http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...73&sid=2000 - patch notes. VERY long read!

http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/ - Direct link to MMO-Champion's new talent calculator, including Hunter/Pally changes.

Oh, the NDA is lifted, so we can safely talk about new stuff. Be sure to check the usual new sites like MMO-Champion or Wowhead: stuff is being datamined by the crapload, but don't spoil yourselves if you like surprises!

Holy's L80 build will probably look something like that, assuming they don't magically re-arrange talents before the final build. Still a pretty bloated tree, but there's a few very nice things that help threat generation even further ("Touched By the Light"? /fap) for us tanky types.

The skill changes look rather amusing...

-All Auras now affect all party and raid members within the area of effect. - Pwnsauce! No more fighting over who gets what Aura :p

-Avenging Wrath no longer causes Forebearance, damage increase reduced to 20%, now increases healing done by 20%. - I can live with the 10% damage loss, but no Forebearance? And it affects heals? /fap

-Blessing of Sacrifice renamed Hand of Sacrifice, is now only 1 rank and transfers 20% of the damage taken to the caster, duration reduced to 12 seconds, cooldown increased to 2 minutes. Only one Hand spell can be on the target per paladin at any one time. Now costs 6% of base mana. Ouch. I can see this being useful as a CC breaker, but that's about it. Outside of Maiden, I never did use it a whole lot...

-Blessing of Salvation renamed Hand of Salvation, now reduces total threat on the target by 2% per second for 10 seconds while also reducing all damage and healing done by 10%. Only one Hand spell can be on the target per paladin at any one time. Now costs 6% of base mana. Am I the only one not being a total pecker-head regarding this change? A lot of people refuse to accept Salv as is in favor of DPS blessings, and since threat mechanics are being changed, this is probably going to help more than hinder over the long term.

-Judgements of the Just (45 Pts): Your Judgement spells also reduce the melee attack speed of the target by 10/20%. Paladins get a single-target Thunderclap? *drool*

-Lay on Hands no longer drains all mana, cooldown reduced to 20 minutes. ¯\(°Д°) <--/point & jaw drop

Expect some changes to occur, especially to the paladin abilities and trees. Blizzard made some statements right after the close of alpha about paladins and some plans for changes that don't jibe with the trees that have been mined so far, so I'm not counting on things staying the same. Also, there are definitely some changes slated for death knights and a few of the other classes that aren't reflected in the current build. In short, YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) :p

looking at the proposed hunter talents, it looks like BM will still be the big raid spec tree, SV will be the Raid buff tree, and MM will be the PvP tree. At least hunter only need to spec 10 points into marks now, and don't need to bother with aimed shot (although 20 points into marks still looks interesting). I can see every group fighting over a SV hunter now... free mana/rage/energy per crit... and with over 50% at current gear levels fully buffed at lvl 70... but who knows what level 80 wil bring. BM hunters will have unlimited mana when using viper, and a lot more AP using hawk. MM gets to play with underpowered stings... and the odd procing extra attack, lol.

Ooo, I forgot to mention that SV gets a meaningfull smal AOE as a 51 point talent.

I'd probably go as http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?hunter...000000000000000 for SV, and as BM probably more of http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?hunter...000000000000000

I can't help but get excited at all this new stuff, after months of silence from Blizz. Yea, it will probably change, but my brainstorming juices are flowing like Niagra Falls right now at all the stuff Blizzard has teased us with.

I'm such an excited little elf!

You picked a wonderful time to roll a paladin, Lauri. :)

MOAR NEWS!

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...=1&pageNo=1

By Nethaera:

"We’re pleased to announce a convenient upgrade to the way that mounts and vanity pets are handled in Wrath of the Lich King.

Players will be able to “learn” a mount or non-combat pet much like learning a spell, recipe, or new ability, and these creatures will then show up on a new Pet tab within the Character Info section of the interface. Players will be able to access and preview their learned mounts and vanity pets through this tab.

Once learned, the pet icon or mount icon will no longer appear in bag spaces or bank spaces. This inventory space will be made available once again for other adventuring needs. Pets can still be set to hotkeys by dragging them to the hotkey bar, much like any other spell or ability."

My god...the amount of bag space saved by this...so beautiful.

By Tigole:

"Yes, we're planning on speeding up leveling in the 60-70 range. Keep the feedback coming. We are still adjusting it. Let us know what levels you are in what areas in this bracket."

This game is getting better every time I read about it. Keep sending feedback for ezmode Death Knight levelling!

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/ - Talent Calculators got updated as of 7/23/08.

EDIT: More complete Talent Changes listed at MMO-Champion. (7/25/08)

Lots of stuff got new icons. They used the temporary lardball face for Hammer of the Righteous. I don't wanna put that on my hotbar! :hello:

Damn. Improved Holy Shield now gives 10 charges total? I could get used to this. ;)

Avenger's Shield got a damage reduction, but 70% less mana cost. Pretty acceptable, since it's our #1 hallway-pulling mechanic.

Guarded by the Light got sorta nerfed...is now a passive 30% (was 50%) mana cost reduction on Consecrate, Holy Wrath, and Avenger's Shield (with 2 ranks). It used to proc off of a parry/dodge. I can live with this, since it's a very nice mana conservation change, rather than having to pop Holy Shield & cross my fingers

Kinda glad Blizzard is finally seeing that Mana conservation is a prot pally's major hurdle (if not one of many), but I'd still like to see little changes that make it less frustrating (IE - adding a Counterspell effect to Avenger's Shield or the new shield bash).
