speak a slaughtered version of typical English. It is surprisingly easy, not to mention quite fun. PS: By the way, my above phrase translates as "Yeah, it isn't that hard to understand!" PPS: Can members make small additions to the language with approval from the Elder Nobs? Or are the the words solely determined by the Warboss and the Vuduboss?
  8. OOC: Awesome! Congratulations on your graduation!
  9. Rulg Warboss! Dat am veri bubhosh ta her! >:] OOC: Just wondering, what attitude relationship this Clan have towards Thrall and the Earthen Council from a roleplaying perspective? PS & OOC: I spoke to the leader of Clan Splintered over AIM and he seemed like a pretty dependable ally. Have we responded to his overtures? The only problem I saw with his Clan was that it doesn't seem to take roleplaying quite as seriously as we do. What are your thoughts when it comes to an alliance with them?
  10. Warboss, wud taktiks wil we uz to clomp da Alliance agh da Forsaken? Wud uzg shud we set to da ghaash ash? OOC: How is my Orkish so far? >;] Anyway, what I am essentially asking is just how aggressive a PvP stance are we going to take towards the Alliance and, if the occasion demands it, the Forsaken? As for myself, I am perfectly willing to do just about anything it takes to further the aims of the Horde and the Skullcrusher Clan.
  11. Dat am gud. Me wuz worryied bubhosh Skullcrushers wer gona let em in. Wud am da Warchief agh Cairne Bloodhoof tinkin opining da uzg up lyk dat?

  13. I look forward to doing battle alongside the Trolls of the Darkspear tribe! Lok-Tar Ogar!
  14. Dark tidings are spreading throughout Orgrimmar my chieftains. I have heard disturbing rumors that Warchief Thrall has entered into a pact with the remnants of the (spits) Scourge led by the Banshee Queen! The pushdug call themselves the Forsaken. Warboss...Vuduboss...is this true? What is your judgment for the Clan on this matter? OOC: Here is the most recent information I could find concerning the Horde/Forsaken alliance.

    Ug ug!

Vidarok lay on a small cot within the Skullcrusher Clan fortress. Despite his best efforts, he could find no rest. "Evidently, it has hidden itself within the halls of this fortress." he thought to himself. Hours had passed, and still no answer had come. He had retired to his chamber some time ago after completing his application. Suddenly, just as the elusive rest he sought began to spring from its hiding place, he heard footsteps echoing down the halls. He did not stir; indeed, he hardly knew whether or not the Orc that was coming to his room was coming to execute him. If he lay still, he would have the element of surprise and then...he stopped short. "What am I thinking? This is not a prison. The humans hold no more power here than a breeze would against a battlement!" Vidarok muttered. His musings were interrupted by the sound of the hatch on his oaken door sliding open. A flicker of light peaked through the doorway, revealing a peon with a letter in his hand. The peon, believing Vidarok asleep, left the note on the floor and left the chamber. As soon as the door shut, Vidarok leapt from his bed and broke the seal on the scroll so that he could read its contents. "Lat am ab uz!" ~Warboss Grulg~ ~Vuduboss Uglutz~ A shout of exultation exploded within Vidarok's torso, but he managed to hold it in. He surveyed his humble surroundings, and then looked at the letter again. A wide grin spread across his face and he climbed into his cot. As he felt sleep enveloping him, one word blazed in his mind." "Home."

<stares at Uglutz and Gruglg with an expression that conveys both utter confusion and awe> Erm...yub! I would be deeply honored my Lo-Elder Nobs if you would teach me the tongue of the Horde! Meeb rulg! As for the Aplakishun, I'll shall do it immediatley Vuduboss. <bows and goes to another chamber to do the application> OOC: I plan on doing just that Grulk.

Warmaster Grulg OOC: I understand your point concerning the Orkish language. On the positive side, I can read it pretty well. As you no doubt noticed, I integrated some of the Orkish words into my RP application. In the future, I would try to continue along that path. So don't worry: I'm not turned off by your Clan's rule! PS: I know it may seem like something of a cop-out, but my RP justification for my character's lack of fluency in the Orkish language is that he was born into one of the prison camps that the Orcs were jailed in prior to Thrall's ascent to power. To prevent the Orcs from usurping the authority of their human overseers, they were barred from speaking in their native tongue. Thus, Vidarok's lack of a traditional Orkish upbringing forces him to speak in the "Common" language of the Alliance. I thought such a background would add a interesting dimension to Vidarok's character.

    Ug ug!

Lok-Tar Ogar Clan Skullcrusher! I have long wandered the wilds of our new homeland of Kalimdor, searching for a Clan to call my own. My common dialect may seem strange to you my brethren, but I urge you, do not turn my away for it. I was long a prisoner of the oomies, and I was not brought up in the tongue of our noble forefathers as many of you were. I submit my plea to the Elder Nobs with humility; my fate is in your hands. OOC: I learned about Clan Skullcrusher via Warcry. You guys have greatly impressed me with your clearly defined chain-of-command, commitment to Warcraft roleplaying, and well-designed forums. I can bring a variety of talents to the Clan and I have extensive experience with MMORPG's. In conclusion, I would love to join. PS: If you guys have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!
