I am a huge trekkie and have only met one of the original cast members and that would be James Doohan. Very nice guy, much like his "Scotty" character. He does not have the accent you hear most, he has a very normally speaking voice. I met him at a convention he put on in 1988 on the University of Northern Iowa campus, while I was in college. He enjoyed speaking about his time with Star Trek. I got to ask him a question, It was; Out of all the shows that he was in, what was his favorite. He responded; Planet Killer, that's the one I liked the most. He was very patient when people asked him questions; where do dilithium crystals come from. GAH!!
