Kaylor collapsed on the steps, the small pouch containing 50 gems and 500 feathers clattering over the stones as it fell from his grasp. Only through the sheer grace of his faith had he been able to complete his quest this night for the pain and weakness cursed upon him by Rhiannon's wretched blade had all but overcome him with its torment. Closing his eyes he finally surrendered to his infirmity, allowing the agony to lead him to unconsciousness.
