  1. Two hours later and I'm still 0% closer to having the patch downloaded...remind me why I pay for this again?

Because you have an obsessive/addictive personality (mr 4 level 60s) and this is safer than heroin or crack.

  2. in a 5-10 man you can bet I gauge the Healing Touch. When you are just learning the healing bigraids, it does help to start with Flash Heal and then learn what you mana can and cant do with spell timers.

In any 5 person+ I ask the main tank what their max health is fully buffed before we start. This way I can guage at which point I should cast which spell and I can guesstimate how much health they are losing in a given scenario. Sure, flash heal is a nice standby, but it eats up mana and does not take full advantage of +heal gear. If I know said tank has 6000 max health, I know that when he is at 60% I can start a greater heal and raise him to 100% (85-90% if he is taking regular consistent damage) and keep him up with far less mana expenditure. That is very important in a prolonged fight. So far in the Core runs I have done, on a boss mob healing a specific tank and throwing heals on mages, other priests, DPSers and other tanks, plus shields... I have never had to drink more than one mana potion during a battle when using Gheal and a step down Gheal. Now when I just spammed Flash Heal, my mana plummets. Now, I think I have a good deal of mana when fully buffed(AB and GotW) of 7599, but making it last is what counts. Know your target and your job and your life and the group's life is much easier. That is why I prefer a dedicated healer to a set tank for a whole raid, just because it breeds awareness and a certain comfort zone.

And as for Scryll, I always set aside some mana for you... whatever a ressurection costs :p

  3. Good god...I can't believe that guy keeps his job!

If it is any consolation, our damage doesn't scale either. I've had to get a lot of + dmg/healing gear to get to where I am at. That's another reason I am not thrilled with the Tier3 stuff aside from the mana/5 and the raw stats...it's all + healing...no damage and no + to crit either.

Welcome to all the priest gear except for Virtous(the Devout upgrade) and some pieces of the Prophecy gear. Great, the Faith gear set has about 350+ healing, but last I checked, we cannot heal a person to death.

  4. Thanks for putting up with my confusion :p

Hell, if you can put up with my healing...

I did think of one thing to try to add just a little help...at least from my perspective. Before the fight, put the Priest(or whomever is the main healer) in position 1 in a group and the tank they are healing in slot 2(as determined by the raid heal leader) this way if the healers are monitoring all of the groups bars, they can watch the status of the healer(mana and health) as well as the associated tank and pick up shifts can come that much faster. Now, I do not use CTraid (it kills my comp) so I just go with 8 sets of health bars on my screen from the raid window, so I don't know if everyone else would benefit from this, but I know for me it would make things a lot easier. Just a thought.

  5. Oh yeah, and I don't know which boss it was, but we had one where we had NO deaths...none...nada...zip. (granted, I don't know who we are fighting, I just care about health bars :p) To me that is just kick ass... that is like facing the Baron in a 5 man and not losing anyone... or running an instance and having no one die, it just kicks ass. Considering that we are a casual group and we are not epic'd out and on "farm status", that was just really cool.

  6. Well, after last nights run I think the dog issue was nicely handled. We had a priest and a shammy on each dog tank and had no problems, the rest of the healers were all on the MT/OT and spot heals... I think we lost 2 or 3 people that fight and none were the assigned tanks. Last night I notice we also coordinated our healing duties really well, everyone knew who they were watching and except for a few lag issues... or us squishy priests getting 2 shotted... there were very few hiccups.

  7. Congrats Fomor!

    You did great last night!

It just takes a few runs to get the hang of what to do.

Our first Crusher MC run we didnt' even make it to the first boss.

In another few months we'll be in blackwing lair and you'll be thinking MC is too easy!

Well, I am still learning...and still a n00blet... only been level 60 for about 2 weeks now, and this is my first.

I am really stoked by the fact that after checking Thottbot, all of the Prophecy pieces drop of of bosses we killed this week! Wooohoo, I have hope!

  8. Well, even though this was only my second night doing the Core, it seemed like we were clicking a lot more than Wednesday, and I had a blast. Thanks Maube for running a great raid!

Also, I got my first piece of MC gear last night! Wooohooo!

    http://www.thottbot.com/?i=27135 Mantle of Prophecy.

Fortunately all the priests ahead of me bid on the vast number of items that dropped before this one. And special thanks to Benim who chose not to bid against me, even though he had more DKP and needed the piece! Very classy move man, I mean it.

This was my first epic drop ever in WoW, so I am kinda stoked (I have the virtuous gloves, but that was an upgrade quest reward, so not the same... even though guess what, my devout gloves came from the Crusher's bank... you guys rock!)

