Ok my new talent spec:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classe...000000000000000
I now heal 500ish a tick every two seconds with my hots =D
I am VERY happy with my new spec btw. I bez heal0rz urz.
-
I tried my best to keep him out....
I guess it's time to gang up and attack on Korgall right? we need more levels around here!
-
Anxious to mess with them, but not sure. I know alot of priests will go 31 disc/rest holy or remain shadow simply because of the 31 point talent will be loved by any healer or any mage/warlock. I'm going 31 holy/rest disc simply because my point on any raid, be it pvp or not, is to heal. Light well will help me with that, as well as the rest of the talents helping me boost my healing. I'll mess with it if I can ever get on tonight
-
doh!
They really must've fubar'd some things if the site is messed up again. I'm able to look at the link right now- but it took an awful long time to refresh. There were things on there- I swear!

I did shadow spec on my first priest from 1 to 60, and it was cake. I did shadow with Narsica again from 1 to about 45ish, but went holy because we needed good healing for our 5 mans we were doing at the time. Regardless, I'd suggest leveling up using the battlegrounds as well. Usually horde dominates up till level 60, so just hop in there and pwn the place, regardless of your spec.
BTW fear is your friend.

If it's anything like the warlock soul shard bag, you'll to obtain it from a boss or from Cenarion circle faction. I know the soul shard bag(24 slotter) I got by having 300/300 tailoring and reading the book that drops from Jandice in scholo.
-
LOL no worries any of you. I think it was just a bit late by the time we actually got rolling, and some wrong pulls and such(Thanks to me) we had to run back a bit. Hopefully we can try again for the note- maybe tonight for those that still need it.
-
^^ Good idea!
-
...now I have to make the decision I've been putting off: +22 int on GBW or Rod of the Ogre Magi (if/when I get one).
Suggestions? I'm tempted to drop it on the GBW to use as a raiding staff, but am torn since it would also be fantastic on the Rod to make up for the comparatively low +int. I suppose I could do both (after some serious farming for shardable loot), but will be grappling with this again when we get someone the +spell dmg enchant
Glad that I don't have any decent one-handed swords/daggers...that would really make my "hed asplode"!
+30 spell damage on the Rod of the ogre magi imho
-
Korgall, Vanidi, and I need to be keyed.
-
To be honest, after they pushed to the second graveyard I afk'd and logged for the night. I have no idea what we did wrong but all of a sudden bam allianced pushed everyone back asap, got the GY, then proceeded south. Also it helped that they summoned their 60 and 61 elite dwarven ram guys...which were hard to deal with as well.
Usually it's a 50/50 chance for a raid in there. If you see Keevox or Tongs, my bet would be that there won't be a raid group. Usually when I zone in I get an invite, and if not I'll yell for an invite, but after that if I get nothing, there probably isn't a group and horde are just running around in chaos.
I basically want a raid group so I can shield people but at the same time have a decent communication going on. This is what AV lacks alot and why horde loses a lot....
For those of us that have gone to WoW from Daoc, it's alot like the frontiers but with a lot of problems....from pally shielding/pulling gears so someone can run in and cap to rogues stealthing up top to a tower and capping through the wall(the guards up top are archers and don't participate in melee combat for some reason), it just seems like AV is more of a chaosfest with cheats galore.

A few more pics from Friday night:
-
http://conquest.teamgbu.com/strats/moltenc...Lava_Surger.php
Background:
This is a fun mob at first, but quickly loses its appeal. It has one of the more interesting attacks in the zone. This mob will be seen zipping through the zone at high velocity. This mob respawns in 28 minutes and is one of the faster respawning mobs. There is no known way to stop him from spawning. This mob is banishable.
Attacks:
This mob has a basic single target attack that hits for about 600-800 on tanks. He will also choose a secondary target to periodically 'surge' to. Everyone near him at the time plus the person he charges will get hit with a ~800-1000 damage ability and get knocked back a few yards. The affect is much like bowling pins. Unfortunately, this ability makes this one of the more irritating fights, though we sure enjoyed it at first.
Strategy:
We make sure to time these mobs if they are going to be anywhere near us when they respawn. However, they aren't all that bad of an add since they can be banished by warlocks. We tried to put everyone right on top of him so that he woudln't surge, but this did not work and he just surged everyone at once. Since then we spread out some and just take him down. It is very rare to lose anyone on this mob, but he can be rather mana intensive.
So what you to do is have the melee go melee and have the ranged stay ranged, as well as healers. This minimizes the damage being done to the raid as whole. Sure it's frustrating to meleers that have to chase the surger as it surges, but hey that's what it does.
This is how DP and TBW/SD/EFF does it and it barely causes any damage to the raid.(In case you guys were wondering, I was in TBW and we were originally allied TBW/DP. DP then broke off and TBW joined with Silver Dawn and Epic Freedom Fighters...for some background info for you folks )
-
hehe that's why half the time I don't pay attention to the background at all, rather, just the raid window for healing.
-
-
Of course this is with the new player level cap at 70, these instances will be for low 60's leveled players.

