  1. well sadly for me I start a new job and I'll be gone/working Sun through Wed nights. Doesn't leave me much time

So don't count on me. I like the game and will play during the day.

What realm would you guys be anyway?

  2. I don't know if PGoH is planning to go or not. I dont' think so. One thing I will say about guilds in Camelot you can't have a one person guild.

In beta you must have 8 people at least on line and go to the guild registery in one of the big cities. There you register your guild, but you must have at least 8 people standing there.

So you can't  be 2 real life people with 10 characters and have a guild.

So your gonna need at least 8 Real people to even form a guild. To survive in RvR you are gonna need guilds of good size. (That's my opinion, but really dont' know yet)

  3. More info on Camelot (seems they can't do anything wrong, I mean ahead of schedule!) ( a RP server!!!)

    Copied from DA0C vault

    Server Names Announced

Mythic's Internet Relations Manager Sanya Thomas released the names of the nine servers that will be used when Dark Age of Camelot launches on October 9th.

    Pendragon (Test)

    Lancelot

    Palomides

    Percival (RP)

    Merlin

    Galahad

    Guinivere

    Morgan la Fay

    Bedevere

She also followed up the original announcement with a series of responses.

on the roleplay server: He meant only RP server. Every server on that list is a live server, available for play on day one.

Now, Percival: You guys said that at bare minimum you just wanted a server tagged roleplay, so you'd know where to hang out. But we are doing more than that. We are writing our rule policy right now, so I don't want to get into too much detail, but some of the highlights will include:

    - Stricter interpretation of what acceptable names are

    - Transfer of disruptive players to other servers

    - Tighter scrutiny of the open channels

We also have plans for more GM interaction with this server, once we see if this server can be a success story. Not to say there won't be events on the regular servers, far from it. But the future holds more interaction than

  4. Well, Im in beta and I like the game. *shrugs*

I hate to level up but seems all games are made that way.

Leveling up isnt' bad if you're with freinds. Besides which I pay very little attention to people who have to rant in such language as he did.

    For another view point

    Pro review

It all depends on your play style

  5. That's great news Siun. Thanks for confirming that Wyver lives near Chicago and not NY.

I live in the DC area myself. A very diverse people but it seems to need work. So many are grieving. So many are angry but anger is going the wrong way.

A week after the attacks and now America attacks it own.

I went to work today and a part-time co-worker arrived in the afternoon to show us his car. This boy is a young American, high school senior and an early enlistee in our military but his skin is brown and he's of Indian descent. Today while at school his car (his baby) was vandalized.  Deep gashes were all over every section of his car where someone had 'keyed' it. The scratches so deep that it hurt my hand when I rubbed it over them. So we see a young American who is willing to go into the military attacked by the very people he would fight to defend. The grief and repercussion from the attacks on Sept 11 will go on forever, but this attack and others like it are something we can and should avoid. :(

  6. I never played EQ so I really don't know.

At first I just used the arrows keys becauses when I tried mouse movement I couldn't control it. Now I'm using both, I switch to mouse when fighting and Im getting the hang of it.

There are things I wish they'd do a bit different but every day they seem to patch and tune things. Patching goes amazingly smooth from what I've seen this past week.

  7. First: beta is closed for sign up, sorry.

Second: *stands very straight like a school girl and clears throat beginning summary*

The game setting is right after the death of King Arthur. There are 3 realms/kingdoms.  Arthur’s or the Brits is called Albion and is based on the Arthurian legends. Hibernia is the Celtic culture on an island. Midgard is the Norse kingdom.

This site is the official site, for screen shots and info

    http://darkageofcamelot.com/

You may only play in one realm per server. So if you play Albion on server A(just an example) all your characters on that server must be Albion. This stops the making characters in all realms to cheat. (Doesn’t stop multiple accounts though so some will still do it I suppose. The reason this is important is the realms will war and try to take over each other. I think you can make up to 7 characters per server but not sure.

On Server B you could play another realm.

