  1. Huh. I expect nothing less from Blizzard. Their track record of good customer service has been spotty during World of Warcraft, and downright awful with Battlenet (though that, granted, is free).

You should go to a good game where the Devs listen to their players... City of Heroes!

Well, kidding. Sorta. Sucks that happened to you, man, but like I said, I'm not really surprised.

  2. OMFG that was HILARIOUS!

Almost makes me want to see the real movie now...which I will anyway because I'm obligated to as a Star Wars fan, but I wasnt' looking forward to it. Now I'll have something to think of while the craptastic stuff Lucas is making is spewing out at me from across the screen.

  3. Hey, guys. I gave it a fair shot, but I'm quitting. Just not any fun, not compared to City of Heroes, that is. Yeah, it fulfilled my lewt craving for a while, but....overall...it's just more frustration than fun.

So, will be turning Gens leadership over to Rhoach's alt (so he can still solidify a place for undead alts of THE), and not resubscribing on the 4th of February.

    Laters.

  4. Oh, I admit I do that too. I have a semi-lucrative cat-smuggling business right now. No, i'm not joking. Most sell at just over cost (generally about a gold) but sometimes I can sell a cat for upwards of 5 gold. I've even done that with alchemical recipes and tailoring recipes on occassion, but not often...when I do, I set the price at a few silver above what I bought it, and let whatever the price ends up to be be, I guess.

Trick to recipes/patterns is that if the title is WHITE then it was bought at a vendor. If it is green, then it was dropped from a mob. That's not always the case (I think enchanting recipes are always green, but not sure), but generally it is. Unless I just cannot find a white pattern (ie, azure silk gloves), then I'll buy it at the auction house. Otherwise, I just look for green recipes.

  5. Meat is back...unless you're undead. I collect robes with Soke so I can have a different look if I want to do something social, like go to a party or whatever (not that I'm social, but Just In Case). For in the field, stats, but I try to have things color coordinated too, tending to blues and purples (with +int modifiers, everythign else is secondary)

Zooqi...it doesn't matter. Just whatever fits at the moment, though I do try to keep her in dark browns and forest greens.

  6. just a word of advise to anyone else drawn by the power to enchant.....be FULLY committed.

what does that mean you ask.  In my experience, i am a tailor/enchanter.  the first 100 or so skill is great fun life is a party, like any addiction.  then suddenly you find yourself in the gutter.  Penniless,  dispicable and without much hope.  you'll say ill quit tommorrow.  heres the real deal:  there are no components to just go collect, you must commit to disenchanting every green item you find, or make.  you must commit to getting training many levels after it is available.  you must commit to surviving with out extras,  you must network and deal with many people,  you must accept that untill you match those high level enchanters you wont make money enchanting,

    mount..hahaha. and on and on

im level 38 and have few silver to my name.  you may find a better path than i, you may like all that enchanting entails...good luck.  if this is your idea of fun, disregard my ludacris ramblings.

It's not so bad. I'm just about at....hmm...artisan enchanting? The one after expert anyway, with Soke, and she tends to have a few gold on hand most times. The trick to making money with enchanting is to offer your services when no one else is, and be prepared to take a loss for a while. Enchanting weapons, however, because they *glow* will always rake in the big cash. Even just minor beastslaying I charge 25s per enchant and rake in a couple gold, plus that's the easiest one to get materials for: no shards needed.

But yeah...it's not like the other tradeskills where you can make something and sell it back to the vendor.

  7. I don't know what you're talking about.  I did try this.  Twice in fact.  Stamina only has a small effect on your hitpoints.  VERY small.  Vol posted the armor formula.....

I took a considerable amount of damage with 0 armor from a level 50 mob.  With armor and shield it was a huge difference.  Maybe you're just not high level enough to notice it?  Not sure.  I have over 3600 AR with my shield...it makes a huge difference.  I notice a huge difference when I fight with my two-handed weapon rather my one hander and a shield.

Sorry you're not enjoying the game.  Every game has its lovers and haters.  I happen to be a WoW lover  :yub:

Also depends on what class you are. If yer a mage/warlock, taking off your armor and not casting yer shield spell won't make that much of a difference. I think Soke (35 mage) has around...500 armor with the buff up? Half that without, which translates into roughly "soaking" about 15 percent of the damage. Whee. A mage's main defense is not to let the mobs get close to them, or kill them quickly. A warlock's main defense is their pet.

