On October 27th, players of Star Wars Galaxies, the massively multiplayer online game set in a galaxy far, far away, will have their chance to spread their wings and soar through the cosmos with Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed. This addition to the game launches players into the fast-paced dangerous world of space exploration, with over 20 spacecraft and over 100 missions.

The most opulent of vessels, standing apart from the grubby utilitarian freighters and no-nonsense combat craft, is the SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000. Players can travel in style, elegance and comfort in this streamlined craft made famous by Lando Calrissian's Lady Luck. Calrissian, always one have a trick or two up his sleeve, modified his yacht into a combat-ready vehicle by adding powerful deflector shields, rectractable laser cannons, an ion cannon turret and a sophisticated sensor suite. The ship first appeared in the novel, Heir to the Empire, by Timothy Zahn, but it has since appeared in other sources, and has become the benchmark of luxury spacecraft in the classic Star Wars era.

A ship this plush won't be available to just anyone. Only veteran players of over six months in Star Wars Galaxies will have a chance to call the luxury yacht their own. The base model of this starship stands four stories high, complete with a bridge, stateroom, meditation room, armory, engineering area, bar, two observation decks and an elevator. The interior of the ship, both the upper and lower levels can be completely decked-out with the most fashionable furnishing available, including your very own disco-laser beaming R2-unit!

Official word here!

And a bit more info on stuff in things in space...

Just a follow up on two items - - Vendors will not be allowed in space. Sorry, but there are technical limitations.

There are also technical limitations with having more than one multiplayer vehicle decorated at the same time. That won't be possible. I wish it were different, but it can't be. Sorry.
