In a time long ago, before the Age of Man, when the world was populated by Elves and those creatures of the Fae, the world was at peace. It is said the the Creator walked amongst the ELves and others, spreading magic and glory throughout.
Among the elves was Nadrial, a princess. Fair and beautiful, and destined for great things. Her travels throughout the world, brought her into a realm untouched by even the Elves.
The Fairy Wood as it was called, was a mysterious place, and soon its mystery would engulf Nadrial.

W'y'tzyl'vyt, a strange creature, neither elf, nor man, but fae. A creature of magic, who lived between realms. Many of this day would compare him to a Wisp, but he was more. Oft times no more than pure energy and other times very real, very physical. This time, he was that, he was real and whole, and as he did pass from tree limb to cloud, to tree limb, he encountered great beauty.
Looking down, he saw an elven woman, and her beuaty caught him off-guard. Never before had he looked upon the face of an elf, and he saw in her that which he lacked. A permenant link between Physical and Elemental. Her very being shone with great light, light of the Sprites themselves, yet she had a physical body all her own.

And so it came that Nadrial looked up, and saw shining brightly, this glorious creature who she fell in love with... and so with their meeting Nadrial and W'y'tzyl'vyt, or Wytz as she would come to call him. Joined in holy union. And from their joining, would come a true link between their worlds... their son... Elwe Earendil.

The sun shone brightly as young Elwe, only one hundred and ten years of age, listened to his tutors, as they taught him in the arts of Magic.
The humans had come into being not long after his birth.. Still primitive, but a select few developing a thing they called Magic.
To the Elves and his fathers people, this "magic" was second nature.. if not first.. But the humans had new ways of Harnessing it, for it did not flow through them as it did others.
Elwe listened, but he knew he need not. He knew already what they would say, how the techniques would work. His master had already finished Elwe's training... but no one other than his father's father knew of this Master.
--
Master was a kind soul.. with a human look to him, but far to glowing to be human. Elwe cared deply for master, and listened to everything he said, and watched everything he did. Travel was as simple as walking from one room to the other for Master, who could reach the ends of the earth and back again in a single breath. It was the ways of his Master Elwe would learn... to travel time... and space..
It was in this... in this learning that he would come to be a traveller... he would come to be what his master called..
A Strider.