Warrior on the other hand, big difference. I'd imagine somewhere in the middle for the leather users, the rogues and shamans and hunters.

As for loot dropping, I don't particularly care. I remember DAOC fondly because of the random drops and the excited "OMG what was THAT?" moment I'd get when seeing it. A pair of +1 con green shoes was cause for joy in those days. I mostly play (and this is weird, I know) to satisfy my need for "phat lewt" in a game. I love CoH, but it doesn't have loot. So, if a wolf drops a pair of magic boots it's cause for joy in me. But then, I'm a big weirdo. :D Otherwise, WoW is just...ok for me. Nothing good, nothing bad, just kinda meh. I just needed my phat lewt, dammit! Well, that and hanging out with the pervy troll Rhoach is cool too. Oh, yeah, and Uld. :D And just about everyone else. I'm an awful soloing hermit in CoH so grouping is good here.

  8. And now we have our own tabard too. Yup, having some extra money by doing lucrative "cat-smuggling" on the side (I sold a Bombay cat for 5 gold today!), Soke finally purchased a guild tabard and nearly caught up on her spells...and all before she hit level 36 too. Woot!

  9. I made a deddie alt on XMas eve.  She is a rogue named Nikk.  (She may have been named Nikki in a life long ago, but somewhere along the way she lost an i...)

I wanted a character that could breathe underwater for a long time and open locked stuff.  I will look you up Soke and join GMM if you'll take me.  :nub:

Certainly! The Dedie guild is open to all THE members of course... just need to catch me online and we'll get you set up and everything.

  10. Hows the guild going Soke? Dash is trying to get me to come to the horde side (have a level 28 NE hunter and 30 human rogue) The only thing I would play would be an undead rogue. I have been wanting to try one out. How meny members do you have in the guild? And about what levels are they?

Well, there's not that many in it... I only made it for the people in THE who wanted to play Deadites to have a place to go. Hardly any of them are active 'cept for me, and I'm about level 30 or 29 or something.. I misremember. Been waiting to have other THE members join with whatever alts, but... *shrug*

  11. More than likely I'll be on tomorrow in the morning or afternoon...if you want, we can get you sorted out and in then. :) I need to finish my writing tomorrow though (at least reach the full 50K and I'm only 1500 words short atm) so it might be a short day for me.

    Laters!

  12. Yup, that's right, the "dedie" guild has been made with the name "Gens Mors Mortis". I think even a couple of people who joined will even stick around. :) If you have a dedie alt and want in, send a tell to Soke when I'm online or give me a mail or something.

Gonna be working on the ranks and suchlike in the next few days and a quick sort of guild charter/purpose. Yes, it'll be a rping guild, of course. :)

  13. Don't sell any linen you find...mail them or give them to our tailors! It's hard to find linen sometimes. Fizbit is a tailor (our main) and Zooqi will be as soon as I get to Ogrimmar.

  14. It's better than any of the other 3D MMORPGs that I have played (not counting UO here). EQ, DAoC, SB, SWG.

Yes, but you havent' played Coh! Hehe.

I do think it's better than SWG, hands down. DAoC...we'll see. Not far enough into the game yet to compare, and I havent' played EQ or SB. But it's not bad. :) Def. like their crafting system better than DAOC's or SWG's tho.

  15. It's not a bad game... I do agree that it's better than UO...I played that for just a little while though my hubby's been playing since it came out.

This will be a nice break from CoH though. Have CoH in evenings with husband, and afternoons with Wow. :)

  16. OK, well, as soon as I can get on, I'm gonna go make my Undead Mage...and as soon as I can get enough gold scraped together for the piece of paper, I'm going to make a guild for us "dedies". :) Thinking of calling it Gens Mors Mortis, which means roughly in Latin, "Clan/Tribe/Race/People of Death".

  17. Sorry, but Uglutz was drinking too much Glurp that night. We will not be grouping with undead, we may have a guild, but if anything, they would not be very nice to the Skullcrusher Orc Clan.

Note me not saying anything about GROUPING with Undead, just talking to them. If you had to.