Each realm has races.  Albian has Briton, Avalonian, Scaracen, Highlanders

Midgard has Norseman, Dwarf, Troll, Kobold

Hibernia has Elf, Celt, Firbolg and Lurikeen

Each realm has classes and advanced classes, more like D&D I think. I refuse to list them all, but

You can be a cleric! A Friar, A Druid, etc etc, get the idea? You can also be a craftsman etc.

There are simple quests you are given to help you advance in your skills.

There is also pvp which I know little about yet. I’m not high enough in level to be in that yet.

But each realm has relics I think with raiding between the kingdoms. Again I’m not sure how this system works at all.

What I can tell you is this game looks good. My characters look good, even pretty. That’s important to me. I can’t stand playing 3RD Dawn, I hate the way it all looks. It’s in 3d and it runs smooth so far.  I’m on dialup and it’s smooth for me so far. Some of the scenery takes my breath. The music is good.  The spell effects are good and although the phrase 'eyecandy' seems to be a negative, I'll say I like eye candy! I love it when my bard actually holds her lute and strums it and an aura surrounds her!

I’ve been more interested in this game than ShadowBane from the beginning. I’m so glad I got in the beta , it’s been a few days and I’m hooked. I’ll post more as I learn more, but a lot I cant’ say yet as you know because of the rules of beta.

This game was being trashed by the reviewers last year, this year they are eating their words.

So far I like this game. Maybe because it’s new and so much to learn, but I hated beta for 3rd Dawn, that was a chore , this is pure pleasure.

Game is suppose to be out in October, preorder stores says it ships the 16th! Sells for about $40 and so far it's on schedule!

Now that's impressive in itself isn't it guys?

    Check it out!

    Dark Age of Camelot

  8. I didnt' know where to post this. You guys are looking at ShadowBane like it's the only game out there. I just got in beta for Dark Age of Camelot and if you haven't looked at this game yet, you might want to.

I can tell you I've been in 3 days and I'm addicted.

    DAoC

  9. Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your daughter as much as I enjoy mine. Now go buy the wife some flowers. Yes , go do that. Mom's are very happy with babies but a bit lost at first.

    So go do that now!

    hehe

    yes I'm a girl!

  10. Okay I found this on UOMain, it was posted July 16th.

     Publish 12 Update Jul 16 2001 6:37PM

Since activating Publish 12 on the Chesapeake shard in late June, we have been monitoring the shard closely, and we are targeting to release the final week of the event scenario publish to the Chesapeake shard on Tuesday, July 17th. Once it is determined that there are no unforeseen issues involving the final week of the Savage Empire scenario and Publish 12, a schedule will be set for the release of Publish 12 to the other shards.

Publish 12, which includes the veteran rewards system, is our highest priority, and we hope to see it released to all shards soon. We are looking to roll out Publish 12 to all shards by late next week, but please understand that due to testing considerations and time-sensitive problems that may arise, all schedules may be subject to change.

A list of the changes included in this publish can be found in Testing for the Next Update.

Considering the complexities of the rewards system, we will wait until all public shards have received Publish 12 before the veteran rewards system will be activated. Once all shards are running Publish 12, and we are confident that the veteran rewards system is functioning properly, we will begin to activate veteran rewards systematically on pre-determined shards. Please note that this means that players will not be able to choose rewards immediately once the publish is received. We are working to see that this delay will be as short as possible, and we appreciate your patience.

Now so far from what I can see only the USA has been had the publish. I may be wrong about that though. But looks to me like we have to wait for all the shards to be published and then SLOWLY one shard at a time they will turn on vet rewards.

So hmm, go back to sleep, no rewards for a week or two or three or ......................................

  11. Also I read Vet rewards will be published but not turned on until they know that the rest of the patch is working. Then they will turn rewards on a few shards at a time.

Can't find where I read it but it was on the UO boards and Lum's site.

  12. a "good woman" will take a back seat, for once I am rich, that little problem will take care of itself

Umm how would you know she's a "good woman" and not just after your money?

Just wondering what other wisdom you have to offer here.;)

  13. A baby! A baby! You are so blessed. Good luck to you and your wife and remember to breath, honest it helps.

I have 4 darlings myself. (I'm still breathing)

I want to hold the baby!
