  1. Sky, one thing I've found is that TOR has much deeper single-player role play stuff to entertain yourself with. I'm really enjoying the game. In fact, I will probably play alts not out of boredom but because the lore and storyline are so well-developed.

I was also worried about early frustration, but you have to break the WoW mentality of rushing to the level cap and then going back to old content later. This game just isn't like that.

  2. Hello, everyone. Sorry I've been afk a bit. Just to keep you posted...

    1) We're having a baby! Due in June.

    2) I'm deploying! Back stateside in a few months.

So even though I bought the thing on download, I decided not to log in considering all the extra stuff I have to take care of before I take my little vacation. But this just means that when I get back, I'll need lots of help catching up.

Stay out of the fire -

  3. Just a reminder to catch Elrikk's very own pet star, Atka, the AMAZING Eskie! on Animal Planet's TV series, "Dogs 101" tomorrow night, Saturday, 10/2/10, at 8pm EST.

In case you're unfamiliar w/ the show, this series is basically a guide to all different dog breeds - their pros and cons, etc. Each episode focuses on 6 different breeds, and within each breed, there is a "studio-model-IDEAL dog", and then a "story dog" with some sort of story about it that makes for good television.

Atka was chosen to represent the American Eskimo Dogs on this episode as the IDEAL dog. You won't be able to miss him in the studio doing his tricks (jumping through hoops with Elrikk's wife, skateboarding, playing dead, waving goodbye, etc.).

So, make sure you're able to either tune in or set your DVRs to record it, and feel free to pass the word along about it. :sorry:

Not sure you've got the right episode in mind according to your television guides? The other breeds in the same episode (in this same order) are the Basenji, Bullmastiff, Shetland Sheepdog, Coton de Tulear, Wonder Dogs, Great Pyrenees, and (finally) American Eskimo.

"See you" all on TV tomorrow night!

Clearly, CLEARLY written by my sister and NOT by Elrikk.

But as much as I hate having a dog-nephew instead of a human-nephew, yeah, he's a pretty amazing puppy.

  4. This sounds really good, Eigun, but I would suggest making it a little earlier. Maybe 7:15-7:30. Most raids form about 7:45.

There are lots of locations we can choose that everyone can get to easily.

Sounds like a good start. Any thoughts on where?

  5. I am not ashamed to admit that I am snagging this idea from my time with the Ani Ayastigi.

They used to have a weekly guild meeting where they would talk about recent accomplishments in character.

I think once per week is a bit of overkill. I mean, there were plenty of weeks with the Ani where no one would say anything, we would sit around looking at each other for 10 minutes, and then leave.

So, I propose a monthly meeting. For convenience, let's make it 7:45 the first Tuesday of each month, right before the normal "raid" schedule. That way, we can brag about the raid kills, pvp leetness, achievements, and whatever. It's also an appropriate forum to have promotions, announcements, or anything else.

For those hesitant to do anything "in character", my translation is, so long as the actual text could be read aloud and make sense, you're good to go. So "brb bio dps suxxorz" doesn't quite make it, but almost everything else does.

I nominate Scryll to head this up.

  6. *deleted, duplicate post*

If you don't say it twice no one pays attention?

Well, I clicked "add reply", and then the browser window froze up. After a few minutes I hit "reload" and then clicked "add reply" again.

I suppose I should just get a mac and a track ball.

  7. Well that was surprisingly easy (with only one or two oh crap moments). Thanks to everyone that joined in for the fun.

Wondering if anyone would like to go again so Kadiana and Skywatcher get a shot at it? (200g for 2 hours)

I'll go again. It was surprisingly fast. Just about two hours with us being careful.

I highly encourage people to do this run.

Loads of fun, quick and easy. Thanks to Ascoli for putting this together!

    p.s. Get a microphone.

  8. Oooh pick me! :lostit:

    I'd love to.

But I never know when I'm going to be around on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'll try to log in a bit early, so that if you have a spot, I can start the begging immediately.

  9. I actually did this already with one of my alts but I am willing to sign anyone's charter!

I've been trying for a week now to get people to sign my charter. Apparently everyone is filled up with toons, has no unguilded alts, or is unwilling to /gquit to sign and then get an alt re-wardened.

I could really use the help...

  10. Zu: Speckledust was one of my all-time favorite in-game moments. That and taking down Vashj. I'm so happy you let me share both of those experiences with you.

Orcala: While the big modern HK USP's are all the rage unless you are a certified Glockenspiel, your dainty little hands might be better off with a single stack. You'll be amazed what a slightly modded 1911 can do.

Don't worry about the kick from a .45, if you have better control over the weapon it will still be better then firing a 9 out of a weapon you can't grip well.

Who cares if you have 15+1 if you can't hit the target?

  11. I stand by my original post.

If you are offended by the language and are surprised because you aren't used to hearing me talk this way, guess what? I'm not talking to you.

I'm talking specifically to the people that hear me talk this way frequently and know I'm talking to them.

Furthermore, I know very well the importance of team success. I think the problem is that people who have become lax in their commitment have gotten into the mindset that they are messing up "the raid" and not actual people.

And to those people, who I consider friends, who have heard me talk this way quite often: You're not just messing with random strangers online. Your actions are screwing me, also. This raid is filled with real people.

The burnout is obvious, but clearly people want to see the end of the raid. So you have a choice to make: Make the commitment to git-er-dun, or... not.

I'm not asking for justification for your reasons, or explanations of your feelings. Make a decision and move on with your life. Stop sitting on the fence, it's just holding up a spot and slowing us down. We've all made sacrifices to be here. If you can't do that, you're no less of a person or a player and I'll never judge you as such. But have the integrity to do what's best for the raid.

  12. I'd like to remind hybrids that have picked up healing gear, and wouldn't mind healing when we are short healers, to please contact kalea.

I'd rather heal and raid then dps and not raid.

So just say when. Since my normal specs are dps/tank, just give me enough notice so I can respec.