    Eric,

    The chain smoker behind Fomor.

  9. I read the title and just had to post YES you are NUTS :)

But then I had to read the actual thread -- yes, I have had a lot of trouble reaching the site as well.

Of course, she is really nuts... I mean, totally BULL GOOSE LOONEY!

  10. Huato and Zuato will now ALWAYS stay behind Greenbull, and as far away as possible.

Oh wait, they usually do now. :)

It's all gordan's fault... all that pulling... all those "save me" screams...

    *backs out of thread slowly*

  11. it was a messy night =p

gotta hate throwing someone who hasnt been tanking much in the Core as MT.

You told him to split his head open so you wouldnt have to Tango with any Molten Destroyers, admit it =)

Phaw! Wasn't the Tanks' fault things were messy, was us healers... sometimes we were fine but others... we weren't just on a different sheet of music, but at different concerts. :p

Now I know it was just my first run, but one unfortunate wipe and some scattered deaths seems pretty good to me.

  12. We arent testy about the water, we are testy about the vending machine/water cooler/etc comments =p

We dont constantly badmouth other classes (individuals maybe <3 Scryll Gorrin and Gordan)

Oh, I hear you... I need to invest in some stock in wax after all the candles I went through last night... yikes.

Don't worry though, we priests get the "Healbot" and "heal-monkey" comments all the time and there is nothing we can do about it!

well, except maybe accidentally forget to heal the offender, or just use lesser heal 1 to save mana...

  13. As it stands, I am really trying to recruit more healers so you and I DONT have to bring our priests =) I dont really have a need to gear Tazzy out right now as Maube is my main.

Give me time and this won't be an issue. After watching tonight I can seriously say that with a couple priests and some other dedicated healing classes all coordinating well, this should not be a problem. Like I said last night, I can pretty much guarantee my being there on Wednesdays and most of Fridays... so you will have at least one priest around regularly... assuming I don't suck. :p

Hehe THe policy is DKP per PLAYER but still curious as to thoughts about 1/2 price upgrades for alts =) (if no mains want them)

Upgrading policies and making them more viable are out there! I am always open to suggestions

Personally I still have no idea how this arcane system works, but as long as I get my gear I am cool. I have to ask though, if no one is a priest that needs an item that drops and I do, can I bid just 1 DKP for it? Just curious.

  14. I admit, I LOLed.

But I have to say, after my first run through MC, Maube runs a great raid. After one bad wipe, she again explained what had to happen and everything went flawless.

  15. DKP

Some guilds have a solution to that issue - instead of decreeing that person A needs one more piece and it goes to him/her, they simply ask players to work it out by themselves.

Making an exemption to DKP rules (and by right you can do this), sets a tone that the system implemented is something we partially follow and not altogether held to strict guidelines.

For instance - right now Lomar has more dkp than I do, I'm #2 for warriors this week. Since I have the shoulders of Might, and Lomar wants either the shoulders or the breastplate, I asked him if he would go for the shoulders (the rarer of the two) and pass on the breastplate if it drops. He agreed. However, Lomar has the right to go for the breastplate and he earned the right to !bid on it. If he changes his mind (I have seen players do this), I will simply wait and say nothing. I will say nothing because #1 he earned the right to, and #2 to not cause undue strife to the guild over loot as these items will drop again in the future and I will have a shot then.

All it means is possibly a few more weeks, or an agreement with fellow classmates.

Remember that line Sunny made in that movie A Bronx Tale when he was telling "C" about his men- "I always give them something, enough to make them comfortable, but not enough so they will leave."

Just my 2 cents on the matter. Please consider it.

    Rel

See, all of that is greek to me... I HATE the whole DKP idea but I understand how it applies given the current situation. That said, I don't care if I get an item or not, I know that I will eventually get mine(when all the other healers have it) and I just want to experience the raid at this point. Because hey, if I manage to keep everyone alive, it means that we move on to the next boss a tad bit easier.

  16. Thats why it hurts not to have a main healer able to be there week after week like there is a main hunter, warrior etc =(

When kalrash was able to make it every week everyone looked to him for assignments and whatnot =(

OK, I am not the best geared, but I can promise to be there every single Wednesday and most of every Friday as needed.

I am just scared of sucking

  17. Guys, some of us... well me and Cwn.. are total newbs when it comes to all this end game farming/rep stuff... many time we NEED to do the dungeons that this stuff is in and we would be more than willing to let you harvest whatever special loot you need there, just to have an all guild group so that we can get our quest objectives and whatever items might drop.

    Let us know.

