  1. I've done the fire, mostly running around looking for guys (in zones with monsters a little tougher than you, at level 10). Not too tough. Never tried the others yet, and will gladly team up wit yous to do it. >8]

  2. The shaman trainer, in the Valley of Trials (just outside the entrance to the cave part) will give you your earth totem quest. He sends you to the "Hidden Path," which is to the right as you're running away from town out the cave entrance. Not sure how to describe that better, but I would be happy to show you ingame if you can't find it.

  3. Can't log in, and when I do occasionally get in I can't play (loot lag is too awful). Will try once more later tonight, but we'll be gone all day tomorrow, and may not get another chance to try to play until Friday. Good luck to all who will be home tomorrow. heh

  4. Fizit is doing enchanting as well as tailoring, too, actually. Enchanting is going to be my main focus, eventually. For the first few days, though, I've been focusing on bags (tailoring). Enchanting is more of a long term goal. Seems like a pretty natural pairing, as neither one requires a gathering skill to power it.

  5. Grats, Meifftor! :)

Yah, Fizit is making bags now too (only 6 slot so far). Ask here, or in game (by mail, or live) if you need any bags or cloth clothing made. I'll be happy to hook you up, as materials become available.

  6. I definitely prefer RP server. Fewer annoying names on it. Of course, you get all kinds on all servers, but in my experience the people you meet on RP servers tend to be more fun to adventure with. So, there's my opinion. >8]

  7. You can only learn two of the "primary" trade skills - alchemy, herbalism, mining, blacksmithing, skinning, leatherworking, tailoring, enchanting (did I miss any)?

The "secondary" skills are free-bees, that don't take up one of your two skill slots - cooking, fishing (and, I guess first aid is in this category too). You can know all of these and still take two from the "primary" list. >:L

  8. Right, and once someone has figured out what that name actually is (once the servers go online on the 23rd), they should post it here right away to ensure all new characters are created on the same one.

Ugnush and I plan to play until our eyes bleed, once we get up and running that night (or, at least until we fall asleep at our computers). So, we should be there for guild creation. >:L

Edit: That's what we get for posting simultaneously. hehe

  9. Yeah, tailoring seems an obvious choice to do with enchanting, as neither of them require a gathering profession to support them. Also, you can make your own magical items to tear apart for reagents for your enchanting. >:0 Though, it seems like the magical tailoring formulas aren't sold in shops, and have to be acquired by drops. Which brings me to another thought - another reason to know who is doing which professions is so you know who to mail formulas to when you get them as drops. And, who to give hand-me-down formulas to, if it's one for your profession that you have already learned.

  10. Hrm. Three enchanter/tailors? Mebbe I should plan to do herbalism/alchemy instead. But then, I'll be a shaman with herb/alch, just like Uglutz. No good. Guess I better stick with what originally sounded fun to me.

Btw, have you seen an orc woman is a dress? I made a simple dress, and put it on Fizit. Dress was pretty, but... *uncontrollable shiver of disgust* >:0

  11. Fizit - orc shaman (main)

    SoC alts:

    Jagleh - troll mage

    Shiawha - tauren druid

    Non-SoC alts:

    Frindala - dwarf paladin

I gots other names, but dunno if I'll actually use/play any of them yet.

  12. I think it would be useful to have an idea who plans to do which trade skills in release, so we know who to call on when we need something (and also, so we know what gaps we may have). Also, any idea how useful trade skills are actually going to be in the game? I'm having trouble so far getting a sense for whether player made items are going to be as good as drops.

I plan to do tailoring and enchanting with Fizit.

  13. Yay, wipe! I was figuring, and hoping, they'd do that. Now, though, I gotta wait until release to play more. Hope they release server names soon, so we can actually decide and post which one we'll be on before release happens. See you all in a few days.

  14. Great vid, but it definitely needs to include the female dance moves more. Guess that might be the next video? heh

I also have been completely unable to play today. Just got as far as character screen a few minutes ago, only to get "World Down" message when I tried to log in. Wasn't even on server 10, though. Think maybe it was server 7, or something.

  15. The dragon whelp is too good an option for me to resist, eventually once I get the money together. I also like the mechanical chicken, too, but it's probably an alliance only thing (made by gnomes).

  16. My main characters on server 10 are Fizit, and a dwarven paladin named Sif. I've been playing around with the crafting system with Sif, as a Blacksmith and Miner. As Fizit is a shaman, I figure I'll do a different trade skill with her. Enchanting, maybe. I need to play around with that a bit, too, during the beta, so I can hit the ground running at release. The more we learn now, the faster those early levels go.

One thing I have found, though, is that to get the formulas I want for crafting, it's soaking most of my money. So, at release, crafting may have to wait a bit until we get our charter and tabard. Oh, I can hardly wait! :)