I'll be there friday as well, hopefully there's no signup sheet or anything I don't know about
As far as you dying on the Mags encounter smedlock...
Hate to say it, but that's why I said before the encounter "I feel for the rogues...". Well, I should have also included the warriors. Basically anyone that's melee in this fight is expected to tend for themselves. I know it sucks, but the priests are to mainly keep up the MT, the tranq shot hunters, and all ranged dps(warlocks/mages/hunters). I do believe we spared one priest down in the corner by Mags, but usually it's just a fend for yourself fight, which I know sucks.
We'll get better at MC as we progress, and hopefully deaths will be kept at a minimum(though there will always be some deaths in MC). Keep up the good work!
-
Part of the lore that I remember hearing about them is that they have their appearance from being so long lost from their magic power as Blood Elves...that's also why they have the name "The Lost Ones" because on their journey to search for another source of power they were left behind or "lost" on the way.
Yep there are some Draenei referred to as "The Lost Ones" Because they are just that- they are stuck in the Blasted Lands thanks to not being able to cross through the portal back to Outlands. Hence they lose their power or whatnot- I'm not sure if the playable race will be the ones in Outlands(most likely) or the few scattered in the Blasted Lands on EK.
-
Anyone up on thier lore enough to know why the Draenai would side with Alliance? I only recall a little of them from the rts game, werent they neutral to the Horde at least. IIRC they asked for the hordes help in their civil wars no?
Here's some info about how the draenei could/could not be on alliance's side. They're slaughtered by the orcs, yet allied with the blood elves- who are now allied with the horde(orcs included) which may make the Draenei switch to alliance for help. Just my idea anyway.
"The Draenei are one of the three primary races native to Draenor (the others being the Orcs and the Ogres). They once populated the planet heavily, but were slaughtered by the Orcs shortly after their corruption by the Warlock Gul'dan. A small number of Draenei survived, using a recessive cloaking ability. They were thought to be extinct, yet Illidan and his forces discovered and liberated one of the last surviving Draenei villages among the wastes of what is now known as Outland. The Draenei are known for being stealthy spies and assassins as their warriors can Shadowmeld at all times of day, even while moving. They are currently ruled by Akama, the Elder Sage, and are allied with Illidan's Naga and Blood Elves. The Draenei are consumed by an unquenchable bloodlust whenever they know Orcs are near. A few Draenei were led through the portal by a few unknown leaders with the hopes of finding a new life, and have settled in The Swamp Of Sorrows. Unfortunately, most of them were driven mad due to homesickness, and attack all on sight. There are a few, led by Magtoor, that remember their noble roots and survive on in the swamp separate of their mad brothers. The mad Draenei are called "The Lost Ones" in memory of their old homeworld.
Some point out that the Draenei are allied with the Blood Elves under Illidan, and use this as a basis that the Draenei would not work against their allies. This counter-argument was debunked at BlizzCon when it was revealed that the Blood Elves who are the Player Characters will be Blood Elves who were not with Kael'Thas. So if a group of Draenei were added as the new Alliance race, they would not feel any loyalty to the Horde's Blood Elves."

Dunno, looks legit to me
-
Actually, you only get the 50% baseline crit chance when rooted (frostbite's chances are even slimmer), so it's much less than half in normal practice. As for the rest...well, I can only wish to have gear like that right now, so it's like comparing apples to oranges. The spec may be the same (or similar), but my damage output is half of that right now and makes frost/arcane lackluster for damage and efficiency.
Heh, take that gear on a fire mage and a frosty would seem very weak. If I could've lived with more downtime, I'd probably have respec'ed back to fire by now...
Hence why I said shatter/frostbite combo(shatter is 50% on a frozen target, be it because of frost nova or the shatter effect). The 15% chance from frostbite may not seem much on paper- but it procs QUITE frequently for me. I mean heck, the rogue that hits you 10 times in ~2 seconds....that's alot of 15% chances.
Not saying it is best, just saying it's worked for me(It's what I was since I made my mage the night the game landed ). Combine all that damage with the great defensive powers of ice block(removes ANY negative effect, be it a curse, viper sting, bleed, slowing, scatter shotted, blinded, etc) and ice barrier(extra 825ish health that while up allows you not to be interrupted in spellcasting..), you're golden. And there's alot of excellent blues out there that you can get outside of MC/BWL/AQ/ZG etc.
Shivery Handwraps, Briarwood reed, Burial Shawl, Burst of Knowledge, Crimson Felt Hat, Crystalline Threaded Cape, Dragonrider Boots, Thuzadin Sash, Sublime Wristguards, Sandworm Skin Gloves, Sacred Cloth Leggings, Robe Of Everlasting Night, Spellshock Leggings, Skyshroud Leggings, etc.
All of these drop in either UBRS,LBRS, Scholo, Strath, Silithus Questline loot bags, DM Bosses, ZF Bosses, or are made(Robe Of Everlasting Night) or are random world drops(Sacred Cloth Leggings).
To be honest, I'd personally just rather see a mage do steady constant DPS, rather then an OMGZORS one time every 2-5 mins Trinkets/Arcane Power/Combustion/POM/Pyroblast arcane/fire mages.
-
Also, I somewhat disagree with Narsica about balancing +crit and +dmg being less important for a frosty (but respect the position...it's a personal choice, after all). The lackluster damage output from frostbolts almost begs for more crit chance to be effective in DPS fights. Adding +dmg is a no-brainer and almost required as well. The only bad thing about having as much +crit gear as I usually have on is that it's not as easy to control your aggro in an instance/raid situation. In the end, though, it's a matter of style and making sure to use your head crit-wise when you're not soloing (a string of crits can have some nasty consequences in a raid).
True, I just never needed the crit though. You get a baseline 50% chance to crit(shatter/frostbite combo) that's already a 1 per 2 frostbolts chance of critting. Combine that with your intellect(certain amount of int = 1% chance to crit) and the fact that most of the really good +damage comes with a +1% crit, you'll have a good baseline 60ish % chance to crit. My alliance mage the ogre magi rod, the mana igniting cord, robe of the archmage, etc items that gave some more crit. Overall though- with my trinkets(Talisman of Ephemral power and Burst of knowledge), my frostbolts go from 221 mana to 121 mana with ~1000ish damage, 2000+ crits. Very mana efficient, very decent steady heavy damage(doesnt' rely on the trinket or arcane power, rather rely's on the crits from shatter). Worked very well for me!