  18. Eye of Flame

    +10 Stamina

    +10 Intelligence

    +10 Fire Resist

+33(or is it 43) to Fire Spells

    Level 49

    Cloth

    It is a "Purple" Item

I have one, got it a while ago and was never able to sell it, I figure if someone can use it instead of me turning it into a potential Nexus Crystal, please let me know.

  19. Fomor, just FYI

At 57 my priest Tazzak was Shadow.

I was invited to MC on Friday nights. I went.

I made up for my shadow status by a LOT of +healing gear, Brilliant Mana Oil (which Maube can make) and potions.

I was assigned to the MT because of my Burst healing. Of course my mana pool was itty bitty (couldnt even cast prayer of fortitude)... but with the use of consumables, it becomes doable.

Problem is, one of our Shadow priests right now does not bring consumables. Does not have +healing gear (only the prophechy earned) and has no sense of mana conservation.

It is a matter of personal Preference.

Sure once we hit BWL Shadow priests are right out (from what I read anyway) but right now, as long as you compensate.

It comes down to what YOU want to do to keep the game fun. That is what the Crushers are about.

As it stands right now, we could use you every week. And Cwn can come and DPS to her hearts content (yes I know you like to Tank but we have three tanks in full Dark Iron now  )

HOWEVER, do not think you are being pressured =) at least any more then friendly persuasion =)

    This is a game!

Oh yeah... Working on that Hide of the Wild

Need 7 more Larval Acids and 11 more Living Essences =p

    Maube,

I was only asking if there was a spot for me on a regular basis(ie at least every other week) as a Disc/Holy priest. I enjoy healing, always have... played a Doctor in AO and one in SWG... I just wanted to be sure I was needed on a regular basis or I would switch to a more soloable/PvP build and make up for it in parts. As you well know, a priest(much like a druid) is very limited in what they can do offensibly(and thus solo) if they are primarily a healer, and while I have Cwn with me 90% of the time, there are those times alone. That said, if the Clan needs healers, me and my 7000(ish) mana(with AB :bunny:) and all of my assorted healing/casting mods from the Discipline and Healing trees will be there, ALL THE TIME(as said time constraints allow), because what is better for the Clan is what is better for me... I like to melt faces, but winning the fight is FAR more important.

I guess I just want to see if I have a regular place in the big fights... I know I am a newb... hell, I only started playing this game at all back in late November last year... and I am still trying to find my place in the big picture of things. /shrug ((I also HATE to have group members die... I take it personally when a group wipes, because I always think that a good priest can cast at least that one last heal that makes a difference before *I* die... yeah, I am weird))

  20. Actually, I don't mind bringing Zuato at all. In fact lately it has been more of a challenge with him since we've been low on healers, so it's been fun. Being resto spec, raiding is what Zuato does best, so it's fun. And I'm so far in the hole with him now for the Cenarion stuff and the ring that I might as well work on him more for the time being, especially since healing is a priority at the moment, and the Cenarion set will help him with that.

I like both the Druid and Shaman, so I can't say that I am playing a class I don't like. We still have a shortage of Druids at the moment, so it's good. And I'd gladly pass for someone to complete their set with either character.

And that is why I ask which one the raid leader wants whether it is MC or any other raid.

Well, I would have liked to have had more healing gear(like a hid of the wild) but I think I can make a foray into the Core tomorrow if ya'll need healers... but I am at a crossroads. If I am to be a standby healer, please let me know now as I am fighting the urge to go back to shadow and just PvP. I want to help out the Clan as much as I can, but my gaming time is limited and all and I have to focus one way or another.

If ya'll need me as a healer for the Core on a mostly regular basis, I will be there every wednesday and most fridays(I work Friday nights at midnight, but some days I can go in late), and if you just need a back up I will go back shadow and help out on a piecemeal basis as I can.

Let me know what you need most and I will do it, it is the least I can do for all the help and support you all have shown me and Cwn since we joined.

    Much Rotten Love,

    Fomor

  21. And Cwn would sure be a nice DPS. Unless she wants to respec to protection  but I think that nobody deserves that kind of suffering...

    []s

Um, she has ALWAYS been protection spec... like mega protection spec... like 38 points in protection :p

  22. My son told me I need to be able to rhumba with him and also swing dance. Ye gods.

This is the one who still competes (with his fiancee btw) and who also told me I better get moving or I wouldn't learn enough in time. No pressure there . . .

    Children are tyrants, ya know?

Edit to add, this week it's the waltz which said older son did NOT request, so I signed up to raid :p

Um, but you need the waltz for EVERY wedding!
