  1. *shrug* I don't think the forum activity nor account age has anything to do with it... I made mine the day of the first E3 trailer, 6/3/09. to be honest I didn't know much about the game before then. Yes, I was invited to several betas but this thing called a hurricane struck new england just before the first one and I was unable to download the game in time to play and then the update servers took a dive sometime halfway through. second email I never got. third email (for the public weekend) I did get, but my account password got hosed somehow between origin.com and swtor.com
  2. updated the link... weird how they removed some stuff from slicing...
  3. if a companion is not in your party and you click a gatherable resource, you have to stand until the progress bar fills. otherwise your companion will stand behind and collect while you run ahead. optionally if you send 'em off for 3 (or more) minutes, they'll return with possibly rare loot.
  4. Crafting is done via the crew members menu, your companion will leave and do a mission or craft upto I think it's 6 items in a queue. You can desynth a green item to get a blue (seems to be about 25% success) recipe of the same level, and desynth a blue into a purple (didn't try to get purples though). The blue and purple items require rare materials from the mission skills. An "abundant yield" mission may reward a purple crafting item (or recipe if it's investigation). The field gathering skills can be done via the missions menu but unless it's an "abundant" mission it's probably not worth it.
  5. guess I should point out my choices, for sake of record: Artifice/Archaeologly/Treasure Hunting Armstech/Scavaging/Investigation In the last beta where I toiled with the crafting, I did get a couple artifact recipes from Investigation but one was not usable by either of my characters. This makes me ponder a hunting/investigation/trader mule...
  6. Links Crafting "flow chart": Crew Skills Crafting database: http://db.darthhater.com/recipes/ Full list of companions and their bonuses: http://www.swtor-spy.com/companions/ I'll edit and expand on this more later, but my thought was that some of us that get in earlier on early access could also jump start some guild crafting. That way by the 25th everyone can get a nice set of armor for christmas. From what I recall in the betas, the blue end quest rewards are on par or sometimes a bit better than crafted blues. However, most blues or even exceptional/critical success/+1/etc greens can have augment slots. Crew member skills can play a role somewhat in success rates for items that are best suited for the class role, i.e. the Imperial Agent's first companion has a bonus to Armstech which is used to make non-force weapons. While I was running back and forth between quests I'd typically send my companion on a mission while I stopped to kill the roses and gather ingredients. Note: the poll allows multiple choice but each character can only have 3 each... if you're planning multiple characters or crafting mules, feel free to pick multiples of 3.
  7. Nah, Sith'ari is fitting for me. Not fitting for my BH but hmm... maybe (s)he'll be a true blood but not force senitive and still bear the title?
  8. Slowski DSL took only 30 hours, not too bad...
  9. The force was strong with one. You have broken the chains on your account and are free to download
  10. I wonder if "Sith'ari" will be rejected as a legacy name...
  11. Are they scruffy looking and related to nerfherders? The so-called Dark Jedi I can understand. Like us, they don't accept the fact that something might be off limits to explore. Take a dab in the "darkness" of the true will of the force which grows stronger with your emotions. If all Jedi believe that "no one can be more and no one should be less", then why do they have the Jedi Council of masters? Those select few, the strongest of the Jedi, place themselves above other Jedi, herd the other Jedi sheep, and yet claim they are keepers of peace. And what is up with Revan? What horrid machine was used to brainwash him of his true feelings? Personally I gave his mask back to the lady in the Revanite camp on Drommund Kaas, hoping that she would see to it to teach the true power.
  12. be sure to remember that answer, then! heh. I tend to type nonsensical things that no one would guess but fortunately I rememebered them...
  13. oddly, I've only been asked the same question 4-5 times... I'd expect a random distribution of questions like my bank web site does...
  14. it is rather annoying that it asks you for your security question if your IP address changes (router/DSL/modem restart) despite the MAC address never changing, but fortunately I remembered mine and maybe you can remebember yours?
  15. Well, either way eawarearts did the right thing and allow anyone who registered a preorder code to download the digital copy as well... Makes it rather pointless to own a physical copy but on the other hand it seems to be the most fair thing to do.
  16. It's commonly known that through power we gain victory but why is that considered dark? Trusting your true feelings as a sentient being is to look out for one's self and protect those dear to you. To me that seems natural to survive as the fittest. Who are these light side people then? The ones that are afraid of the truth, or the ones that are brainwashed to think otherwise? If you trust your feelings and believe that someone is in your way, do your choice of actions dictate light or dark? Jedi are taught (or brainwashed) to think that giving in to negative feelings are somehow bad. A true believer of his or her own supremacy and one who can forge his own destiny is thus "dark" in his ways and personal choices. If I believe in my own destiny and know that my actions will dictate my future, that asserts my will and individuality. I am Robnar, and I am to become a Dark Lord of the (true) Sith. - Robnar, Sith'ari
  17. I sent in 3 or 4 support requests about my account status trouble, eventually only getting luck on the ea origin site to reset my password, give that a try?
  18. just get to wait and see I guess... I just know it'll be quiet guild wise when I log in until I find another guildie online... Speaking of which, do we have vent/teamspeak?
  19. no, what that means is you can download the early access client but unless you register your retail CD key by the 20th, when the subscription fee starts, you will no longer be able to play.
  20. I believe Stephen alluded to something along those lines a while ago, but they're just following standard operating procedures. Probably 3 months for $40, or 6 months for $60
  21. Maybe they'll acknowlege all of my complaints about not being able to login or comfirm some of the tests and grant me the VIP status
