USTA District Championships

Well, after the league championship victory 2 weeks ago, my team Ithaca Red Knights traveled to Syracuse to challenge the Binghamton and Syracuse champions for District supremecy.  Sadly, we started with 1 of our 5 matches as a default since one of our men could not travel with us.

In the first match we defeated Binghamton 3-2 for Ithaca's first victory EVER over a Binghamton squad in USTA District championships.  In our next battle with Syracuse we fell 4-1 with our number 1 singles man again standing victorious.  Ithaca for now 9 years has held the top singles slot for singles.

Myself....though I have fought back from graves and the 60 pounds I gained with that awful mess.(Lost 33 so far)  I lost both matches at 1st doubles.  Though we practiced for about a week on getting used to the new doubles groupings we did not jell good and in the first match my serve was horrible.  Second match it was much better but as doubles goes...if one of us is down the opponents should and DID attack my partner in the second match.  We lost in a 3rd set tiebreaker.

Overall it was a blast....the courts were at 100 degrees and we were out there for 6hrs worth..next time I need to drink more fluids....much more.

Secondary good news...hehhe weighed in this morning and boom...heheh now add another 6 pounds off...hehehe mostly water but damn feels good!!! (39 down and 21 to go!!)

Today begins my volunteer work for Ithaca Youth Bureau locally in running the County Area Tennis Championships.  I have 101 players and I threw myself into the mix...so we shall see what damage I can do to them and this graves leftover crap.

I am on another vacation to be able to do this so I will be around in EARLY parts of days if at all.  Alot to catch up on I am sure...I am refreshing PGoH housing and Siun's as well.

Take care ...wish me luck (I will need it)

STRENGTH AND HONOR!!!

PS if anyone goes to see Planet of the Apes a HUGE trailer is before the movie for LORD of the RINGS....pretty nifty.

I enjoyed Planet of the Apes.....it is visually stunning..while the dialog is not like a normal movie.....IT APES for crying out loud I said when I read a couple of stuffy critics complaining.

The movie is for entertainment and FUN in the thought and idea of the old show....NOT to be a wonder of dialog....Apes are demonstrative more than talkative ...geesh...dingy critics.

heheh

Enjoy

Good luck Stan!

Glad to see you about again and happy to hear things are going well for you.

I was wondering about Planet of the Apes and after your review I think I'll actually go see it now.

I think we need to plan a trip for you to Boston for the release of LOR since we will have a wee little one and travel might be  a little rough.  I still need to take you out drinking on the town since last time I failed miserably coming down with a bad ass flu.

I am definatly looking forward to LOR, I have loved that book since the first time I saw it.  Who knows how many times I have read it.  The only thing I am worried is if the movie will meet my expectations.

Good luck with your matches Borgie
